Angus knows that his mother is mad at him, he can tell because she doesn't say a word to him as he drives to the restaurant.

She keeps sulking, staring out of the window.

Angus is worried about his grandfather threatening him to drop bothering everyone about his parents' killers, but now he is also worried because his mother is mad at him.

"Mum, aren't you going to say anything?"

No answer, she is acting as if she is the only one in the car.

"Mum, you have to understand that he doesn't want to tell me the truth about what happened with my parents. Would you like it if your son was a coward that didn't avenge the death of his parents?"

Now, she looks at him. Her eyes haunt him.

"Is that why you were rude to your grandfather?" She fires. "Is that why you behaved as if I never trained you well?!"

Angus is dumbfounded.

"Mum, is that why you are mad at me?" He snorts. "You should have, I am an adult."

She takes in air sharply, her hands held together and pressed against her lips
