CHAPTER 3

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

Later that day at Roberts Lab, Mary was now awake and was on a bed in one of the rooms. She was still on her superhero outfit, and then she stood up from the bed.

She came out of the room, now in a casual outfit which was quite big for her, she could hear Ben’s voice as she walked through the passageway, until she got to where they were; the main room with computers.

Ben and Kyle were having a conversation, and she interrupted saying, “hello…”. They looked at her and Ben quickly rushed to help her to sit on a chair. He said, “Thank God you’re awake now, how’re you feeling?”. Mary smiled and replies, “perfectly fine. Kyle… thanks for saving me today”. Kyle chuckles and replies “but you saved me from getting hit, if I had gotten hit, I’m pretty sure I’d be dead now”.

Ben said to Mary, “so Kyle is Bethany’s sister, which makes him like Mark’s step-brother”. Kyle sighs and replied, “yeah, maybe”. Mary asked sharply, “where’s Mark, where’s Dr Robert?”.

“you know Dr Robert is a very busy man, but as for Mark, he hasn’t been here today”, Ben answered, and Mary asked looking surprised, “why? It’s not normal, except… he’s doing something else again”. Kyle asked “like what?”.

Mary shakes her head saying, “doesn’t matter, he’s Hero… I’ll just call him”

(MARK’S HOUSE)

Mark was alone in his house thinking about the things Moza said to him, then he picked up his phone and began to make researches online when got a call from Mary, he answered it immediately, and said into the phone, “hi, Mary”. Mary replies, asking, “Mark, where are you”. Mark brushed his hair with his hand and answered, “home… any problem?”.

“not really”, she said, while Mark exhales and replied, “I wanna meet everyone right now… I’m coming, there’s something you have to know”.

That evening, Dr. Roberts was just leaving a restaurant with a briefcase in his right hand. As soon as he got outside, he was looking around in a way he could be suspected of doing something illegal. He was speaking to Mary on the phone and was about to get in his car when he was kicked by a masked lady.

He falls down while his phone fell as well, the lady was putting on a black metallic outfit which was fitted to her body, and was putting on a black mask as well. She said to him, “now I know your secrets, it’s cool though, but cruel of you”.

She kicked him and asked, “who is Hero?”. Dr Roberts answered saying, “you’ll never know, I’ll never tell you”. He chuckles and she said to him, “I’m actually waiting for him to come here”

Hero landed slowly behind the lady as well as Miss Awesome at the front, and the lady raised her hands saying, “perfect timing, take me to your lab”

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

The lady was tied to a chair and also handcuffed while Mark, Mary, Ben, Kyle, and Dr Robert were there staring at her. Her mask had been removed, and it was Nesa; who came with Moza to Earth, from Planet Hulton.

Mary asked, “who are you?”. Nesa rolls her eyes and replied, “well, I’m gonna tell you, but first know this, I let you capture me so I can come here to tell you everything, or else, your counterpart (she stares at Mark) will kill me!”.

Ben looked surprised, and he asked, “what do you mean?... counterpart!”, Nesa replied sharply, “yes, I’m sure he must have visited you Mark”. Mark asks, “Moza?”. Nesa nodded and answered, “yes”.

Mark exhales and said to the others, “I actually called all of you together cause I wanted to tell you about what happened today, a strange guy who called himself Moza came to me, said there are other planets with beings, like humans and he has same powers as I do”

.

Nesa replied, “he’s here to kill you, and then take you to Hulton. So, you can be made evil, you’ll serve our King, who murdered my father, the former King… I’m the rightful ruler there”.

“enough of this crap of a joke”, Ben cuts in, while Dr Roberts replied, “wait, continue”. Nesa replies, “okay, I’ll start from where everything began, when you were younger, you had a strange encounter with something, a white shiny box landed right in front of you…”. Mark cuts in saying, “and I touched it, then it flew back into the sky, that was the day my dad died, I was before I got back home”.

Nesa then continues,

“the box you touched was sent from our planet to locate any superhuman in order to copy the abilities of whoever it finds, you touched it and it copied your powers and straight back to Hulton, the powers were granted to Moza, who then began to train harder and you were being watched by our people, but now the time has come for the King to try making you a part of his. You will be the King’s servant, but I won’t let that happen, you have to stop him here so it’s gonna be easier for me to get my throne back and maybe… give to my brother”.

Kyle smiles and replied, “nice story…”. Mary grins and asked, “how can we stop Moza?”. Nesa chuckles softly and demanded, “release me first”.

“we can’t trust her, she almost killed me today”, Dr. Robert yelled, while Nesa looked at him and said, “I knew you’d say that because of the secret you’re hiding from your team”. Dr Robert chuckles and said to the others,

“you can’t trust her. She must be planning something big… to kill you”.

Nesa retorted back sharply, “and you must be planning something slow to destroy his life, am I right?” The others were looking surprised and they stared at Dr Roberts who was dumbfounded.

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

Dr Roberts said to the others, “she’s trying to play mind games with me, I was about to tell you that I’ve been able to make a drug which would make you stronger, Mark. In case you encounter enemies, you can’t handle, like the one Mary encountered today. (sighs) and it’s in form of an injection”. Nesa scoffs while Mark said with a smile,

“thanks doctor… Nesa, now, about Moza, where is he hiding?”. Nesa replied saying, “he’s not hiding, he’s ready at any time… but I don’t know if he wants to kill you before taking you”.

(NEXT DAY)

Bethany was speaking over the phone. She was outside the police station. Putting on a black shirt and black jean trouser. Her long black hair was packed to the back. She ended the call and got into one of the police cars. The driver was a female cop, and Bethany said while her eyes was fixed on her phone, “let’s go”. the lady smiles and replied, “okay ma’am”

After minutes of driving, they were soon on a road heading out of the city. Bethany takes her eyes off her phone and yells, “where are you taking me?”. The driver replies as she looked at Bethany, “to punish you… do remember me?”.

Bethany looked surprised and was about to bring out her gun but she was cuffed and there was no gun with her, her legs were also tied and she was even more surprised, Bethany yelled,

“I sent you to jail, how did you escape?”. The lady sighs and while she slowed down, she took off her police outfit, revealing a black singlet and her black trouser was still on. She replied with a wicked smile on her face,

“determination, to get back at you… now’s the time, no one will be able to save you now that I’m taking you out of this city. Phantom will kill you”. Bethany asked, “who’s Phantom?”. The lady bursts into laughter and answered, “My boss!”

(DR. ROBERTS LAB)

Hero, Miss Awesome, and Nesa were about to go meet Moza while Kyle, Ben and Dr. Roberts were to stay behind, Dr Roberts said as they were about to leave, “if it turns out that Nesa is deceiving you, what will you do?”. Miss Awesome answered saying, “then we’ll beat them up together”. Kyle said as he was staring at his phone which was with him,

“something’s not right, why would my sister be leaving this city”. Hero replies saying, “I just spoke to her a while ago…”. Kyle gave his phone to Ben who connects it to the computer and it showed the map of Sunshine City and a red dot on the road that leads to leaving the city, Miss Awesome smirks and said, “wait… you put a tracker on your sister?”.

“not exactly, but it’s for her safety, and she did it first, I also wanted to become a cop, she stopped me”, Kyle said.

Dr. Roberts added, “that’s like the speed of a car”. Hero picked up his phone and dialed her number but she wasn’t answering the call.

“let’s meet Moza and deal with him… now”, Nesa said, while Hero lashed back, “that’ll be after I know what’s happening, she would tell me if she was leaving for something important”. Ben replies, saying, “are you thinking what I’m thinking?”. Miss Awesome nodded and said, “except she’s been abducted by a criminal”.

(OUTSIDE SUNSHINE CITY)

It was a small wooden house close to a lake. And outside the house was the lady who took Bethany, she took off her cap revealing her blonde her. Bethany was tied to a wooden chair and her black hair now scattered. A guy putting on a bodyguard kind of suit with black spectacles and the thief whom Kyle was chasing the other day was seated on a chair. He said

“I’m sure you don’t know why I wanted you here, but you should know why I sent her to get you… because you sent her to jail, now she’s can kill you, but my reason is because you have a brother that didn’t mind his business when I stole something, he’s very much like you, he wants to save the day like his sister does, but I didn’t abduct him, cause you’re a cop, he isn’t… so I’m blaming you for his actions. My friend her (pointing at the lady) must have told you my name… Phantom”

Bethany asked, “what will you do to me?”. The lady replies immediately, “teach you a few lessons and let you go… to the afterlife”. Bethany gasps and asked, “you’re…?”. The lady cuts in saying, “no question… I’m Punisher”.

She created daggers out of her hand, and was about to poke Bethany when she was suddenly blown back by the wind which Miss Awesome controlled. Phantom also moved back as well, except the bodyguard who stood right there like he was staring at nothing.

Miss Awesome was mid-air with Hero, and they landed slowly. Miss Awesome was surprised Phantom, she yelled,

“you… you’re that thief!”. Phantom replies saying, “and you’re not dead? You should be”. Hero shot heat vision at Phantom and he was thrown backwards while Miss Awesome went on to fight Punisher.

They were fighting with their fists, but Punisher was making daggers and trying to slash Miss Awesome, who kept avoiding and stopping the attacks.

Phantom tried to blast Hero with the green force but Hero ducked and sped at him to deliver a punch which sent him through the wooden house, breaking through it. Phantom was about to get up when Hero landed on him and was punching him with fire in his hands, then he shot heat vison at his chest causing Phantom to scream in pain.

Miss Awesome unties Bethany while Punisher was on the ground, Punisher got up quickly again and Miss Awesome controlled the wind to spin Punisher on a spot but Punisher threw two blades at Miss Awesome which slashed her arm. Punisher quickly rushed to the car and drove away.

Hero got up from Phantom who was lying weak on the ground. Hero exhales and was walking away from Phantom when he saw the green force about to hit Bethany and Miss Awesome yells, “NOOOOOO” slowly. Then as everything moved slowly, he boosted towards Bethany and pushed her out of the way, while he got hit instead. Which sent him falling to the ground and immediately falling unconscious.

The bodyguard was still standing there and then Nesa landed behind Phantom and knocked him out with a punch, then the bodyguard finally spoke, “that was easy”. Miss Awesome who was looking angry was about to blow him away with wind when he disappeared into the thin air to their surprise.
