College Friends

Benjamin nodded in acknowledgment. "Lebron, it's great to see you again after all these years. Your loyalty still means the world to me."

The burly man hunched his back even more, tears that were never seen running down the rough surface of his cheeks.

"Young Master Frost, I could never betray you. Even if you asked me to wait for a thousand years, I'd do it willingly," Lebron vowed.

Benjamin inquired, "And what about the others?"

"Just like me, Young Master. They are still loyal."

Benjamin nodded his head, then immediately gave the order, "If everyone is still loyal, take me to the Frost Mansion in this city."

Lebron felt a bit puzzled as Benjamin bypassed the larger and more luxurious mansion in Aristo Heights, inherited from his father. However, as an obedient personal bodyguard, he didn't dare question his young master. "Yes, Young Master Frost. I'll escort you to the branch mansion in Regal Hill. Please follow me."

A luxurious limousine pulled up behind Lebron's black SUV. Several other bodyguards efficiently opened the car door and rolled out the red carpet for their returning young master.

Benjamin sat in the cozy limousine seat, poured some wine, and looked out the window.

"I just had a bullshit relationship with a woman who I thought could be my best man when inheriting the family inheritance. Five years that were a waste of time."

The limousine passed through the gates of Fort Valley, the exclusive residential enclave in Regal Hill, inhabited only by enigmatic business magnates with top-tier security.

Eventually, Benjamin's limousine came to a halt in front of the most magnificent and opulent mansion.

Benjamin opened the car door and stepped out without waiting for help from his bodyguards. He glanced around, finding a middle-aged man in a suit walking quickly towards him.

Bowing deeply and respectfully, the man said, "Young Master, it's a pleasure to welcome you back to the mansion. You've returned at last."

Benjamin flashed a wide smile. "Old Man Joshua, you appear younger than when we last met. You must have taken excellent care of yourself in this place."

Joshua Wilson replied with humility, "I've done all I can to stay fit and serve you, Master Frost."

Benjamin nodded in approval. "And how about the mansion, Josh? It must have gathered dust after all this time."

"I have ensured the mansion is well-maintained, Master. While you were away, I've been living here and tending to your affairs," Joshua informed him. "Perhaps you'd like to take a look at the changes made to the mansion?"

"That would be very interesting-" Benjamin had yet to finish his words, but his phone was already ringing.

When he realized who was calling, the look on his face turned more serious.

"Valerie?" muttered Benjamin. "Why is she suddenly calling me?"

Since his master had asked, Joshua responded, "If I am not mistaken, Valerie was your friend in high school, Master?"

Benjamin nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, she was. But we haven't been in touch for a long time. It's rather surprising that she'd call me out of the blue."

"I remember Valerie as a beautiful and kind woman, Master. She wouldn't reach out without good reason. Why not answer her call, Young Master?" Joshua suggested.

Benjamin was also thinking the same thing, so he quickly accepted the call.

A soft, anxious voice greeted him, "Hello, Benjamin, are you there?"

"Yes, I'm here. What's going on, Valerie?"

"I-I'm so sorry for interrupting your wedding anniversary, you are probably having dinner with your wife right now. I had to call you because of something very urgent."

Benjamin inquired with concern, "Valerie, has something bad happened?"

"You guessed it, Ben. My grandfather is in critical condition at the hospital. He's been suffering from Ischemic Stroke for three years, and this is the worst it's ever been. The doctors want to perform a last-ditch procedure, but it costs $70 million. Our family only has $50 million," Valerie's voice wavered, and it was clear she was in tears. "Ben, I've heard that your wife's business has been thriving lately, and you must have substantial savings. Can I borrow $20 million from you and return $30 million in a year? Nobody else is willing to help, and you're our last hope."

Benjamin furrowed his brow in astonishment. If Valerie's grandfather was currently in a hospital bed in a critical condition, then the action taken by the doctor should only be pain reduction so that the patient could rest in peace.

It would not cost thousands of dollars.

Benjamin had never heard that the acute stroke that had left his patient lying critically could be cured.

That fifty million dollars must have been an attempt at fraud and extortion!

At this moment, Benjamin's head felt dizzy for five seconds. It was like an arrow that shot out quickly and suddenly landed on his forehead.

However, in the sixth second, Benjamin's mind was suddenly enlightened.

However, in the next moment, clarity washed over him. Images of acupuncture needles, herbs, and treatment bowls filled his mind. He had gained a deep understanding of how to treat Ischemic Stroke in a matter of seconds!

He raised his hand to examine his father's heirloom gold ring, realizing that it had likely played a role in this miraculous knowledge.

"Hello, Benjamin? Are you still there?" Valerie's voice broke through his thoughts.

Benjamin hurriedly replied, "Yes, I'm here. I have some unfortunate news for you, though. Deane and I have separated. I can't borrow money from him anymore."

"Oh..." Valerie's voice turned softer. "I'm sorry to hear that. Ben, you have to be strong. I've heard about Deane's mistreatment of you. With the divorce, it will be a new beginning for you. Keep your spirits up, Ben!"

Benjamin smiled. As he knew her, Valerie Morgan was a woman filled with positive energy. Even when her own situation was not good, she could still encourage someone. This kind of sincerity made Benjamin feel a great sense of trust. He would definitely help Valerie.

"Forget about my ex-wife. Right now, your grandfather's health is the most important thing," Benjamin replied. "I may not have $20 million to lend you, but I can help your grandfather in other ways."

"Another way?" Valerie sounded confused.

"Please tell me the hospital where you are," Benjamin requested.

Despite her confusion, Valerie answered, "We're at WellCare Hospital."

"Alright, I'll be there in fifteen minutes," he promised.

Benjamin hung up the call, then said to Joshua beside him. "Josh, is there a small car I can take tonight?"

The old servant replied, "Mr. Frost left many cars in the garage for you, Master. If you want a small sports car, then you can take a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or perhaps a Tesl-"

Benjamin cut him off, saying, "I don't want a sports car. Just give me an ordinary sedan."

Joshua looked confused. "Master, you'll be meeting Valerie Morgan, who is considered one of the Three Beauties of Regal. When she sees you, you should look your best to captivate her."

Benjamin responded firmly, "I don't want to impress Valerie with money. Numerous wealthy suitors have proposed to her, but she's turned them all down, believing in true love. I want to ensure that her words hold true. I'm going to appear as a man who doesn't flaunt his wealth."

Joshua wrinkled his forehead. "Master, are you trying to make Valerie not just have an interest in you, but even  love you?"

Benjamin chuckled. "Did I ever say that? But let's forget these niceties. I need that sedan now. If I'm even five minutes late, Mr. Morgan's life might be at risk."

"Understood, Master," Joshua replied. "I'll arrange it."

However, before the old man could go too far, Benjamin called him back.

"Josh, do we still have my father's traditional medical equipment?"

"It's safely kept in the family heritage vault, Young Master. Would you like me to retrieve it for you?"

"Yes, please do that," Benjamin requested.
