Chapter 7

"What is this?" asked Jason in surprise while accepting the paper in Ainsley's hand.

"You can read, right?" asked Ainsley sarcastically.

Jason took a deep breath, then began to read the message on the single sheet of paper.

How shocked Jason was when he read the letter. It turns out it was a letter from Grandpa Dagfinn saying that the Dalton Company and its other subsidiaries started at that time under the leadership of Jason Mairer. And all property ownership is in Jason's name, such as a luxurious house located on the side of the main road, including a rickety house adjoining the luxury house.

After reading the letter, Jason looked at Ainsley sharply.

"Is it serious?" Jason asked, not believing what he was reading.

"You have a brain to think, right? You think this is a joke?" Ainsley was annoyed as he stomped his pen on the glass table.

"But why?" muttered Jason in surprise.

Jason couldn't stop thinking about everything. It turned out that Dagfinn's grandfather was a rich man, and various questions filled Jason's mind, especially about the inheritance, even though Dagfinn had a son named Addison.

"You really are being ungrateful, Jason! You should be happy to get such a quick treasure!" shouted Ainsley angrily.

Jason fell silent at Ainsley's statement. Should he be happy, like Ainsley said? Even though he didn't know the reason that made Dagfinn's grandfather give all of his wealth to Jason. Even though Dagfinn's grandfather had a son named Addison.

"It can't be like that, Ainsley; I don't know why. Do I have to be like that?" Jason asked softly and ruffled his hair roughly.

Ainsley just smiled sarcastically at Jason.

"You are so arrogant. You should think about how you can make this company more advanced under your leadership," said Ainsley.

"I don't have any experience with the company, Ainsley; I only had experience as a scavenger, builder, and presenter for a few months. And even then, I was finally fired; now I'm just a porter. Isn't it funny that a porter suddenly becomes a leader in Daltons?" Jason asked Ainsley and looked closely at her.

Ainsley gasped at what Jason had to say. It turns out that Dagfinn wasn't lying about Jason; the man he adopted and inherited all his wealth from was just the son of a scavenger.

"But you finished college, right?" asked Ainsley then.

Ainsley looked closely at Jason's face. You could see the hidden intelligence in Jason's face. And Ainsley believes that Jason can be counted on.

"I'll help you," Ainsley then said after he was sure that Jason could be trusted as the leader of Dalton.

Jason looked at Ainsley's face inquisitively. How can a woman he just met be willing to help him? Even though Ainsley had always looked at him cynically and lowly.

"Why do you not believe?" asked Ainsley, irritably glancing sharply at Jason.

Jason then shook his head, although in his heart he was a little unsure of what Ainsley had said. Because honestly, Jason was afraid that Ainsley had other intentions.

However, Jason said in his heart that he was afraid that the Dalton company would fall into the hands of irresponsible people.

Jason felt sorry for Dagfinn's grandfather because it seemed like the old man he helped a while ago was a very lonely man. As he had told Jason some time ago.

"I believe it. Did grandpa Dagfinn mean all his wealth is only Dalton?" Jason asked probingly.

Ainsley laughed, averting his eyes from the laptop screen in front of him.

"Formerly Dalton was the name of a business owned by Mr. Dagfinn, only engaged in the Tours and Travel business unit. But it has grown over time. And eventually it has widened into the name of a group. There are several types of business units in this building owned by Dalton. There is a restaurant section, a hotel, and a property. And this seventh floor is the floor of Dalton's central office," Ainsley said later.

Jason then nodded; he was determined that he would accept the mandate that would be given to him.

Jason was sure that this was all God's destiny, and Dagfinn's grandfather would not be wrong to appoint him as the leader of all the types of businesses he owned.

"Fine, I'll take all of them," Jason replied.

Ainsley finally laughed at what Jason said. And know someone like Jason really needs another job.

"I thought you really didn't accept all of Dagfinn's gifts. It turns out that you finally did. You arrogant bastard!" said Ainsley, which sounded like an insult to him.

"I know Dagfinn's grandfather; he is a good person. At that time, I thought he was poor; I didn't even think that he owned a company, and I was so shocked when I found out he had died. I haven't had time to thank him," Jason said, looking dreamy.

Jason went back to reading the message left by Dagfinn; it even seemed like the letter had really been prepared by Dagfinn well before he died because the letter had been signed by a notary, but unfortunately, Dagfinn didn't leave a special message for Jason, for example, a letter containing the reason Dagfinn gave it all to him. He didn't know why Dagfinn had stayed with him for those few days in that cramped house, and Dagfinn never said anything.

Jason leaned his head back against the back of the chair and then sighed heavily.

"Why did he die?" Jason asked Ainsley.

"As a result of being abused by his son, Addison," Since then, his health has begun to suffer; even the doctor you called at the house suggested that he be taken and treated in intensive care at the hospital, right? But he refuses; he prefers to be taken care of by you with his bare hands. From there, he has fallen in love with you and begins to take care of all the paperwork in your name, but unfortunately, he has not had time to give it all to you. "Back to face his Lord," answered Ainsley, as if holding back his tears.

Jason didn't know what kind of relationship Dagfinn and Ainsley's grandfather had, so it seemed that Ainsley really felt sad when he told him about Dagfinn, his boss.

And Jason felt that the relationship between Dagfinn and Ainsley was not just between the boss and his secretary, but whether it was more precise and what kind of relationship Jason also didn't understand.

Ainsley seemed to take a letter from his desk drawer and hand it back to Jason.

"This is the second letter, if you have read and accepted the first," said Ainsley, who then handed it to Jason.

"It means?" Jason asked, confused.

"Pak Dagfinn's message: this second letter is given to you on the condition that you have read the first letter and you accept his request in the first letter!" answered Ainsley with her arms crossed.
