Steve's face changed dramatically, the frown on his forehead deepening into pronounced furrows as the gravity of Jane's request sank in. Leaning in close to her, he brought his lips to her ear and whispered softly yet urgently, "150,000 dollars is my entire month's salary. We can't possibly spend it on a bag."

However, Jane's eyes narrowed with determination, and she hissed like a snake, her voice low and insistent. “We can use the savings, Steve. I don't want to lose my pride in front of Valerie and poor Benjamin.”

Reluctantly, Steve pulled out his credit card, his face now a mask of grim determination, all traces of his earlier smiles long gone. As he handed the card to the salesperson, Jane's face lit up with a smile of pure happiness and triumph, her earlier tension dissipating as her desire to match Benjamin's extravagance was set to be fulfilled. Meanwhile, Steve's gaze shifted towards Benjamin, his eyes filled with burning hatred and resentment.
