Chapter 12: Before the Storm.

Tringgggg…..Tringgggg….

The sound of the bell echoed throughout the room where the second test was being held. The examinees handed over their test papers to the overseer and they left the room one by one.

"Haaahhh ... Those questions don't make sense."

"Don't say anything about the test just now. None of the material I studied came out in those questions."

People talk a lot about the second test that was carried out. Even though they had expected the exam questions to be difficult, they didn't expect it to be that difficult.

Inside the classroom, Raven was tidying up her stationery. His face showed a bitter expression.

"Why? Are you not sure you can pass this entrance test?" The person next to him teased him. His face showed a smile as if he was not alone in this world.

"No, I'm sure I can get good grades on this second test it's just…" He wasn't sure how to put his feelings into words right now.

He was a regressor. People who returned to the past from the future. This should be an easy problem for him, having already passed this test for the second time.

Thus he understood one thing.

The person who created these test questions was a crazy bastard who didn't want anyone to pass. Even with all the knowledge he had after the regression and the preparations he put in, getting 50% marks was the limit he could reach.

"Hahaha…. I didn't expect that a genius like Raven Astrea could show such a face." Neilson couldn't hold back his laughter.

"Laugh all you want, at least I'm sure my grades will be greater than yours." Raven got up and walked out of the room.

"Hey, don't sulk like that….Wait for me."

Neilson got up and followed Raven. The two of them had been friends since childhood because their families were both very influential in the kingdom.

Especially Raven, Since childhood he has been said to be the best genius in the empire. At such a young age, he displayed unrivaled talent and defeated many of the kingdom's knights and mages.

Raven is also very intelligent and masters almost all the basic theories from various fields. He also mastered a highly sophisticated sword art that was even praised by various swordsmen throughout the kingdom.

Along the way, many female examinees couldn't take their eyes off the raven. Their faces were as red as strawberries and coy around him.

Neilson was quite curious about Raven so he decided to ask. "where do we go now?"

"I want to see Rachel. If I'm not mistaken, she said she was in room A-1."

"Picking up your princess again. You really can't be separated from him. I feel sorry for the girls in the back." Neilson glanced back. There, countless girls had followed them ever since the two of them left the room.

'Besides…' Neilson looked around, envious glances from the boys were shown towards the two of them. he was used to these stares, the problem was the odd glances a small percentage of boys and even girls gave them.

He felt goosebumps all over his body and decided to ignore what was on their minds.

The two arrive in room A-1. Inside there were only a few people left.

Raven was about to say hello to Rachel before she had to hold back a little laugh. There Rachel stared at her desk like an idiot.

"What are you thinking," Raven said while pinching Rachel's soft cheeks.

"Hey…hello…"

"…"

Receiving no response, Raven poured a bit of mana into his hand. The pinch got stronger and made her cheeks turn pink.

"Hey stop." Rachel responded and stroked her sore cheek. A frown could be seen on her face.

"Hehehe… your face is so cute. It makes me want to pinch it again." Raven teased him and tried to grab her cheeks again but Rachel got in the way and wouldn't let him do it again.

The atmosphere that was originally quiet became more lively with the two people. Some even looked their way and were attracted by the interaction and fun they had. They even enjoy it.

On the other hand, Neilson drew closer to Veronica.

"Hey, Long time no see. How are you?" Neilson coughed and tried to speak.

Veronica didn't answer. She focused on the paper in front of him. There, complicated and complex formulas are neatly written. That is the answer from the previous test.

"Hmmm…kuhmm…" Neilson had a smile on his face. He looked at her face and felt satisfied with it.

He had received this treatment many times. Even though Veronica never responded to anything he did, she felt very happy.

There weren't many people left in room A-1. Apart from the raven group, some people seem to be ordinary people.

Raven looked around her looking for someone. "Where is he?"

"...?" Rachel and Neilson looked at the raven with confused faces

Neilson asked curiously. It's rare to see his friend interested in someone. "Who are you looking for?"

Rachel also focused on listening.

Raven describes Ivo's appearance. "How should I put it, Yeah…He's an ordinary person. His appearance was the same as that of an ordinary person. He had no money and only wore simple cloth clothes…"

"Wait, wait a moment. Stop there" Neilson stopped him. He showed a flustered expression at her explanation. "Who exactly are you looking for?"

"OH…that's right, his name is Ivo Graham." Raven said to the point.

Neilson was confused hearing that. "Huh? Who?"

"Wait, he…" Rachel was surprised by the name Raven said. Before She could continue his words a voice caught their attention.

crack!!!

"...?" They looked at Veronica.

In his hand, the pen she used was broken in two. Her expressionless face changed slightly. Even though it was just a small change the three of them immediately noticed it.

"Veronica? What is it?" Neilson asked worriedly. He hardly ever saw Veronica lose her calmness.

Veronica shook her head. She ignored Neilson's question and bowed his head to Raven and Rachel. Her attitude was very graceful in line with her beautiful face, making Raven feel a little uncomfortable.

"Sorry, my hand slipped." She took out a new pen and continued what he was doing.

Raven asked Rachel. "What really happened?"

"Why are you suddenly asking about that person?"

Rachel looked sullen. Memories of what happened during the test were still fresh in his mind.

When the second test ended. The pressure in the room disappeared as if it had never existed. Almost everyone in there couldn't stand up any longer some looked like they would pass out if the pressure was continued any longer.

The worst case is just the poor girl still lying outside. No one cares about her. After the second test was finished, several people who were members of the medical team came and took the girl away.

Rachel and Veronica were the first to go straight to the superintendent.

Denver accepts indifferently. He didn't even waste time looking at their answers and tossed them aside. Very different from the papers neatly stacked on the right side of the table.

The two of them glanced at the paper.

Ivo graham. Only those 2 words are written on the front and the rest are blank. He was the first to clear the written test and the one who made everyone take the test under the pressure of terrible magic.

"How long are you going to see him? Go, hurry." He waved his hand and chased the two away while reading the book in his hand.

'I swear I'll pay you back' Rachel muttered silently. Because of that person, he couldn't focus on working on the questions at hand.

"I met him two days ago." Raven's voice woke Rachel from her memory. "I was just wondering where he went. From your reaction, you should have met him already."

"Don't know…I don't know…don't ask me about that person."

Raven was confused by the reply she got. 'What really happened?'

On the other hand, Neilson has one big question. 'Who is Ivo Graham?'

Both ask different things but lead to the same person.

DING!!!

[All participants who have cleared the second test are expected to head to the Academy Hall to continue the final test.]

The sound of the academy's announcement roused them from their respective thoughts and rushed to proceed towards the final test.

In the middle of nowhere. A shrine is surrounded by various kinds of tombstones forming a certain pattern. Thousands of people knelt and prayed incessantly. They didn't move an inch no matter what happened.

Two black shadows appeared in front of the shrine and knelt and bowed to the man inside the shrine.

"What's the plan?" A voice came from within the shrine.

A single voice that came from inside the temple stopped the prayers being chanted by thousands of people. Respectful looks could be seen in the eyes of everyone who was there.

Here, it is taboo to speak while the shrine guard is talking to someone. Even the two black shadows didn't speak a word before they were asked first.

"Everything is ready. We can carry out the plan right now, master. The other side is also ready." One of the black shadows answered with his head down.

"Keep moving according to plan"

"As you command." The first black shadow disappeared from the front of the shrine, leaving behind another black shadow.

"Say, is there anything you'd like to say?"

The shadow took out a letter and handed it to him. "Master, there is a message from the other side"

The letter floated into the temple. After a while, black flames burned the letter without even ashes remaining.

"Interestingly, first there was the owner of the eye that saw the truth, and then the heir of the undefeated king. This world truly is unpredictable."

The man hummed with a smile on his face. The people outside couldn't see what was going on inside the shrine but they could hear it no matter how far it was.

"May fate bring humanity to its end and death embrace those who accept it."
