CHAPTER 4

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

That night, Mark was asleep on a bed while the others were also there; Mary, Kyle, Ben, Dr. Roberts, Bethany, and Nesa. Bethany was beside Mark and she said to herself, “so, Mark is Hero… Mary, you’re Miss Awesome, I knew your voice was familiar, but his own was totally different… he saved my life”. Kyle replies, “same way Mary saved my life from that same guy”. Nesa sighs and said,

“well, now we’ve gotten Phantom, so no one’s getting hit anymore”. Dr Roberts stares at her and replied, “yes, but I still don’t trust you… yet. I’m going home now, goodnight everyone”

Inside a luxurious large house was a young man who had little hair; the one who was watching Mark and Bethany the other day, Johnny Tony, he was in his house seated with some of his high ranking workers having a meeting when someone entered.

Johnny was putting on a blue suit, and had a smile on his face, no beard, except a little shave. Someone came in, and that person was putting on a doctor’s coat, he said as he came in, “hello”. Johnny Tony replies saying,

“oh, Dr Elias, my man… everyone, this is Dr Elias… one of the two doctors who are preparing for my glory in this city”. One of the men asked, “what glory are you talking about?”. Johnny Tony smiled and answered “being the boss of this city, and also taking the life of an enemy of mine who is now… Hero in this city, Dr Elias will help me become much more stronger and powerful, while the other doctor will help me weaken Hero from the inside, he’ll be here soon”.

(MARY’S HOUSE)

It was now morning and Mary was eating breakfast alone as usual, she looked around and picked up her phone to message Ben saying, “morning, I’ll be there soon”. She stopped eating and as she turned, she saw the guy who dressed like a bouncer amongst the three who abducted Bethany the day before. He was putting on his spectacles as well, and black suit, she was surprised, and then yelled,

“who the hell are you and how did you get in here?”

He replied slowly with a very cool voice and a smile on his face, “wrong question… you know I can disappear… you think I don’t know who you are?... I do, you’re Miss Awesome and I can feel it, I can feel everything, and find anyone, I made Phantom act like the boss. I watched you all fight each other and I accumulated some amazing skills”.

Mary shot back saying, “since you know me, why are you here? Are you that courageous or stupid?”. He answered saying,

“I’m not stupid nor brave, I know I can leave at any time just as I appeared, I can disappear, but this is my gift for you”.

He removed his spectacle and shot heat vision from his eyes at her which threw her back to hit the wall and fell groaning. He puts on his spectacle again and said, “let’s just say… I can mimic all of your powers”. He disappeared immediately while Mary struggles to get up and part of her dress had gotten burnt already.

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

Mark was awake and with him were Kyle, Ben, and Nesa. Mary came in putting on a different outfit now, and said as she saw Mark,

“oh, you’re awake, that’s good”, she was breathing heavily and Ben asked, “what’s wrong?”. Mary sighs and replied, “you know Nesa helped us catch Phantom, while Punisher escaped and the third guy disappeared, well… I was attacked by the third guy, he copied all our powers, by all, I mean Mark, Phantom, Punisher and myself, so we have to stop him”.

Nesa asked “what about the Moza problem?”. Ben scoffs and said, “hey, we have an urgent situation and you’re talking about Moza? Why don’t you go fight him alone, since he hasn’t showed up for a fight then this one’s more urgent”

.

“I don’t know what to say”, Kyle said, Mark got up and said, “let’s go find Punisher and that other guy”. Mary replied, “okay, and we have to be careful”. Mark took and injection from Dr. Robert’s briefcase and injected himself then after few seconds, he shakes his head and said,

“oh yeah, I’m feeling stronger”. Nesa smiles and replied, “I hope Moza doesn’t abduct your girlfriend too”. She left the laboratory while Mary said to Kyle, “keep a check on Beth’s location, if anything seems wrong, tell us immediately”. Kyle nodded saying, “sure”

Moza was at a river bank standing and staring at the river, then he heard a voice from behind,

“hey! You knew I was gonna tell them, right?”. Moza turned back to see Nesa and he replies, “yes, I never trusted you, and I’ll take this chance to kill you”. He shot fireballs from his hand at her but she jumped to perform a side-flip and dodged the attack, Moza grins and said, “you know I’m gonna destroy you, so why did you come here?”.

“cause I’m very angry, and I don’t care if I die”, she said, while he said calmly, “I’m not that cruel, I won’t kill you yet, I’ll kill those you believe in one by one right before your eyes, then you’ll be the last, after your family”. Moza left flying as breeze blew dust off the ground, while Nesa watched him as he left, she said silently, “sparing me now will be your greatest mistake”

Hero and Miss Awesome went back to the same place Bethany had been taken to before and they saw the guy right there, standing as always, he said as they arrived,

“welcome, you have questions to ask, and now is the best time to do that”.

“why are you doing this?... who are you?... what do you want?”, Hero asked, and the guy answered calmly, saying, “I’m doing this because I have the power to do it, I am Photo Power, I called myself that… you can call our team of Phantom, Punisher and myself, the 3Ps. Lastly, what I want is different from what my friends want, I wanna see Johnny Tony dead (chuckles) Mark you see we have a common enemy”.

Hero looks surprised while Miss Awesome asked, “if Johnny Tony is your enemy, why are you fighting us? you’re trying to play mind games on us?”. Photo Power chuckles softly and replied, “smart and quick… I feel threatened by both of you cause you won’t let me do the things I wanna do”.

“you’re going down”, Hero said.

Photo Power scoffs and removed his spectacle which he puts into his pocket and said “we’ll have to fight. This is like a match of two against five”. Hero replied saying, “having the powers of four other people with yours doesn’t matter, this is about how to use them”.

(SUNSHINE CITY)

Photo Power took off his spectacles and puts it in his pocket, then Miss Awesome tried to blow him backwards with wind but he flew up high then came down speedily about to punch her but Hero blocked by grabbing PPs fist then he punched him with fire in his hands. PP came back and punched Hero as well, pushing him backwards, but Mary spins PP on a spot with the wind and pushed him backwards.

PP grins and shot heat vision at her, thrusting her backwards and rolling on the ground as she fell. He raised her up with the wind and punched her to the ground which cracks a little while she was coughing. Hero shot heat vision at PP but it collided with PPs heat vision which was now pushing each other back and forth while they were coming closer to each other. Hero’s heat vision was dominating and about to hit PP and as they got closer, Hero punched PP who then falls back to the ground, Hero began to punch PP repeatedly on the ground, then PP generated a green energy ball in his hands, and sends a blast at Hero who was sent flying few meters back and then falls to the ground.

Miss Awesome landed a super punch on PPs rib out of nowhere, he grunts and made two swords which he was trying to use to slash her but she dodged all the attacks and said to him,

“you don’t know martial arts, I do… it’s not a superpower, so you can’t copy me”

PP replied, “but I can finish you once”. He disappeared and appears behind her punching her immediately while she falls to the ground, face first. Photo Power chuckles and said,

“my power of five shall increase soon, I will go to each city with superpowered people, from New City, to Star City and Clifford City as well… my reign begins now”. He puts on his spectacle and disappeared.

Miss Awesome grunts as she was getting up and Hero was up already groaning, she said,

“we need to seek for help from other heroes out there, we have to stop him quickly… if we don’t, it will be impossible to stop him”

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

The team had gathered together, including Bethany who sat with Mark, while Mary was speaking and illustrating with a drawing on a board saying,

“my father, J*C is in Tokyo, with his team for a mission, so no one will stop Photo Power if he goes to Star City”. Kyle cuts in asking, “wait… J*C is your dad?”. Mary nodded, answering, “yes he is, and he doesn’t wanna grow old, still looking young and strong… ah, there are female superheroes in New City. Clifford City has protectors too, like Hotfoot. Now we have to go to them, for help”

Dr. Robert replies, “what if they don’t welcome you?”. Ben replied saying, “they will, they are heroes too, so surely they will”.

Nesa asked, “and if Photo Power copies all of your powers, you can’t stop him”. Mark replied saying, “we can, he’ll be outnumbered, and he can’t use all those powers at a time, he uses it one at a time”. Mary replied “I think he can use two abilities at a time…”. Kyle said, “if that’s it, then surely he’ll be taken down if there’s good teamwork”

Bethany sigh and added, “and if he releases criminals, what will you do?”. Mary sniffs and answered “I believe we can stop him and he’s definitely going to jail”

(THAT NIGHT)

(A RESTAURANT)

Ben was at a restaurant with a lady, she sat right in front of him, while they faced each other. She had a short black hair, and a bit yellow skinned, her name was Ronda.

“Ronda, I’m sorry I’ve been really busy with some works… “, Ben said, while she cuts in, saying, “with works you can’t explain to me for now, I get it, I’ve also been very busy working on something that could change view tech, a machine… you’ll see it when I’m done”.

Ben sighs and replied, “well, I’ll be travelling next month… to England, there’s something I have to do”. Ronda said looking curious, “do you know anything about… Dr. Roberts apart from just being a doctor, and a person whom you visit his lab everyday like you work there”.

Ben was surprised and he asked slowly, “how did you know that?”. Ronda chuckles softly, smiles broadly, and answered, “I’ve been watching you. I see Hero come out of that place and I know who he is… Mark Bryan, Miss Awesome is Mary Stark, I saw a female cop too, Bethany Shaw and her brother Kyle Shaw. I also saw someone who has no data, it’s weird… and abnormal…. You know I’m a hacker, right? Well I’ve hacked into Roberts Lab camera once… I can’t tell you how I did it, so you won’t hack me back”.

She chuckles and Ben replied, “so you know all that’s going on?”. Ronda nodded, and answered,

“yes, I do, but all I wanna know is, what kind of person do you think Dr Roberts is?”. Ben replies, “a good man, very good man”. Ronda stood up and said, “alright, I’ll take my leave now, I have something very important to attend to this night”

.

She suddenly fell down and other people in the restaurant began to fall as well, Ben was shocked and he was trying to wake her up, though her eyes were wide open, everyone looked exhausted except Ben. Ben saw a guy walking in with his right hand raised, and his fist clenched, Ben looked surprised as he saw the guy and said, “Galloway?”. Galloway smiles and replies, “Ben… I wanted you to see this… long time no see my friend”. He folded his hand tight and Ben also fell to the ground.
