Alternative Medicine

"You!" James Glenn clenched his teeth until they chattered. "Aren't you afraid of my threats?"

Benjamin shrugged, saying, "Honestly, not at all. You're just spouting nonsense, so how could I be afraid? Unless, of course, you can summon a bouncer to throw me out of here."

James looked at Benjamin hatefully, but he realized that even with the entire network at his disposal, it was still not enough to allow him to beat Benjamin up in this hospital.

James hadn't really saved many important people in Regal Hill and made them indebted to him. He mostly did routine medical check-ups and got paid.

Moreover, he didn't possess any miraculous abilities that could save someone from a critical condition.

Even as the best doctor in Regal Hill, James Glenn was not well respected by the important people here. Only the lowlifes believed in all his nonsense.

"Young stranger, you're such a bastard!"

When she heard those words from James Glenn's mouth, Valerie's face turned ugly.

"Sorry, Dr. Glenn, this young man is Benjamin Frost. He's not a stranger; he's my guest. Please show some respect," Valerie said flatly.

Both of James' eyebrows shot up. He asked sarcastically, "Benjamin Frost? Oh, I remember him so well. So this is Diane Leuwis' useless husband? Oh, your beauty and the beast story is well known all over town, but I've never seen your face before. You are the legendary trashy husband and son-in-law!"

In response to such an insult, Benjamin was indifferent, and said casually, "I am not that legendary trashy husband anymore like what you said, we both just got divorced."

"Oh, really?" Suddenly, an abnormal smile appeared on James' face. "Does that mean I have a chance to start courting one of the Three Regal Beauties, Diane Leuwis?"

Benjamin didn't care at all; he simply said, "If it gets you to leave and stop bothering us, just go for it."

James immediately remembered their point here. He said angrily, "How could I possibly let a stranger engage in illegal practices inside my hospital?"

Even when Benjamin had not had time to reply, Valerie had already opened her mouth first to argue.

"Excuse me, Dr. Glenn. First of all, this is not your hospital; you are just an employee here. Secondly, I booked a VIP room, so according to the rules in this hospital, I am free to invite any expert doctor from anywhere as long as I still pay for this room."

Seeing Valerie defending Benjamin with all her might, James felt an inexplicable resentment.

Previously, he had long been eyeing Valerie, first lady on the Regal Three Beauties, to be his future wife.

James thinks he is the only man who deserves that girl. With his nickname as the most powerful doctor in all of Regal Hill, he was confident of subduing Valerie with ease.

However, the beautiful girl chooses to side with a trashy young man who has no skills in life.

James is sure that Benjamin doesn't even have a hundred dollars in his account. Whereas he had tens of millions of dollars in deposits!

He simply did not understand why Valerie was siding with Benjamin now.

"You make me upset, Ms. Morgan," James said. "However, what you're saying is accurate. According to hospital rules, you can invite any doctor from outside if you wish. But keep in mind, we won't provide you with any hospital facilities, nor will we take responsibility if something goes wrong with the patient. I suggest you think more carefully before making a decision."

Valerie shook her head, "I never cared if I disappointed you, Dr. Glenn. I wouldn't sue this hospital if something bad happened to my father."

"Think again, you'll regret it," James said.

Valerie's face was really upset now. "Do I have to repeat myself? You disgust me. Please get out of this room or I will call your manager right now."

James was furious and wanted to slap the girl's mouth right now, but he knew that Valerie's position in this city could not be underestimated.

Her Morgan family owned one of the largest and most influential companies in Regal Hill.

If Valerie called the hospital manager, then no matter if she was right or wrong, the manager would fire him.

James still wanted to blackmail more fools in this hospital, so he said, "Just because I followed the hospital rules, I'll let you deal with this jerk. But if you talk like that again outside of my working hours, you'll be in big trouble."

Right after saying that, James and his assistant walked out of the room with a contemptuous snort.

Valerie let out a long breath, and said, "I apologize for the interruption, Benjamin. There are many arrogant people in this world and he is one of them. Now, you can start the treatment. Hope you're not bothered by him."

Benjamin nodded and retorted, "It's okay. I never give a damn about that kind of bullsh*t."

he began to stick seven acupuncture needles at seven points on Mr. Morgan's body.

During the process, his sweat never stopped dripping. Although it looked very easy and simple, Benjamin had to make sure that the needles were at the right point and depth.

The amount of concentration that he exerted left him exhausted.

His efforts paid off. Within fifteen seconds after the acupuncture needle was placed, Albert Morgan opened his eyes.

"I... I'm still alive?" Albert looked around and found his loved ones around her.

However, his eyes stopped on a young man standing closest to him. Albert grew suspicious because the young man wasn't wearing a doctor's uniform.

"Excuse me, who are you? I look like I've seen you somewhere else."

Benjamin smiled as he replied, "Mr. Morgan, I am very happy that you can still remember a bit about my face. We have met a few times in the past. My name is Benjamin."

"Oh, Benjamin, I remember you..." Albert then looked at Valerie. His eyes were a little blurry. "Valerie, are you still with me here?"

Valerie held her grandfather's hand, tears streaming down her face. "Grandpa, Valerie is always here; your whole family is here for you!"

Johan and Susan also took Albert's hand, looking at him with emotion. "Dad, we're here for you, praying you'd open your eyes again. Surprisingly, you not only opened your eyes but started talking. All thanks to Benjamin!"

"Benjamin?"

"Yeah, when the doctors couldn't make any significant progress, Benjamin suddenly showed up and performed the treatment on you."

Albert turned to Benjamin. "Aren't you Benjamin Frost, one of Valerie's friends from law school? If I remember correctly, you never majored in medicine."

Benjamin smiled softly. "You are right, Mr. Morgan. I never majored in medicine. But to treat you, I used an alternative medicine."

"I never believed in alternative medicine before, but now I have no other choice but to believe in it. Heaven has shown its wonders through your hands, son." Albert tried to lift his back from the bed to thank Benjamin with a better attitude.

Valerie frantically helped her grandfather to go back to sleep.

"Grandpa, what are you doing? Your condition is still very vulnerable. Please don't act recklessly."

"Ah, this old man just wants to bow down and thank Benjamin." On his pillow, Albert's eyes looked at Benjamin sincerely. "Son, thank you for saving my life. I have an infinite debt of gratitude to you."

Benjamin waved his hand. "No need to be so respectful to me, Mr. Morgan. Valerie always helped me out during a tough time in high school, so now it's my turn to repay her."

After saying that, Benjamin signaled Valerie to follow him out of the room. He whispered, "There are still some things we need to talk about, but I don't think it's good for your family to know. Let's go outside."
