CHAPTER 5

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(MARK’S HOUSE)

Mark and Bethany were at his house at night, he kissed her forehead as she went on to the bedroom to sleep while Mark stayed behind in the parlor, watching a movie, he got up and headed straight to the fridge, then as he opened it, he suddenly felt a pain in his chest, he grunts, then he brings out an energy drink, went back to seat and drank from it.

Mark sighs and said to himself, “why am I feeling weak? the injections Dr. Robert gave me should be making me stronger… not weaker”, he wondered.

(THE NEXT DAY)

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

Mark, Mary, Ben, Kyle, and Nesa were the only ones there, Ben was busy with the computer, there was silnce until Nesa said suddenly, “so, when will you be ready to fight Moza?”. Mary answered saying, “oh that’s true, Mark…”. Mark shakes his head saying, “I have no strength to fight for now”, Ben looked surprised as he took his hands off the keyboard, and replied, “take one of the injections”.

Mark disagrees, “no I’m not, it seems to be getting me even weaker, I don’t understand”, he said, and concluded, “… I’ll stop using it and ask Dr. Roberts why it gets me weaker”.

Ben replies, “oh, okay… overdose affects sometimes”, Kyle shakes his head and said,

“this isn’t about overdose, I used the injection recently and immediately felt stronger, but later without stressing myself, I was extremely weak… weaker than ever”. Nesa smiles and said to them, “all I’m gonna say is, don’t trust Dr. Roberts… I guess I told you that when we met”.

Mary gasps softly, “history keeps repeating itself, I hope it’s not what I’m thinking”, she said, while Ben replies, “wait, I need to talk to someone right now”, the door flung open and Ronda (Ben’s girlfriend) came in, they were all surprised and were staring at her. Ben said on seeing her, “and that someone is her, my girlfriend, Ronda. She knows you all already, an intelligent hacker, tech guru as well”.

Ronda sat and said, “hi, I’m Ronda Chapman, Ben’s partner, I’m here to talk about Dr. Robert”.

They were watching a recording on the computer which she made, it was of Dr. Robert walking in a restaurant and looking around suspiciously. Mark asked, “who is he meeting with?”. Ronda exhales and answered, “wait for it, but you have to control your anger when you see”. The camera got closer to the restaurant and behold, it reveals the face of who he was speaking to, he was meeting with Johnny Tony who handed a briefcase of injections to him.

They were all stunned by this. Mary’s mouth was wide open, then she said,

“so, he’s been working with Johnny Tony, which means Johnny knows you’re Hero”. Nesa rolls her eyes and replied, “finally revealed”. Ronda asked Nesa, “why don’t you have an identity?”. Nesa smiles and replied “because I’m not from Earth, I’m from Planet Hulton which you know nothing about… and an enemy called…”, Ronda cuts in sharply, “… Moza came with you”

.

Mark was shaking angrily and he yelled, “he was never on our side, he never has been!”. Mary replies, “we’ve got two enemies on our hands now, who should we deal with first?”, Ben replied quickly,

“not two, three… an old friend of mine attacked Ronda and I, by just folding his hands, everyone fell to the ground”, Mark sighs and said, “I won’t let my anger control nor decide for me, Moza first. Nesa, where is he?”

(JOHNNY TONY’S HOUSE)

Johnny Tony and Dr. Roberts were together, then Johnny said, “you know… I want us to kill Mark together, just as we killed his mom, and also his dad”, Dr Robert chuckles, “I bet by now, wherever Mr. Bryan is, Heaven or Hell, he’s gonna know I finished the killing of his wife after lying to him that she was dead”, he said while both of them burst into laughter and Johnny replies,

“very soon, his son will join him, but I’m thinking we should send Bethany to them too, so she can be their daughter-in-law in the afterlife, we’ll send all the others too”. Dr. Elias came in and said, “the project is almost completed, soon Hero shall meet his doom”

On an open ground, Hero, Miss Awesome, and Nesa landed right in front of Moza who stood like he was waiting, he grins and said, “you know… a lot of people can’t be as patient as I was. Well, I was patient cause I was confident I’d beat you, after your powers were copied and granted to me due to my achievements, I trained myself day and night, waiting for this moment of glory to face off against the true owner of the powers, so I can beat him, kill him and take him to Hulton where he’ll be a tool”.

Nesa retorted back sharply, “Moza, that won’t be possible, you’re up against three of us, you’re outnumbered”. Moza scoffs and replied, “no, I’m up against just 2, Hero and Miss Awesome, don’t count yourself, because you are nothing, you’re just a weakling, and I’ll kill you last after watching those you believe in die”

.

Hero came forward confidently, with a stern look on his face, he said,

“then let’s just make this you and I, both of you should stay back, I’ll handle him… you picked the wrong time to be on our world, you should have killed me before I became Hero, cause now that I am, nothing can stop me, not even a counterpart like you”.

(SUNSHINE CITY)

Hero boosts forward at Moza and punched him on his chest, pushing him backwards as Moza went skidding on the ground which cracks. Moza flew up high and Hero did the same, following him. As he was about to deliver a punch at Moza, Moza reacts quickly and dodged while he landed a punch on Hero’s chest, with fire in his fist. Hero almost fell to the ground but he regains his balance while mid-air, and he came back at Moza, shooting heat vision from his eyes. Moza was blocking it with heat vision too while both of them were yelling.

The citizens of the city were watching, from below, while some cars on a bridge began to stop to watch them fight. They were amazed on seeing someone with Hero’s kind of powers fighting him.

Moza grabbed Hero and swung him at a mansion causing him to break through the glass and into an office. The people were startled, and quickly ran out of the office, taking the steps instead of an elevator. Moza came flying in, he chuckles and sped towards Hero punching him so hard, that the latter crashed through the wall, flying out through the other side of the mansion. While falling on a smaller building beside the mansion.

He rolls on the ground, then Moza landed beside him, grabbing Hero quickly to throw him through the mansion again, as he broke through into an office, but not the one at the top, this was at the midpoint. Moza was throwing Hero back and forth and the walls were cracking already. Hero was helpless and couldn’t do a thing, he was getting a beating of his life and he couldn’t even strike back?

Miss Awesome said to Nesa, “this isn’t good… he’s gonna destroy the building, he’s breaking it apart. Wait here”. She quickly flew to the mansion and saw the upper part of the building was falling to one side, if it fell, it would destroy other buildings and take lots of lives.

Moza said to Hero yelling, “now watch me destroy everything, and you can do nothing about it!”. Hero grunts and flew towards the falling part as he quickly stopped it from falling with his two hands. Miss Awesome was saving those in the falling part already while those in the lower part had evacuated.

Hero was groaning in pain, then Moza said while mid-air as well said, “it will fall… if I do this”. He boosted towards Hero and punched him so hard that he went flying backwards in the air without balance while the building continued falling and things were falling out of the offices.

Miss Awesome began to use the wind to stop it. Moza sighs and was about to attack her when he got hit by heat vision from Hero who was now back there holding the building with his hands.

Miss Awesome continued with what she was doing, while Moza yells and punched Hero, but he didn’t move an inch. He began to punch him repeatedly but he didn’t let go of the building, but instead, he kicked Moza back and as Miss Awesome was done saving the people. Hero left flying with the upper part of the building, while Moza landed saying,

“while he’s gone, perhaps I can destroy something without interruptions”

Miss Awesome lashed back,

“no, you can’t, I won’t let you!”.

Moza adjusts his neck which makes a sound, then he immediately began to shoot fireballs at her but she was blowing them away with wind and suddenly, she blew Moza to the side and made him hit his head on an iron pole.

Moza shot heat vision at her and she fell while he began to walk towards her, he yelled, “you have lost”. Miss Awesome scoffs and replies, “you know we have an advantage against you?”.

“and what is that?”, Moza asked.

Miss Awesome chuckles softly, and answered, “because you’re on our planet, and even in our city, we will do anything to protect it from bad guys like you”. She stood up so fast and punched his jaw while also kicking his rib-cage, he grunts while she jumped over his head.

As he turned to her, she hits his shoulder with the side of her palm, hits his chest with two fighters, kicked the side of his knee, and punched his nose. Moza was pushed back, as he groans in pain.

She slid between his legs and on getting to his back, she kicked the back of his legs so hard he fell in his knees, then punched his backbone. Miss Awesome held his neck with her hands as she was making the wind hold down his hands and body so he won’t move, she placed one hand in front of his face and said,

“how do you wanna die? Without breath or with too much to take in?”, she began to make him choke while Hero landed, he smiles and said, “looks like you’ve got this”

Moza was choking already and Nesa also arrived, on seeing Moza, she asked, “what are you doing?”. Miss Awesome replies, “… killing him slowly”.

Moza’s eyes was closing slowly and then he opened his eyes wide and shot heat vision from his eyes at Nesa who was thrown back to the ground and also falling unconscious. Hero punched Moza resulting in Moza and Miss Awesome being pushed back, while Miss Awesome lost her grip of Moza, she was on the ground.

Hero came towards Moza, and as he was about to grab him, Moza stabbed him with a black dagger and surprisingly, Hero was pierced by it and Moza quickly left flying, Hero gasps and fell on his knees while Miss Awesome rushed towards him and said through the earphone, “Ben, something’s wrong”

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

Mark was on a bed awake and already treated while Nesa was seated on a chair, Mary, Ben, Kyle, Bethany and Ronda were also there, then Ben said, “could it be that he got injured cause the fake strength drugs made him weak?”. Kyle replies, “it could be, and why isn’t Dr. Robert here?”.

“Perhaps he knows we found out his secret, he could be watching us now”, Mark said

Nesa replied saying, “I don’t think it’s the injection. That dagger isn’t a normal dagger, it’s from my world, and it can pierce through Moza too, I haven’t come across anyone it can’t pierce yet”.

Ben exclaims, while he said, “wow, that’s freaky!”. Mary stares at Mark and yells,

“I had him already, I almost killed that asshole out there, and he used his last strength to shoot the heat vision at Nesa… he knew you would be furious, cause that’s who you are, and angry man, then you just attacked, you’re not even patient, he thought well before taking action…”

Bethany replies, “Mary, why are you…”, Mary interrupts sharply, “Beth! Don’t say a word, you were not there… okay? Moza had the chance to shoot the heat vision at Mark, but he didn’t, he made you save him from me, you’re just strong, but thoughtless”.

Mary stormed out angrily while Ben said, “what just happened? am I the only one who felt like Mary really got angry?”. Ronda sighs and replied, “I’ll go speak to her”. She went outside while Mark said,

“it’s my fault, and I paid for it with this wound which isn’t healing fast as it should, Moza made a carefully calculated decision. He’s sure smarter than I am, and Mary was right… I’m just strong and dumb”.

“no, Mark… you’re smart,” Bethany said, “the problem is just your anger from past experiences keep coming at you and seeing every bad guy as Johnny Tony, we gotta deal with the enemies we have the way we should, not the way we should do to another one, now he’s gonna be very much ready for us… so, we have to be ready too”.

.

Nesa agrees, “yeah, she’s right… Moza will return from wherever he’s hiding, and this time, he could take into action what he said he would do, he wants to kill all of us right before my eyes because I believe in you. Stopping Moza is saving two worlds”. Kyle was baffled and he asked, “how…?”

“if Moza is defeated or killed here, this city is safe, this world is safe to be precise cause Moza is just the beginning of the plans of the evil King, and second, if Moza loses, a lot will turn their backs on the king in Hulton cause they’re being forced to serve the king, and then my brother will overthrow and be the ruler, so our world will be safe too, though not entirely”.

Mark gasps and said, “I… I will make sure I stop him, that’s a promise”

.

Some guys and ladies were partying in a house as music was booming; they were dancing, Galloway suddenly came in and raised his right hand, clenching his fist, they began to fall to the ground, except one guy who was seated and staring at Galloway, the guy drank from his cup and sighed,

“Galloway,”, he said, “… it’s you, good to meet you, but why are you here?”. Galloway picked a wine bottle and answered, “I’m here for you, Victor. I need your help… to steal something big”.

Victor chuckles and asks, “big? Like… something really precious?”, Galloway pops the bottle and replied sharply, “nah. Something big in size”, Victor stretched his hand forward with the cup in his hand, as Galloway then pours him a little, “tell me more”, Victor demanded.

Ronda was alone in her house, it was stacked with lots of engineering tools, and computers, everywhere was littered with papers, and she was working on something that looked like a superhero tech suit; it looked feminine. She clicked a button on the suit and it shone blue light in some parts, then she said while facing it

“where is Doctor Robert Hicks, Roberts Lab in Sunshine City?”, a female computer voice answered almost immediately, saying,

“last seen today outside that house”. A computer on the wall showed Dr. Robert going into a large building with a briefcase, it was that evening. Ronda smiles and asked, “and whose house is that?”.

“the house of Mr. Johnny Tony”, it answered, while the computer viewed the city map, with a red dot on the location.

Ronda smiled even more broadly, “okay, access the cameras in there, I wanna see what’s going on”, she said. The live CCTV footage of all the cameras in the house began to show on the screen of the computer, she picked one where she saw Johnny Tony with Dr. Elias, Dr. Robert and some other men, as well as military officers having a meeting.

Ronda nods and said to herself, “this is it… thank you for your assistance, power down!” The suit’s switched off, as well as the computers while Ronda went straight to her bed to rest.
