CHAPTER 6

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(ROBERTS LAB)

Mark, Kyle, Ben, Nesa, and Ronda were present, all having personal conversations when Dr. Robert came in; he had a smile on his face, and as he dropped a briefcase which was in his hand, he spoke, “hello guys! It’s been a while…”, sighs and Mark replied, “oh you’re here, Doctor Robert... to continue killing me?”, Ben smirks and added, “we now know your secrets, you and Johnny Tony”.

Dr. Roberts chuckles softly, “are you serious? I think I should leave for now”, he scoffs. Nesa blocked his way saying, “no you’re not, tell us everything Johnny is planning and what he has done”, Dr. Robert knew he had been caught in the middle of this, he laughed like a lunatic, and then stares at Mark, while he yells,

“like you’d let me go free if I tell you what we’ve done. Look… Johnny and I killed your father, I killed your mother, she could have survived the accident which Johnny planned but I finished the job”, Mark was furious already, then he yelled back,

“and the child in her womb, you did this because of your greed!”, Dr. Roberts smiles and nods, “yes I guess, the plans Johnny has for you are greater than you can ever imagine, you’ll be surprised, even if you kill me, my part has been played, my job is done, there are many more people who will continue it, for the great cause”. Ronda scoffs and said, “you think we don’t know them all already? Those military officers, cops, politicians, businessmen and women. Every one of you will be jailed, and that’s after proving to the world that Johnny Tony isn’t humane, and doesn’t deserve to live”

“she’s right, I’ll let the world know everything just like my dad revealed his father’s secrets, then we will reveal you all after that,” Mark said, and concludes, “But for now, you’ll be in our custody”, Dr Roberts grins and yells, “keeping me alive will be your greatest…!” His statement was cut short by Nesa who knocked him out from behind, “sleep tight motherfucker”, she said.

Mark asked suddenly, “where is Mary?”, they had no idea, but Kyle answered saying, “well, we don’t know. Her house… maybe”

Galloway and Victor were outside some kind of secret cave, which had a mechanized door, and to get in, you would be in need of either a password, an id scan, or a fingerprint scan. Galloway smiles and said while he stared at Victor, “alright, get us in”. Victor looked at the ID card scanner beside the door, “once we go in, I won’t be satisfied if we don’t leave with what we came for”, he replied.

Victor held Galloway’s hand and they walked through the door, phasing through it. On getting in, they saw engineers and soldiers in a very large room filled with computers, machines and weapons, even trucks as well. They turned to the two, and one of the soldiers yelled, “hey! who are they? How did they get in here?”, two soldiers went forward to them and Galloway raised his hands like he was gonna surrender, “we’re here, for a big heist”, he chortled.

He clenched his fist so tight, and they all began to fall to the ground one by one while Galloway and Victor were moving forward. In no time, they were all down on the ground and Victor said as on opening a big truck, “oh, the bomb is here!”, Galloway smirks while he nods, “good, get that other truck over there (pointing at another) and we’ll fill it up with some of the little things we might need”.

Victor replies, “alright, this was very easy actually…”. Galloway added saying, “easy for us to get cause we worked together, now we’ll give some people a tough time with what we got easily”

Mary was alone in her house seated, it was obvious she had been thinking, the door creaks as it opened slowly without a knock; Mark came in, she didn’t even notice his arrival, he clears his throat and spoke, “Mary…”, she was startled that she dropped the phone in her hand, she sighed and stared at him, before saying,

“what are you doing here? Why are you here?”

Mark replies softly, “I’m sorry about what happened, I know you were frustrated, I was just carried away… but I hope that doesn’t happen anymore”, Mary retorted back sharply, “okay, cause, when team members tend to have anger issues, then there won’t be teamwork, you have to learn to control your feelings sometimes, I used to have anger issues against my dad, I got it from him, but he became smarter when my mom died, he was careful, he took careful decisions, he avenged my mom smartly, and not with rage, we’re up against one man right now, and we can stop him if we outsmart him”.

Mark sighs and added, “you also stopped having anger issues after your dad avenged your mom”.

Mary nodded and said, “I know we have more than one enemy at hand right now, but they will be dealt with in different ways, depends on us to find out how we will do that… and we have to be ready all the time”

Ben was carrying two bags and was standing outside Roberts Lab with Kyle, Ronda, and Nesa. Ronda hugged so tight with a smile on her face, while saying,

“I’m gonna miss you babe. Don’t worry, while you’re gone, I’ll handle the tech stuffs here”, Ben smiles and chuckles softly, “alright, nice…”, he said, while Kyle asked, “when will you be back?”. Ben looked unsure of the exact date, but he answered, “in a month or two, I won’t take too long, I’ll be back before you even know it”.

“okay man, bye”, Kyle said. Ben smiles sheepishly, “Bye…”, they waved at him as he was going while he then got a call from one of his contacts called ‘Tasha’ He picked up the call while he was about getting into a taxi, he said into the phone, “… oh, I’m leaving this place today… I’ll be there”

(JOHNNY TONY’S HOUSE)

That night, Johnny Tony was with the others whom he made plans with, they were all talking at the same time, but he wasn’t listening; he looked very angry, about to explode in anger.

“Robert is not here!”, he yelled, “He failed… it means he failed, and by now, they know everything that happened, and probably what we’re planning as well”

One of the men asked worriedly, “now what do we do?”.

“hasten up the processes and let’s do what needs to me done… I will kill him”, Johnny finalized.

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(MARK’S HOUSE)

Mark was with Bethany and both of them were eating snacks as they were watching a romance movie, suddenly, their phones beeped, as they received a message at the same time. They stared at each other in surprise as they read the contents of the message, which was,

“Morning Sunshine City! You’re about to experience something you’ve never experienced, and that is a total breakdown, very soon, a large missile will blow up everyone and you won’t be able to stop it”

The Tv glitched and suddenly began to show the live recording of Galloway and Victor speaking about the explosion plans. Bethany gasps and said to Mark,

“we have to inform everyone,” they were hearing noises outside, and hey quickly rushed out to see what was going on; people were gathered all around out of their various houses murmuring as they stared at a flying machine up in the sky. Mark’s mouth was wide open, “oh no…”, he exclaimed.

(ROBERTS LAB)

Mark, Mary, Bethany, Kyle, and Nesa were there together already, and Mary said in a command tone, “we must find those people”, Bethany replies sharply, “the military are on it actually, but we have to find them too, cause I don’t think this is a drill”. Kyle sighs, “that thing up there… we don’t know what it is”. Mark grins and replied, “I’m going in, they might be there right now”.

“that’s half a good idea,” Mary said, “and I’m taking that as the last option if we don’t find them quickly”.

Nesa asked abruptly, “where is Ronda?”. Others wondered while Mary replies, “…her house I guess”

The people were panicking and the defense forces were stationed almost everywhere; a lot of people were watching live recordings of Galloway speaking as he said,

“but if you wanna save the city, there’s only one thing you’re gonna have to do, every one of you should send at least 10% of whatever you have in your bank accounts, we won’t be fooled, cause if you don’t send 10%, we will know, just as we got access to all these, we’ll have access to know everything, your time starts now, the clock is ticking and you have less than 30 minutes, we’ll send the account details to you in which you will send the cash, quickly”

People began to get messages again.

High profile men and women with high ranking officials were having a meeting and a military general said,

“do not worry, the city will be safe, whoever they are, they are not as smart as we are, we’ll monitor all accounts in which excess cash Is getting into repeatedly, locate the owner and find the fools”, a man came in saying, “they are very smart actually, cause they sent different accounts to different people, and it’s confusing, we can’t monitor all…”, they were all surprised and a politician yells,

“then we should just give them what they want, and that’s all… just 10% and you can think of nabbing them later… right now, we’ll do as they said”

Galloway and Victor were now outside a company, crowded by its workers who were also busy. Galloway was putting on a black device on his head and his wrists as well, while Victor was holding a machine gun, they entered and as the people saw them, as well as the soldiers stationed there, Galloway raised his hands and folded his palms; thereby clenching his fist, then they all began to fall before he even got close to them. They continued going forward while Victor was shooting some people, till they got to one of the ‘no trespassing’ offices. They entered, and saw a big black locked box, Galloway cackles and said to Victor, “it is done, we can’t be stopped”

Ronda was in her house working on two computers simultaneously, as she was switching from one to the other. The door opens slowly as Mary, and Nesa came in. They were amazed at the sight of what they saw; different kinds of tech and computers everywhere.

Ronda said to them knowing they were the ones, “don’t just stand there, grab a seat”. They closed the door and Mary asked while coming closer, “what is all this? And that… suit?”, she said while pointing at the machine suit.

Ronda smiles and adjusts her neck, “you’ll find out soon… Power on”, she said, and the suit switched on; Ronda continues, “we have two guests in this room”. The computer voice replies saying,

“Mary Stark and Nesa…”.

Nesa exclaims and replied, “wow, nice, so what’s going on right now in the city?”, the computer answered again, “an act of terrorism… fear. The people are scared of dying, Galloway and Victor just attacked a company right now, this is the video surveillance”.

A computer showed how Galloway and Victor stole while Mary yells, “this is freaking crazy, we have to stop them, they distracted everyone for what they wanted to steal, and somehow they sent different account numbers to people”.

“yes, but they have access to all those accounts and can steal money from any account at any time, so those money are just going back to different people elsewhere”, Mary scoffs under her breath, “alright, but do they really have a bomb that can blow this city away?”, she asked.

The computer answered saying, “yes they do, this is from a video surveillance from 5days ago in a secret cave”. They saw the recording of how they took the big bomb, along with other useful materials. Ronda said,

“alright, but I noticed something from today’s video, Galloway was putting on a device on his head and wrists, is that what he uses for his powers, or for a larger scale of usage?”. The computer replies sharply, “larger scale, very large and more effective”.

Nesa asked, “okay, where could they be right now?”, Ronda replies, “well I don’t know… yet”. The computer then answered, “in that unidentified flying machine above the city”. Mary was surprised and she asked,

“how would they get there without people seeing them?”, the computer answers again, “they have a device that creates portal for teleportation”.

“okay I’m gonna call Mark right now to get there quickly”, Mary said, but Ronda replies “you don’t have to, this will be a lot faster”, Ronda began to type fast on the computer saying, “send to the military, air force, everyone, that those guys are up there, send to Roberts Lab too so Hero can see it”. The computer replies, “loading, almost done… Done!”. Nesa’s jaw dropped, as she was dumbfounded, then she said,

“wow, that’s quick”

.

Everyone was getting messages and at Roberts Lab they also saw it then Mark sped out already dressed as Hero.

The live recording of Galloway began again, while he spoke,

“now you have less than 5 minutes and few more stubborn souls haven’t sent theirs, like the governor who’s in a meeting with some men here, right now, Johnny Tony too, and some businessmen have not sent their 10% (chuckles) they could be the cause of your damnation”.

The people were staring at the flying machine which was about to leave as it was going higher then suddenly Hero arrived and yelled as he flew at the machine and punched it once which made it roll away in the air then the machine powered up and came flying towards Hero who shot heat vision from his eyes at it while the machine shot blast of laser bullets at him causing him to fall to the ground from above, creating a crater.

The recording being made by Galloway didn’t stop, it was obvious he was in there, then he yelled,

“1 more minute and still some people have not concurred, Hero won’t be able to save you!”. The people were terrified while Galloway smiles and said, “the governor and other businessmen have agreed to my terms, few more lowlife citizens left, are they asleep or just stupid? One more minute”

Some people began to run around in fear while Mary said through the earphone to Hero, “go get those assholes before they escape”. Hero yelled loudly and boosted up in the sky towards the already flying machine, then he speedily broke through it as he brought them out while the machine explodes up in the sky. Hero brought them down to the ground cuffing them with special ultrahuman cuffs and then handed them over to the military, Galloway yelled at Hero, “we’re all gonna die, you can’t stop the bomb anymore… it’s too late!”, Victor was also laughing, while Galloway continues, “and now… 3…(everyone’s screen was showing the countdown) 2… 1… BOOM!”.

There was total silence everywhere and no one was running nor screaming, nor talking, they all stood on their positions and Mary said through the earphone to Hero,

“don’ worry, Ronda has stopped the bomb”, Victor and Galloway were looking around in surprise, Victor yells, “why isn’t it exploding?”. Hero chuckles and replied saying, “cause you’ve lost”. Hero levitates and the people began cheer, screaming with joy and some were shedding tears, they were all chanting Hero’s name repeatedly and Reporters were already asking questions, which he seemed to give no attention to.

In no time, cars arrived and the governor came out with other officials, as well as some who were once plotting with Johnny Tony to kill Hero, one of the reporters yelled on top of her voice, “HERO, you saved everyone today, what do you have to say?”. The governor replies, “he deserves an award”

Hero sighs and replied, “well, you shouldn’t thank me, I’m just strong and a superhuman too, but the fact is that the one who saved us all today is just like everyone here, a young lady to be precise”, the people were surprised and the governor asked, “who is she?”.

Hero replies, “another surprise is…. It’s not one person, they saved us, but the one who stopped the bomb from exploding was the one who made it known to everyone that Galloway and Victor were up there in the flying machine, thank her… not me, but I can’t tell you her name, that’s all”. Hero flew up speedily and was soon out of sight as they looked up in the sky.
