5. Business plans

They went to the cotton road using Jaden's car. Jaden himself had already gotten his driver's license, because he was 18 years old, had a car, and a garage too. All three were required for a driver's license.

Because Batavia is a crowded city, the government decided to reduce the number of vehicles so that there would be less traffic, with the additional requirement of having a garage for car or motorcycle drivers.

Because residents often complained about car or motorcycle owners who parked their vehicles in front of their houses carelessly even though it was a public street. Especially in housing complexes that do not have land to park cars. Even though there is already a daycare center for cars that costs a small fee.

Aslan didn't really understand, but rich people like Jaden had no barrier to owning a private vehicle.

It took them an hour to reach the cotton road, because besides the traffic jam, the place was quite far from the dormitory. But if using a bicycle, it wouldn't take that long, maybe only 30 minutes.

Jaden parked his car in a trusted car park, after which they walked to the street food place.

At this time of night it was very crowded, especially since Batavia residents love to snack. In fact, many tourists from other countries go to Batavia to enjoy the tropical scenery and diverse specialties. So it is not strange to see various races in that place. Starting from white skin, black skin, yellowish skin, brownish skin, all blend into one.

Batavia residents themselves are mostly white or exotic tan skin, the local population is famous for its natural tropical beauty. Locals are also famous for being friendly to anyone, including foreigners.

Even so, there are still people everywhere who like to look down on others. Tourists from other countries won't think that there are cases of bullying in Batavia, because all they know is that the people are very friendly.

Jaden and David were the most excited to hunt for food, they bought jumbo takoyaki, jumbo chicken satay, Boba milk tea, and more. While Devon and Aslan just followed them, both of them only bought lemon iced tea.

"Have you guys finished your snacks? I want to see my shop," Aslan said.

"Why didn't you say so earlier?" David asked after he finished chewing and swallowing his saten.

"You guys are immediately engrossed in your snacks, how can I interrupt you?" Aslan said.

"Alright, let's go to the shop - wait, what shop? Who does it belong to?" Asked Devon confused.

"It was Aslan's - hmm? You own a shop?"

Aslan scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, "It's actually a secret, you guys promise not to reveal this, right?"

Devon, David and Jaden nodded quickly, they were already curious about Aslan's story about shop.

"So, I'm an orphan, right? The previous owner of the orphanage was very kind and not greedy, the point is I actually still have my parents' inheritance, I even have the documents of the shop, here it is! In my name right? I even have a surname!"

Aslan showed them his shop letter, it said that the owner of the shop was Aslan Kendrik.

"So your surname is Kendrik?" Jaden asked.

"That's a bit strange" David muttered.

Aslan swallowed, he was nervous, hopefully they would believe his lie. There was no way Aslan could be honest if he got the shop from the system, they might be thinking he is crazy.

"This document is genuine, we can trust it, maybe Aslan and the old owner kept it a secret because they knew the new owner would snatch it if he found out. Besides, even though adulthood is only counted after the age of 20, 18 years old can be expelled from the orphanage, it's legal." Devon was right, it was time for Aslan to leave because he was 18 years old. Although Aslan wanted to stay because he felt sorry for the other siblings at the orphanage, Aslan couldn't sue the orphanage for not taking him in.

"Yes, you're right, it's time for Aslan to be independent. Let's go to the house!" David said.

Aslan opened the shop with the key he had brought. The shophouse didn't look like an old shophouse, it wasn't dusty, clean, neat, and some of the furniture was covered with a clean white cloth.

"It's like it was left there yesterday, how come it's not dusty" Jaden commented.

"I'm surprised too" muttered Aslan.

"I often pass this way, I also remember this shop was always closed, there was never an owner, there was no writing for sale or rent either" said David.

Everything was still good, even the electricity could be turned on, the lights were in good condition too. When they went upstairs where they could live, the place was also good. There was a big bed, a good wardrobe, a balcony, a bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. Everything was good.

"I think this place is worth about ten million dollars," Jaden said.

"I think so too, because it's in a great location - you could stay here." Devon asked.

"I live in the dormitory because it's near the school, but if i live here, it's far from the school, right? Also, I'm planning to open a business here, I'm still thinking about how -"

"Hire me! Let's build a business together!" Devon interrupted Aslan's speech, making Aslan stare in disbelief.

"But why, don't you want to go to college after graduating?" Aslan asked.

Devon nodded, "Right, we can go to college while working, My father wants me to be a soldier like him, but I think I want to go to college first, and then think about what to do. Since my dad wants me to enlist in the army right away, he doesn't want to support me, so I need to find a job. You know how hard it is to find a job in this city."

Devon was right, finding a job was very difficult, unless you wanted to create your own business.

"Alright, let's build a business together Devon!" Aslan said, happy that he had a friend.

"I want to too! I'm very good at business, I'll teach you how to create online stores, websites and more," said David.

"I'll see you guys first, but I'll help," said Jaden.

"Thank you all."

They left the shop, and went back to walk around. There were many shops selling various fashion items such as hats, shoes, shirts, jackets and others.

Aslan realized that his clothes looked more haphazard than the others, like there was a real gap between them.

[Master gets a new mission!]

[Spend 300 dollars to buy clothes and other accessories, be more handsome!]

[Reward: the money spent will be doubled]

[Punishment: none]

"I think I should buy myself some nice clothes, I look like a hobo" muttered Aslan, which of course was overheard by the others.

"You're right, buy this!" David gave Aslan a peach-colored hoody.

After that David, Jaden and Devon picked out clothes that they thought Aslan would like to wear, until the pile of clothes made Aslan's hands cramp.

"Okay, that's enough! I'll just buy this, no need to add more, my hands aren't enough!" complained Aslan.

"You still have to buy shoes," David said.

"How about a hat?" Jaden asked.

Aslan gave up and let them choose whatever they wanted. They thought Aslan would just pick a few pieces that he thought fit, little did they know he would buy everything.

The beautiful tan-skinned cashier looked at Aslan dimly, "can you afford all this?" The cashier asked as she inspected Aslan's appearance from head to toe.

Aslan agreed that he looked dirty, but he thought it was too much if the beautiful cashier looked at him lightly, Aslan was still a customer.
