"A husband?"

She nods in affirmations. She stares down at the small flower that she is holding and slowly starts to take out one petal after the other.

That's when it clicks in Angus' head, she doesn't remember one single thing about him. She remembers her marriage status, and that's just about it.

"Where is your husband, then? Doesn't he care that you are about to be married off to one of those losers?" He points back to the house.

She looks up, with very little care in her eyes.

"At least I will have a husband and won't be so miserable." She shrugs. "I've heard the insults from people, my father is right. A husband is what I need."

He hates that she speaks this way of herself. He wants to lift her chin and tell her that this is not the kind of person that she is.

She is a boss girl, wanted by many men, and is the envy of many of their competitors. She is not a self-pitying woman who wants to be sold off like an old commodity.
