Fall(Part 2)

Blake was about to take Carter to the infirmary after beating the absolute crap out of him. Seeing as had gone way too far with the beating, he decided against using so much force next time. Blake and Carter had almost nearly the same rank, but had grown far stronger that Carter over the past few days.

He had taken all the classes more seriously than the later and was even more hellbent on surpassing his limits. So much so that he did something kind of crazy. On his way out of the room, his path was immediately blocked by a group of students.

"Hey, do.you guys kind getting out of the way? I need to get my friend over here to the infirmary," he said, gesturing to the blonde-haired student on his back. The five students looked at each other and smiled.

"Oh, we don't care about any of that," the leader of the group said, before shooting his hands out. Out came a flash of red light that zapped Blake and Carter where he stood, sending them flying back into the Arena and crashing on the floor. Stepping inside as well, two of the students closed the door and locked it behind them, while the remaining three walked towards Blake.

"You see, we are just doing what everyone else in the academy is trying to do, so don't hate us if he go too rough on ya," the girl said, creating another ball of red energy in the palm of her hands. After our friends took down those clowns, I thought it was only right if I put my time into some good use as well," she hurled the attack forward.

Blake managed to roll to the side, avoiding the attack, leaving nothing but dust after the attack had hit the ground. Based on what it was built for, the Arena had been built with a special material strong enough to withstand the attacks from powerful ability users. Seeing the condition Carter was in, Blake was at a loss of what to do.

Had it been he was the only one, then he could've at least put up a fight against them, but it wasn't only him. His friend was in this situation as well, as he wasn't able to fight back because of what he did to him.

'Man, I really screwed up this time,' Blake thought to himself.

In his dorm room, ready to head to bed, Kayden suddenly heard a noise from the system.

[Quest Received: Save your friends from the usurpers]

[Reward: 50 Points]

His eyes lit up upon reading the messages. 'Yes! I can finally start my levelling up journey!' he yelled in his mind. He was more than excited to level up his Werewolf form that he didn't fully read the first message. Going through it again, his heart started to beat rapidly.

Not wasting anytime, he ran out of his dorm room and began to race towards their dorm rooms. They weren't there. He quickly checked every other room at the academy that was granted access to the students. It wasn't long until he made it to the large double doors leading into the Arena. They were locked in, but he could hear a familiar voice from the other side of the door.

"Blake!" he yelled, transforming into his Werewolf form. He slashed at the door, but his strength was no match for the durability pf the door. He could hear the sounds of grunts, screaming, and the whooshing of flames. Whatever was going on inside, it was clear that Blake was fighting some people.

Knowing that Carter might be inside as well, he thought that the two might at least have a decent shot at winning, not knowing that Blake had to fend for himself. Having tried everything he could, Kayden came to realize that he had no way of getting in.

What felt like an eternity later, and the sounds of screams and fighting came to a halt. He could hear the sound of someone walking towards the door and unlocking it from the inside. Jumping back, he was still in his Werewolf form, ready to deal with the people that harmed his friends.

Stepping out with her crew, was a ginger-haired teenage girl with a sinister glow in her eyes. Looking past her, he could see both Blake and Carter lying unconscious on the blood, in pools of their own blood.

Kayden's body began to twitch uncontrollably. This took him back to the time he saw the condition his sister was after she had been released but her kidnappers. The sight, no, the thought of seeing someone dear of him in this condition was enough to make his heart bleed. He didn't knew when his legs started to move on their own.

He raised his claws and bared his canines. A terrified express replaced the girl's demeanor upon gazing at the number displayed on his watched. She was severely outranked and out matched. Even the students beside her began to shatter and ran in all sorts of different directions in fear.

They had just help their leader ascend to a new rank, which meant that everyone else below her had ascended as well. They weren't prepared to take on someone who was so above them in rank. Leaving her behind, Kayden claws drew out blood.

It wasn't until minutes after he had lept forward that his sanity began to return back to him. Calming himself down, he looked left and right, making sure that those other students weren't somewhere near the area. Using his form's superior sense of smell, he double-checked to make sure they were truely gone.

"I'm sorry I let this happen to you," he said before going to pick up Blade and Carter. Fortunately, they were both still alive and well, thanks to their abilities allowing them to start healing before even receiving medical attention.

Though their Mana was depleted, they needed a healer who would supply them with Mana so that their injuries could heal properly. Kayden carried both of his friends on his shoulders before making his way towards the infirmary. Knocking on the door, a voice from inside told him to come in.

Not payingmuch attention to the academy's nurse, he walked towards the beds and placed them down to lie on them. He then turned towards the nurse to tell her what happened.

"They were attacked by a group of students. I wasn't able to help, but I managed to get to them as soon as I could. Please, heal them quickly."

She upset by how rude he was acting towards her, but still, decided to let it slide since he was obviously worried for his friends' well being.

"I'll do the best I can, but the next time you step in here, show some respect!" she punched him in the gut, causing him to bend forward in pain from the force.

'Man, even the academy's nurse is this strong...' Seeing as he there was nothing else keeping him there, Kayden decided to leave them be in the hands of the nurse.

'Those students...' Kayden thought back to when he met them stepping out of the arena. He remembered how that girl's watch displayed the number that would usually be shown on Blake's own watch. 'So there were trying to climb the ranks by beating up Blake and Carter,' he thought.

Just like Carter, Kayden understood the reason for the ranking system as well as the adverse effects it was having on the weaker students. He didn't really care about those he had no connections with. It seemed like these desperate students were started to target the people he knew and we're close to just to climb the ranking ladder.

He needed to do something about this, or else who knows what might end up occuring in the near future. He needed to find a way to keep his friends and himself safe at the academy.

On his way to his dorm room, his mind was clouded with thoughts on how he would protect himself and his friends from bullies. He wasn't paying attention on the path before him that he ended up bumping into another student.

"Oh, sorry," he said, as he was about to continue going his way. The person whom he had bumped into seemed to have had other thoughts on mind, as he quickly grabbed Kayden by the arm, pulling him back.

"No, I don't think you're sorry," the boy replied.

"What the fuck is-" Kayden cut himself off mid-sentence, realizing who is was that was talking to him. With his short purple hair and eyes, and his friend standing behind him, he didn't look too happy to see Kayden either. His name was Josh, and he had recently been discharged from the infermary after having been defeated and getting his rank taken away from him.

Josh was ready to vent out his frustrations on someone.
