Blake was about to take Carter to the infirmary after beating the absolute crap out of him. Seeing as had gone way too far with the beating, he decided against using so much force next time. Blake and Carter had almost nearly the same rank, but had grown far stronger that Carter over the past few days.
He had taken all the classes more seriously than the later and was even more hellbent on surpassing his limits. So much so that he did something kind of crazy. On his way out of the room, his path was immediately blocked by a group of students."Hey, do.you guys kind getting out of the way? I need to get my friend over here to the infirmary," he said, gesturing to the blonde-haired student on his back. The five students looked at each other and smiled."Oh, we don't care about any of that," the leader of the group said, before shooting his hands out. Out came a flash of red light that zapped Blake and Carter where he stood, sending them flying back into the Arena and crashing on the floor. Stepping inside as well, two of the students closed the door and locked it behind them, while the remaining three walked towards Blake."You see, we are just doing what everyone else in the academy is trying to do, so don't hate us if he go too rough on ya," the girl said, creating another ball of red energy in the palm of her hands. After our friends took down those clowns, I thought it was only right if I put my time into some good use as well," she hurled the attack forward.Blake managed to roll to the side, avoiding the attack, leaving nothing but dust after the attack had hit the ground. Based on what it was built for, the Arena had been built with a special material strong enough to withstand the attacks from powerful ability users. Seeing the condition Carter was in, Blake was at a loss of what to do.Had it been he was the only one, then he could've at least put up a fight against them, but it wasn't only him. His friend was in this situation as well, as he wasn't able to fight back because of what he did to him.'Man, I really screwed up this time,' Blake thought to himself. ____________In his dorm room, ready to head to bed, Kayden suddenly heard a noise from the system.[Quest Received: Save your friends from the usurpers][Reward: 50 Points]His eyes lit up upon reading the messages. 'Yes! I can finally start my levelling up journey!' he yelled in his mind. He was more than excited to level up his Werewolf form that he didn't fully read the first message. Going through it again, his heart started to beat rapidly. Not wasting anytime, he ran out of his dorm room and began to race towards their dorm rooms. They weren't there. He quickly checked every other room at the academy that was granted access to the students. It wasn't long until he made it to the large double doors leading into the Arena. They were locked in, but he could hear a familiar voice from the other side of the door."Blake!" he yelled, transforming into his Werewolf form. He slashed at the door, but his strength was no match for the durability pf the door. He could hear the sounds of grunts, screaming, and the whooshing of flames. Whatever was going on inside, it was clear that Blake was fighting some people.Knowing that Carter might be inside as well, he thought that the two might at least have a decent shot at winning, not knowing that Blake had to fend for himself. Having tried everything he could, Kayden came to realize that he had no way of getting in.What felt like an eternity later, and the sounds of screams and fighting came to a halt. He could hear the sound of someone walking towards the door and unlocking it from the inside. Jumping back, he was still in his Werewolf form, ready to deal with the people that harmed his friends.Stepping out with her crew, was a ginger-haired teenage girl with a sinister glow in her eyes. Looking past her, he could see both Blake and Carter lying unconscious on the blood, in pools of their own blood.Kayden's body began to twitch uncontrollably. This took him back to the time he saw the condition his sister was after she had been released but her kidnappers. The sight, no, the thought of seeing someone dear of him in this condition was enough to make his heart bleed. He didn't knew when his legs started to move on their own.He raised his claws and bared his canines. A terrified express replaced the girl's demeanor upon gazing at the number displayed on his watched. She was severely outranked and out matched. Even the students beside her began to shatter and ran in all sorts of different directions in fear. They had just help their leader ascend to a new rank, which meant that everyone else below her had ascended as well. They weren't prepared to take on someone who was so above them in rank. Leaving her behind, Kayden claws drew out blood. It wasn't until minutes after he had lept forward that his sanity began to return back to him. Calming himself down, he looked left and right, making sure that those other students weren't somewhere near the area. Using his form's superior sense of smell, he double-checked to make sure they were truely gone."I'm sorry I let this happen to you," he said before going to pick up Blade and Carter. Fortunately, they were both still alive and well, thanks to their abilities allowing them to start healing before even receiving medical attention.Though their Mana was depleted, they needed a healer who would supply them with Mana so that their injuries could heal properly. Kayden carried both of his friends on his shoulders before making his way towards the infirmary. Knocking on the door, a voice from inside told him to come in.Not payingmuch attention to the academy's nurse, he walked towards the beds and placed them down to lie on them. He then turned towards the nurse to tell her what happened."They were attacked by a group of students. I wasn't able to help, but I managed to get to them as soon as I could. Please, heal them quickly."She upset by how rude he was acting towards her, but still, decided to let it slide since he was obviously worried for his friends' well being."I'll do the best I can, but the next time you step in here, show some respect!" she punched him in the gut, causing him to bend forward in pain from the force.'Man, even the academy's nurse is this strong...' Seeing as he there was nothing else keeping him there, Kayden decided to leave them be in the hands of the nurse.'Those students...' Kayden thought back to when he met them stepping out of the arena. He remembered how that girl's watch displayed the number that would usually be shown on Blake's own watch. 'So there were trying to climb the ranks by beating up Blake and Carter,' he thought.Just like Carter, Kayden understood the reason for the ranking system as well as the adverse effects it was having on the weaker students. He didn't really care about those he had no connections with. It seemed like these desperate students were started to target the people he knew and we're close to just to climb the ranking ladder. He needed to do something about this, or else who knows what might end up occuring in the near future. He needed to find a way to keep his friends and himself safe at the academy. On his way to his dorm room, his mind was clouded with thoughts on how he would protect himself and his friends from bullies. He wasn't paying attention on the path before him that he ended up bumping into another student."Oh, sorry," he said, as he was about to continue going his way. The person whom he had bumped into seemed to have had other thoughts on mind, as he quickly grabbed Kayden by the arm, pulling him back."No, I don't think you're sorry," the boy replied."What the fuck is-" Kayden cut himself off mid-sentence, realizing who is was that was talking to him. With his short purple hair and eyes, and his friend standing behind him, he didn't look too happy to see Kayden either. His name was Josh, and he had recently been discharged from the infermary after having been defeated and getting his rank taken away from him.Josh was ready to vent out his frustrations on someone.___________I hope you enjoyed the chapter. My goal is to one day become a famous author. If you want my dream to become a reality, then please keep on reading and support this work.Since he wasn't able to stop both his friends from getting the beating of a lifetime, Kayden had failed the first ever quest which had been given to him by the system. Although there were no consequences for failing a quest, he was still disappointed in himself for not being able yo assist them in their own time of need.He had failed to protect the people he cares about once again. Kayden needed to think of a way to ensure that what happened today never repeated itself in the future. It was clear as day that the school authorities were not going to interfere in the affairs of the students. As long as the offspring of a rich and powerful family doesn't get killed while under the supervision and tutorship of the academy, then they had nothing else to worry about. At the end of the day, no one cared about the interests of those who had no connections to the influencial. Most especially when you look at the Grand scheme of things. In their minds, everything they did was yo ensure that th
Zain had been Kayden's friend ever since they were freshmen back at highschool. For as long as he knew Kayden, the latter had always been a secretive person, who wouldn't even open up to his friends about the things that were bothering him. However, after witnessing Kayden being at the mercy of those two students, he decided to step in and assist him at his time of need. He did something that friends were supposed to do for each other. Friends were also meant to tell each other what was going on with them when they had a lot of things bothering them."About what?" Kayden asked, his tone heavy, not wanting to talk about anything related to the incident that had just taken place. Zain looked at both students on the floor before turning back to face Kayden."I've known for a while now that these two have been after you. You've been worrying about them for over a day now. I saw how distracted you looked during all the classes today. You could barely keep your focus even when your instruct
Kayden's roommates were two boys named Paul and Shawn. While Paul had challenged Kayden to a fight less than two weeks from today, Shawn was more interested in others things besides fighting. Athough his strength wasn't something to laugh at, his wristwatch displayed the number 24.2, meaning that he was above even Kayden in rank.Still, despite this, fighting and growing stronger wasn't something he enjoyed doing. It was just a necessity to ensure that he could live his life doing what he truely enjoyed. Shawn was someone who loved to dabble in science. During his free time, he would spend his time creating all sorts of gadgets while further expanding his knowledge on the world around him.One would begin to think how he could do such a thing, considering the fact that his room was big, but not big enough to contain something akin to a laboratory where he could invest his free time in chasing his passion. Of course, he was able to do just that thanks to the Shales, well, their magic,
There were a lot of students who were interested in quickly rising through the ranks, however, not all of them were so eager to push beyond their limits to achieve their desires. Madison had just headed back to her dorm room after the magical weapons class had ended for the day.She had a rank of 12.1, and although it wasn't that bad, she still wished that she could improve on it. So, that night, she decided to do something she never thought she would ever do the day that she had first entered the academy."I challenge you for your rank!" she yelled at one of her roommates. Since everyone else seemed to be challenging other students for their ranks, she decided why not do the same thing as well. She was interested in how she would be treated if she ends up becoming one of the five titans. But, for now, she would have to start small, challenging her roommate who was just a little above her in rank. Madison had seen the girl used her ability during the abilities class, so she knew that
The purple-coloured ring was designed to grant whoever was wearing it the power of transportation. Although this skill also came in the form of a Tracker Class ability, the fact that magical weapons also possessed abilities made them highly sought after worldwide and is the reason why there are so many of them in today's world.Kayden was interested in knowing the full extent of the ring's capabilities. Surely, there were limitations that came with this power, similar to the way one's ability worked. There were bound to be things the ring could and could not do and maybe a way to increase its power. He wasted no time in activating the ring. It began to glow purple as a system notification had appeared at the same time.[Ring Of Teleportation has been activated]Kayden then thought of where he wanted to be, similar to how one would use the skill as an ability, and his body suddenly appeared on that very same spot. He looked back at where he once stood, and couldn't help but feel excite
Wanting to explain all the remaining Aikido techniques left for the students to learn, the instructors began explaining the other forms before finally decided to provide a demonstration on each of them. Honestly, it was a lot for the students to handle. They had just managed to learn one technique, and now, they were being forced to learn five more as soon as possible."After Sankyo, we have Yonkyo, which is also known as the Forth Teaching. This is a basic Aikido wrist control technique involving a pressure point. It is one of the Basic pinning techniques of Aikido. Within Aikido circles, it is considered with something of an awe, because of the distinct pain it induces."Then, there is Gokyo and Rokkyo. Gokyo, also known as the Fifth Teaching, is a basic Aikido elbow control technique used in situations such as removing a knife or a dagger from an opponent's hand. While Rokkyo, which is known as the Sixth Teaching, is a basic Aikido arm control technique. This Aikido technique is al
The fact that the instructors had decided to jam-pack all these teaching in one lessons was really bugging some students. They were interested in growing stronger so that they could challenge others for their rank. They were interested in the social benefits having a higher rate could give you. Everyone wanted to be treated nicely by their fellow students and be given respect. They saw this class as their chance at making that dream a reality, but with the fact that not everyone showed interest in the class, there were those who were slowly creating tension in the class. A serious student may have paired up with an unserious partner who wouldn't allow them to train while refusing to train themselves. Meaning they were not only holding themselves back, but also holding back someone who wished to progress. And seeing as no way was ready to switch up partners, they would have to bear with who they had ended up with, hoping that they would sooner or later start taking the class seriously.
Reading through the information, he realized that it didn't exactly tell him the strength of the beast. The only useful information it stated was the fact that the beast was at peak condition, something that he was unhappy to know. The creature was as strong it could be, meaning that if they were going to fight, then it would certainly be one tough fight to win.Kayden was at least glad that the beast didn't have any skills or abilities, other than the fact that its drool was highly venomous and acidic. Still, he wondered how effective it would be against someone of his level. Would it just affect a part of their body, or would it go as far as to burn their bodies on the spot. Thinking about this, he knew that he and the others will have to decide on something before the east finally teaches where they are.Arriving at what looked like a waterfall, the three students jumped down, not caring about how far down the water current led. Descending down, they all looked up, only to see the
