Since he wasn't able to stop both his friends from getting the beating of a lifetime, Kayden had failed the first ever quest which had been given to him by the system. Although there were no consequences for failing a quest, he was still disappointed in himself for not being able yo assist them in their own time of need.
He had failed to protect the people he cares about once again. Kayden needed to think of a way to ensure that what happened today never repeated itself in the future. It was clear as day that the school authorities were not going to interfere in the affairs of the students. As long as the offspring of a rich and powerful family doesn't get killed while under the supervision and tutorship of the academy, then they had nothing else to worry about. At the end of the day, no one cared about the interests of those who had no connections to the influencial. Most especially when you look at the Grand scheme of things. In their minds, everything they did was yo ensure that the most powerful and resourceful survive these times and help defend against the Shales.Gripping his arm tightly, not willing to let go, Kayden had no choice but to change into his Werewolf form to overpower the student. However, mid-transformation, he felt a kick to the side, causing him to yell out in pain.He looked up and could see the other student standing before him. The situation wasn't looking white good for him. Knowing that he couldn't take on both students on his own, he feared for this confrontation to happen. And with none of his friends around, he was on his own."Get ready to loose your rank to me!" Josh yelled, his eyes wide open with a wide grin on his face, his expression resembling that of a madman. Not wanting to go down without a fight, he kicked the other student in the head, sending him crashing to the floor. Josh charged at him with his ability charged and ready to deal damage. Seeing this, Kayden was ready to dodge the attack when he could feel something holding his feet in place.Looking to where the other student had fallen, he could see him lying on the floor with his head raised up, smirking at him. His eyes were glowing, and from his hands, his ability travelled towards Kayden, holding him in place.'This ability...' Kayden thought. He had not much time to think about it, as Josh was already dangerously close to him with a fist of burning hot flames. He was inches away from Kayden's snout, when a barrage of claw marks hit him right on his arm and face, forcing him to take a huge step back.'What?' Kayden thought."What's going on here?" a boy asked, walking closer and closer to the fight. Hearing his voice, plus the attitude it carried, Kayden knew of one person who wasn't only brave enough to stand up for him, but stupid enough to put himself in even more danger just to save his friends. With his bright red hair and matching eyes, his ability was able to give him and Kayden more time to either deal with the two students or find a way out of there current situation. Zain looked at the student lying on the floor. From what he could tell, he was the reason why Kayden was stuck in place. Directing his attacks at him, the latter yelled in agony as his clothes and flesh were ripped apart in a flurry of claw strikes. He then directed his attention on to Josh. Having dealt with the other student, Kayden was finally free to move as usual."Thanks for the save," he said, which came out as nothing but wolf-like sounds, but Zain got the jist of it.Although he couldn't sense Zain nearby before, he was glad about one thing. The fact that he was someone who walks fast."No problem," he replied, turning his attention onto Josh. Now, why don't we send this guy on another trip to the infermary?" he asked, cracking his knockles. Kayden smirked in response. From Josh's point of view, there were two dangerous creatures standing before him. One having yellow glowing eyes while the other is a beast once thought of to be. myth centuries ago. Anyone of them could've been enough to make him shit his pants if it was a one-on-one fight.Kayden ran forward and grabbed him by the neck before he could even think of running away. He knew that he would have to deal with him so he wouldn't have any ideas of messing with him or his friends in the future. Josh struggled to breathe as the latter's claws clasped tightly against his neck. He was terrified for his life.He tried his best to speak, but Kayden's grip around his neck was too strong to allow him to utter a single word. Sweat began to trickle down his face, his eyes wide in horror. Shocked, he couldn't even gather the courage to activate his ability once more.Perhaps it could have helped him in this dilemma he had put himself into. His comrade on the floor seemed to have been knocked out, showing no signs if getting back up to his feet anytime soon. His body covered in a pool of his own blood.Josh couldn't come to grips with the fact that he was all on his own this time. Confronted by two powerful students, who didn't look like they had any plans of showing him mercy. He brought his two hands together in a way to show that he was begging for forgiveness. He tried opening his mouth to utter the words, but all that could be heard were the sounds of choking as tears began streaming down from his eyes as well. With his other hand, Kayden gripped the latter by the hair, ripping a large chunk of it with force, causing him to bleed from his scalp. Although his screams echoed across the hallway, no one came to his rescue."Now, how do I deal with you?" Kayden wondered, glaring into Josh's eyes. The choking sounds brew louder and more frantic."Relax, I'm not gonna kill ya. That'll be way too easy of a punishment for what you tried to do," Kayden said with a wide grin. The sight of such a beast grinning at him was enough to make Josh pass out in fright."Wake the fuck up!" he yelled, slashing his razor-sharp claws across his face, drawing a massive amount of blood and even breaking his jaw in the process.Josh's eyes darted open, wanting to scream out in agony. However, half of his jaw had been slashed. Worse, it laid barely hanging on to the upper part of his face. The severity of the injury caused him to bleed out an insane amount of blood. Still, Kayden wasn't satisfied with the results.Using the hand still grabbing on to his throat, he threw him high in the air, before jumping high up as well. Meeting him midair, he raised his leg, delivering a kick to the skull, sending him crashing towards the floor at a rapid speed.Meanwhile, Zain picked up the unconscious body of his accomplice, before throwing it against the wall. Then, using his ability, he proceeded to shred parts of his body further, making sure that he avoided any vitals just like the last time so as to not end up killing the student.Fighting between students at the academy was a normal thing. As such, to ensure that the school, as well s its facilities and equipment, weren't damaged due to these fights, the floors, walls, and everything else the students came in contact with, were built with a rare, highly resistant and durable material capable of handling whatever it was the students produced during clashes. His body crashed into the floor with a force strong enough to destroy an entire building in seconds. Although the attack, as well as the crash, were brutal, Kayden was sure enough that that wasn't enough to kill him off. Landing on the ground as well, he walked up to Josh's unconscious body before picking him up once again."Let this be a lesson that you will never forget," he said, throwing him back onto the floor.Seeing as the threat was eliminated, and that he and Zain had managed to get through to these two students, Kayden cancelled his transformation and continued walking back to his dorm room. But, similar to what happened prior to the one-sided beat down, a hand had grabbed him by the wrist, urging him to stop."I think you and I need to have a little talk," Zain said, looking him in the eye. It was clear that he wasn't going to take no for an answer.___________I hope you enjoyed the chapter. My goal is to one day become a famous author. If you want my dream to become a reality, then please keep on reading and support this work.Zain had been Kayden's friend ever since they were freshmen back at highschool. For as long as he knew Kayden, the latter had always been a secretive person, who wouldn't even open up to his friends about the things that were bothering him. However, after witnessing Kayden being at the mercy of those two students, he decided to step in and assist him at his time of need. He did something that friends were supposed to do for each other. Friends were also meant to tell each other what was going on with them when they had a lot of things bothering them."About what?" Kayden asked, his tone heavy, not wanting to talk about anything related to the incident that had just taken place. Zain looked at both students on the floor before turning back to face Kayden."I've known for a while now that these two have been after you. You've been worrying about them for over a day now. I saw how distracted you looked during all the classes today. You could barely keep your focus even when your instruct
Kayden's roommates were two boys named Paul and Shawn. While Paul had challenged Kayden to a fight less than two weeks from today, Shawn was more interested in others things besides fighting. Athough his strength wasn't something to laugh at, his wristwatch displayed the number 24.2, meaning that he was above even Kayden in rank.Still, despite this, fighting and growing stronger wasn't something he enjoyed doing. It was just a necessity to ensure that he could live his life doing what he truely enjoyed. Shawn was someone who loved to dabble in science. During his free time, he would spend his time creating all sorts of gadgets while further expanding his knowledge on the world around him.One would begin to think how he could do such a thing, considering the fact that his room was big, but not big enough to contain something akin to a laboratory where he could invest his free time in chasing his passion. Of course, he was able to do just that thanks to the Shales, well, their magic,
There were a lot of students who were interested in quickly rising through the ranks, however, not all of them were so eager to push beyond their limits to achieve their desires. Madison had just headed back to her dorm room after the magical weapons class had ended for the day.She had a rank of 12.1, and although it wasn't that bad, she still wished that she could improve on it. So, that night, she decided to do something she never thought she would ever do the day that she had first entered the academy."I challenge you for your rank!" she yelled at one of her roommates. Since everyone else seemed to be challenging other students for their ranks, she decided why not do the same thing as well. She was interested in how she would be treated if she ends up becoming one of the five titans. But, for now, she would have to start small, challenging her roommate who was just a little above her in rank. Madison had seen the girl used her ability during the abilities class, so she knew that
The purple-coloured ring was designed to grant whoever was wearing it the power of transportation. Although this skill also came in the form of a Tracker Class ability, the fact that magical weapons also possessed abilities made them highly sought after worldwide and is the reason why there are so many of them in today's world.Kayden was interested in knowing the full extent of the ring's capabilities. Surely, there were limitations that came with this power, similar to the way one's ability worked. There were bound to be things the ring could and could not do and maybe a way to increase its power. He wasted no time in activating the ring. It began to glow purple as a system notification had appeared at the same time.[Ring Of Teleportation has been activated]Kayden then thought of where he wanted to be, similar to how one would use the skill as an ability, and his body suddenly appeared on that very same spot. He looked back at where he once stood, and couldn't help but feel excite
Wanting to explain all the remaining Aikido techniques left for the students to learn, the instructors began explaining the other forms before finally decided to provide a demonstration on each of them. Honestly, it was a lot for the students to handle. They had just managed to learn one technique, and now, they were being forced to learn five more as soon as possible."After Sankyo, we have Yonkyo, which is also known as the Forth Teaching. This is a basic Aikido wrist control technique involving a pressure point. It is one of the Basic pinning techniques of Aikido. Within Aikido circles, it is considered with something of an awe, because of the distinct pain it induces."Then, there is Gokyo and Rokkyo. Gokyo, also known as the Fifth Teaching, is a basic Aikido elbow control technique used in situations such as removing a knife or a dagger from an opponent's hand. While Rokkyo, which is known as the Sixth Teaching, is a basic Aikido arm control technique. This Aikido technique is al
The fact that the instructors had decided to jam-pack all these teaching in one lessons was really bugging some students. They were interested in growing stronger so that they could challenge others for their rank. They were interested in the social benefits having a higher rate could give you. Everyone wanted to be treated nicely by their fellow students and be given respect. They saw this class as their chance at making that dream a reality, but with the fact that not everyone showed interest in the class, there were those who were slowly creating tension in the class. A serious student may have paired up with an unserious partner who wouldn't allow them to train while refusing to train themselves. Meaning they were not only holding themselves back, but also holding back someone who wished to progress. And seeing as no way was ready to switch up partners, they would have to bear with who they had ended up with, hoping that they would sooner or later start taking the class seriously.
Reading through the information, he realized that it didn't exactly tell him the strength of the beast. The only useful information it stated was the fact that the beast was at peak condition, something that he was unhappy to know. The creature was as strong it could be, meaning that if they were going to fight, then it would certainly be one tough fight to win.Kayden was at least glad that the beast didn't have any skills or abilities, other than the fact that its drool was highly venomous and acidic. Still, he wondered how effective it would be against someone of his level. Would it just affect a part of their body, or would it go as far as to burn their bodies on the spot. Thinking about this, he knew that he and the others will have to decide on something before the east finally teaches where they are.Arriving at what looked like a waterfall, the three students jumped down, not caring about how far down the water current led. Descending down, they all looked up, only to see the
[Basic Grade Beast][Scorpanion: A vicious beast with powerful venom located at the Apex of its stinger. Its natural habitat is the Sandy terrain of the desert. It hurts by either covering itself with sand, waiting for prey to pass by before clasping onto it with its razor sharp, powerful pincers, then injecting it with its venom to kill it off and to make the prey easier to consume by liquefying its inside then sucking it dry. Leaving nothing but a carcas behind before waiting for its next meal to arrive][Variations include Infant Scorpanion, Juvenile Scorpanion, Terrible Scorpanion, and then Goliath Scorpanion][Infant Scorpanion: It has the basic characteristics. It has the ability to create sandstorms with its speed. Its venom is highly potent and can kill almost instantly][Durability: 100%]'I hate that shit already,' Kayden thought to himself, looking at the other two. They both looked quite determined to fight against this beast. So much so that Kayden was beginning to think
