The Most Famous Doctor in Regal Hill

Benjamin arrived at WellCare Hospital on time in a cheap sedan car owned by one of his attendants.

After getting the room number occupied by Mr. Morgan, Benjamin took his suitcase of medical equipment and went straight there.

Opening the room door, Benjamin was immediately greeted by Valerie.

"Benjamin, you finally came."

Looking Valerie up and down, Benjamin was stunned.

Just like what the people said, Valerie's beauty already beat the angels in the ninth heaven.

The girl's skin was as white as milk and as smooth as porcelain. Even mosquitoes would slip if they tried to land on her skin.

Her curves were exquisite, like an ancient flower vase molded by a master.

Her fingers were slender, long, and supple. Her eyes were ethereal and menacing at the same time. And, her lips would make anyone curious to taste them.

"Ben?"

"Oh."

Valerie's call managed to wake Benjamin up from his reverie.

"I can totally help your grandpa get better," Benjamin said, holding up his suitcase. "But first, I gotta check out how he's doing. You know, gotta see what we're dealing with."

Valerie raised an eyebrow, looking a bit puzzled. "How exactly are you planning to do that? I mean, even the doctors here are kinda stumped. You don't have any medical training, and my grandpa's condition is pretty serious. Are you sure you can really help him?"

Benjamin shrugged casually. "Can't make any promises, but I'll give it my best shot. Step one: gotta get a handle on just how bad your grandpa's situation is."

Valerie, not holding onto much hope, sighed, "Well, we've tried just about everything else. Sure, come on in."

Entering the patient's room, Benjamin could see Johan and Susan, Valerie's parents, who also looked very anxious and scared.

Over by the window, on the other side of the room, an old man, Mr. Morgan, lay there looking pretty frail.

A tension hung in the air, accentuated by the sporadic hum of some life-support gadget in the background.

Benjamin let out a long sigh. With just a glimpse of him, he already knew that any hospital technology would not be able to keep him alive any longer.

Even with all the money in the world, Valerie wouldn't find anyone who could pull off a miracle for her grandpa.

That doctor asking for a whopping $70 million as a last-ditch effort? That's straight-up uncivilized extortion!

"How'd it go, Ben? Can you manage to save him?" Valerie asked, tears welling up in her eyes.

Susan spoke up after her daughter, "Benjamin, we're running out of options to save my father-in-law. The doctors want $70 million for a last-ditch effort, but we only have $50 million. If you can just get him out of the critical zone, I'll give you our entire fortune."

Benjamin did not understand what made Mr. Morgan so loved by his family that they were willing to give up their entire fortune just to make him wake up from his coma.

This was contrary to the cases Benjamin had often heard of, where children always wished for and even planned the death of their parents for the sake of inheritance.

The Morgan family was not small in this town. They owned a successful furniture business with thousands of exports overseas every day. So, the inheritance that Mr. Morgan would leave behind was not small.

"I'll give it my all," Benjamin assured, popping open his medical case. "Could you all step back a bit? I need a safe zone, about two meters away from the patient's bed."

Johan and Susan weren't exactly sure what Benjamin had up his sleeve, but they figured, why not give every shot a go? They took a couple of steps back, giving the young man some room to do his thing.

Valerie had always been skeptical about spiritual healing methods, even though she gave Benjamin the green light to try everything for her grandfather. As soon as she saw him pull out acupuncture needles and a cupping bowl, her forehead crinkled in immediate doubt.

Unable to resist, Valerie asked, "Are you going old school with traditional medicine, Benjamin?"

Benjamin nodded, still completely focused on his gear. "To pull Mr. Morgan back from the brink, this is the best shot I've got. Once he stabilizes, I'll whip up some concoctions to tackle that stroke until it's totally kicked to the curb."

"Cure a stroke completely?" Valerie's common sense kicked in, refusing to buy into it. In this day and age, with all the fancy tech, nobody could completely cure a stroke. The best they could do was rehab the patient to minimize the damage.

It's like entrusting the emergency landing of an airplane to a newborn baby.

It doesn't make sense.

However, Benjamin looked at her with sincerity and said, "All you gotta do is trust me. But, if you don't, I can pack up and head home right now."

That response got Valerie a bit panicky. She quickly reassured, "No offense, Ben. I believe you, I really do."

After that, Valerie walked a few steps back to give Benjamin more space.

Benjamin nodded his head and started walking towards Mr. Morgan with seven acupuncture needles in his hand.

Benjamin began placing the seven needles on specific points of Mr. Morgan's body. These points had tissues directly linked to the blocked blood vessels in the brain.

However, just as Benjamin was about to position one of his acupoint needles near Mr. Morgan's neck, the room's door swung open all of a sudden.

"Whoa, what's going on?! Knock it off!"

Benjamin turned around and found two young doctors walking into the room in a hurry and panic.

"What in the world are you trying to do, kill a patient?!" snapped one of the doctors.

Benjamin shrugged nonchalantly and replied, "Why would I want to off a patient in front of his family? Your words don't add up. I'm here to help cure the patient."

"Cure the patient? Have you lost your mind?" The doctor seemed far from pleased, scoffing, "I, James Glenn, have never heard that traditional medicine can cure a stroke!"

"Well, Mr. Glenn, you can stick around and witness it for yourself, or kindly make your exit and let me work in peace," Benjamin remained unfazed.

"Watch your language! You're dealing with the most famous and talented doctor in all of Regal Hill. I've saved the lives of many important folks, and they owe me big. They'll do whatever I say. Behave disrespectfully again, and I'll have them ruin your life!"

Benjamin cracked a sad smile. "Didn't expect the heir to the mighty Glenn family would need to call in favors to throw a tantrum. Guess that's how spoiled brats survive!"
