As the evening sun began to cast its golden hues across the room, Joanna stood before the mirror, wrestling with a decision that might seem trivial to some but held significant weight in her mind: should she leave her long, flowing hair cascading freely or gather it into an elegant knot? Dressed in attire befitting a pre-wedding celebration, her reflection gazed back at her, awaiting the verdict.

Meanwhile, Travis, perched comfortably on the edge of the bed, leaned over to fasten his shoes, a picture of composure amidst the preparations. Joanna, with her thoughts lingering on the upcoming event, chose this moment to voice a question that had been swirling in her mind like an unceasing whirlwind.

“This gathering, or whatever we’d like to call it,” she began, her tone contemplative, “seems to be more of a casual get-together, don’t you think? I can’t help but wonder, considering the guest list will likely include all your college friends, will I truly feel welcomed in such a setting?”
