Chapter Sixty-nine

Mrs. Welsh went to bed with a heavy heart. Mitchell had gone to bed after the emotional and mental torture and stress that she went through. Shelly was seated outside on the patio. Chase joined her. She gave him a glass of wine and Chase sat down with her, a stick of cigarette in his hand. "I never knew you smoke." Shelly said.

"I do, but occasionally, especially when I am stressed emotionally." Chase said. Shelly sipped her drink quietly and Chase puffed his cigarette without saying anything. They sat down quietly for about five minutes before Chase broke the silence. "But I do not think James had to die because one lady was hurt emotionally." Chase

said.

"I agree with what you have said. I wish he told us about it. I wish he did not keep silent. James killed himself before he even died." Shelly said. "But it could have been avoided." Chase said.
