Dr.Suess at work
The whole family watched as Dr Suess worked on her with awe. He worked so diligently on her, taking notes of the veins on her arms, and arteries. He told the family and Mr Bryce to go to the next room behind them while they watch from a glass that separated them while he works to avoid disturbances as this was the hospital policy.
The family and Mr. Bryce quickly obliged and went to the other and watched keenly while worked. One person who was paying more attention than the rest was Klay. Klay was skilled in medicine, a closely kept secret which nobody knew and he wanted it that way moved to the front where he wouldn’t get an interrupted view of Dr Suess performing.
Dr. Suess unclipped Kathleen grandmother gown, and gently massaged her backs moving towards her shoulders. Seeing this Mr Paul told Kevin, Kelly and Charles to go out and get some chocolate bars for themselves from the vending machine downstairs. Dr Suess moved up to her shoulders now, carefully tracing running his fingers to avoid any dislocation to her joints as they were very fragile.
Kathleen grandmother Camellia writhed in pains, and tried turning while Dr Suess tried soothing her, he tried to go as gentle as he could to avoid injuries to the bones. Seeing as she was turning profusely, obviously she was in pains he begged her to try and stay steady that it will soon be over.
Dr. Arshad quickly prepared ten cc of an anesthetic quickly in a syringe in case it was needed, while Dr suess continued massaging her pressure points, and directing the faster flow of blood down her veins. He continued with the process while Kathleen and family watched through the glass, holding their hands trying to provide each other comfort.
Klay noticed it and didn’t even bother, he knew that his “compassion wasn’t even needed” so he didn’t even bother to try. He moved more closely to the glass this around he was leaning on it. Dr suess was now massaging her chest regions. He moved carefully avoiding her fragile ribs, and rubbed her sides wholly with caution.
After twenty minutes of nerve cracking concentration that seemed like several hours, because Dr. Suess had to specifically locate each vein and massage it carefully to enable the flow of blood properly. Veins take deoxygenated blood towards the heart. Now in the chest region he had to be really carefully to avoid serious consequences.
Klay noticed that Dr. Suess was beginning to sweat which was normal, but he late noticed was the room was an air-conditioned room and he was sweating profusely. Klay noticed his cover cap was wet, and stuck to his skin something he found weird “because this was a simple exercise and a doctor of his reputation it was supposed to be a cake walk.”
Dr. Suess looking at Dr. Arshad asked him to check the monitor and gave him the readings it showed on the display. Dr. Arshad was skeptical at first because he knew he didn’t need the readings and it was just a ploy or diversion from showing him the secret path in massaging Camellia’s neck. Apparently, this method worked on the president wife two years back and he saved her life which gave him fame but he was a professional he went over to the screen and called out the readings.
“Heart rate optimum”
“Pulse is good, blood pressure is increasing steadily” he called out looking at the screen while Dr. suess backed him blocking his view to see what he was actually doing.
Klay noticed what was happening and looked very closely now, he had a bad feeling about this but he didn’t really know why. He stood up and stretched his arms, then turned around he noticed Mr bryce hand was holding his wife’s hand firmly but he couldn’t even care less.
Mr Bryce saw his gaze and quickly removed his hands quickly before anybody would notice it. klay turned around and watch Dr Suess. He watched how he massage her neck, placing his fingers between her veins gently massaging them.
Now it got to the more difficult part of the whole session. It was very critical because a wrong move in any direction would send her faster to the spirit world faster than cheetah could run.Dr suess ran his fingers on her jugular and her carotid veins avoiding her neck bones to avoid snapping them mistakenly.
Dr suess taking great care, massage the carotid veins carefully with his fingers with so much care he had to pause his breathing to avoid making mistakes. He breathed out, now he got to the jugular vein and placed his fingers on it.
Now Klay’s mind went back years ago when his master Lee thought him the ancient secret way of massaging various points of the body in Kyoto. He remembered vividly how master lee taught him on how to hold the vein without applying much pressure and how to direct the flow of blood to avoid causing the patient a heart attack.
Now Dr suess had held the jugular vein wrongly causing the blood to cease flowing, then he mistakenly misjudged the signs. He massaged the vein downwards but forcefully which caused the blood to flow at a faster rate to the heart. In next ten minutes he was over with the session and the whole family with Mr Bryce came to the room and joined them. Dr Suess told everyone to their delight it was a successful session and they were all happy.
Klay noticed what actually happened shouted nooo! Saying he made a mistake drawing the attention of everybody to him. Now all eyes were on him now, “what the hell did you say? It seems you have a degree in medicine we don’t know about” mocked aunt Renee. Klay now spoke with confidence, “well I know for a fact that he didn’t do the most important part of the session properly and if not corrected she would be choking in her blood in the next fifteen minutes and die in the next ten minutes later if she is not properly treated.”
The whole room grew quiet because this was a very serious accusation against Dr Suess. How dare you say a thing Camilla voice rose from the back ground “that I would die anyways I feel good, better even. Dr suess really did good work please don’t be stupid” she barked at him.
“Would you please get that bastard away from here pointing at klay” she told Mr Paul. Mr Paul quickly went and grabbed klay by the hand and forcefully shoved him to the door without warning, at first, he wanted to refuse to leave the room but he obliged.
“Before I leave here Dr. suess I am telling you, for your sake you made a mistake during the session and her life is in your friends” then he stepped outside. At first thought he wanted to move away immediately but he stayed back while they shut the door and listened to the conversation, they had amongst themselves.
“I thought he was useless, stupid when did he get this deranged?” she asked to nobody in particular. Do you think he is stable? sometimes I have seen daydreaming. He is just stupid echoed through the room.
Dr. Arshad excused himself from the room and stepped out. He saw the figure of klay walking down the stairs and quickly ran up to meet him. “Mr klay” he called out in quick succession trying to get his attention before he entered the service elevator. Luckily Klay turned back right on time and saw him coming.
“Mr Klay I am perplexed, what you said in the room is still turning around in my head right now. How do you mean that the session was done properly and how did you know rather, because it was a bold move you took considering how they treat you in the family?” He asked in between breathes.
“Let’s just say I have some insights in medicine and leave it at that” he replied Dr. Arshad. Knowing that Klay didn’t want to talk about it, he asked him for a favour which surprised Klay.
“Okay Doctor Arshad what can I do for you?” he responded looking at Dr. Arshad keenly noticing his features now. He saw he was most likely in his mid-forties, but he was sporting a white beards and hairs in between his black hair that made him look older.
“Can you please stay around the ward, judging by the conviction you used when saying Dr suess was wrong, don’t you think you should be nearby as you might be the only person who could be able to save her life. please stay, don’t do it for them do it for yourself, your conscience” he told him before entering the elevator.
“Okay I will be around” Klay responded with a heavy heart.
“I TOLD YOU SO”Camellia called her granddaughter Kathleen aside and asked her “what are you still doing with that useless husband of yours Klay, why don’t you leave him and marry that cute man friend of yours that invited Dr Suess over for my treatment? Now, don’t you give me that look as if I don’t know what I am talking about” she chided Kathleen?“I don’t know what you are talking about replied her grandmother. Mr. Bryce is just an old friend, who happens to have a lot of money. I don’t even have any feelings for him in general at all” she tried replying.“Shush! The little girl I am telling you what to do, see dear I am telling you what is best for you now. He seems like a reasonable young man why not give him a chance or do you think he won’t do any better than that useless fellow you have for a husband” she interrupted Kathleen who was trying to speak. “I just don’t like him and remember you can’t force love” she responded to her grandmom while waiting for a reply. She turned
* Klay the savior*Klay running into the room at full speed barged into Dr. Suess who was standing at the entrance of the room. They both fell after the collision, immediately Klay stood up and stretch his hands and help doctor Suess get on his feet. After helping Dr. Suess to stand he told him to come inside the room and take responsibility.“In the room, Dr. Amelia looked surprised when Klay entered and took a pair of sutures, and a scalpel from the table beside her and walked towards Mrs. Burgess. Hey what do you think you are doing here and why are you holding that” she asked him. “Relax he is with me” replied a familiar voice from the back, it was the voice of Dr. Arshad who was coming in with Dr. Suess. “He has an idea on how to save her and also stop the bleeding and yes the almighty Dr. Suess made a mistake so can we continue or do you want to argue about ethics when you can save someone from dying,” he told her when he saw her bewildered facing showing disapproval. Then Dr.
The AftermathHey Linda, Mr. Paul chased after his wife who ran out of the room quickly, while everyone looked on, it wasn’t their business even if it were a family matter this was just between them. Well Dr. Arshad, did you see how Mr. Klay managed to do it? Dr. Amelia asked him. Dr. Arshad looked at her and smiled well guess I can tell you but when I am writing my report, I would mention that you were present when the session was ongoing and you also participated. You know you can’t have your cake and eat it, so what is going to be? He asked smiling, he knew curiosity would get the best of her. Must you make me say it? you know I want to know why you have been hard to get the asked okay to make things right I will read over your thesis for your third book the one you are about to publish. please Dr. Amelia pleaded with him.“Okay I will tell you during the lunch break but we would trade shifts agreed?” he looked at her with a grin on his face.” Okay, we will but just for a day on
Who are you?It was a fine morning, which the radiant sun blazed the sky in its golden touch, passing through the foliage. The summer breeze blew gently carrying dust particles and the musky sweet smell of decayed fallen leaves around Klay Green who was visiting his parent’s tomb in Burberry Town. They died almost four years ago in a ghastly car accident he survived but barely, in the most bizarre of circumstances because the wreckage from the car wasn’t something one could walk out from. The lead investigator always told him “you should be thankful always because, you been here is impossible after that type of accident.”Klay always had a bad feeling remembering that day ,he always felt the accident was rigged because everything seemed to work against them that day, the traffic lights didn’t work, the car brakes failed, and even the auto-detection system for a smart car to fail like that the chances were too slim and the police didn’t investigate the so called accident. The most sh
The hospital Klay arrived at the hospital premise and quickly tossed his keys to the security man nearby and dashed in quickly, while the security man Andre parked his car. His wife Kathleen was waiting for him in the lobby with hands akimbo. Upon sighting him from afar she started yelling “where the hell have you been” to Klay who was now embarrassed.Klay looking at the crowd watching them quickly walked towards her and apologized to her,” sorry there was an issue that required my attention” so I had to attend it before coming here it was very urgent. What happened to her? have you spoken to the doctor?Kathleen hearing this flared up “required your attention? so my grandmother is now useless or what? Her nostrils became wider as she was ranting. “I didn’t want to marry you because you were broke, I am the one that bought your clothes and provided for the family while you were running around doing house chores with the maid and you dare say that to my face” she continued without ca
who is that man?“Hi I am Mr. Bryce, I’m the sole CEO of Bryce communication conglomerate,” he said to Aunt Renee and Mr. Paul extending his hands to shake them.” Is Kathleen here? he asked searching frantically with his eyes looking for the most beautiful woman in the world in his words. He always had a special liking for Kathleen over the years but couldn’t bring himself to her due to his inferiority complex back then but now things were different, he had status, wealth and the cars.Mr. Bryce was Kathleen's high school crush, who always tried to win her affection but couldn’t. Then Bryce was just a spoilt kid living off his parents’ wealth like the majority of the kids then but he was a slob, a dirty kid. Kathleen was the direct opposite of him, she always hated and despised him.Kathleen being attractive had sort of admirers back then, but Bryce’s was nothing short of creepy, even to the extent of taking her pictures without her permission and stalking her. Bryce changed school a
