Demonic Beast Attack

Calvin then stood up with a big smile towards Rex and Livy, the statement he said was of course not empty talk to him. But it was too soon for Rex and Livy to just trust Calvin. In their hearts, Rex and Livy felt a little happy because someone would say impossible things like that.

"What is this feeling?" Rex asked, turning to Livy.

“It seems that we still have hope to fully recover. "All the sacrifices of the General and our colleagues must not be in vain."

They both stood with enthusiastic eyes, as if Calvin's enthusiasm had infected them. Seeing that the two of them now had a goal, Calvin immediately jumped up and walked towards the eastern forest portal. He steadily stared at the portal with confidence, Rex and Livy standing behind him.

“Oh shit! "I forgot that I can't go in alone," said Calvin with a stupid smile.

Rex and Livy immediately took a deep breath. “It seems we were wrong.”

With Livy's help, Calvin begins to enter through the eastern forest portal. Rex took out his sword as a precaution, because they didn't know what was waiting for him behind the portal. In an instant they had changed places. A forest that was much denser than before, the trees were much taller and there were no roads at all. They only saw scarred undergrowth, perhaps it was the path that the Silver Deer guild had walked through.

Calvin was quite surprised when he saw what was around him, of course this was the first time he had seen such a terrifying forest. It wasn't surprising that someone didn't come back after entering the eastern forest.

The three of them started walking in a different direction to the path the Silver Deer guild had taken. Rex walked at the front to lead the way, Calvin was in the middle and Livy stood behind.

Suddenly Rex stopped in his tracks and looked back to see the portal. He approached one of the large trees nearby. He placed his palm on the tree and recited a magic spell. Suddenly a little smoke emitted from his palm and left a mark on the tree.

"What's that?" Calvin asked while paying attention to the sign on the big tree.

“This is the seal that we will later use to return. "It will be difficult for us to find the portal in the middle of this forest, that's why we have to make a seal so that we don't get lost when looking for the portal," explained Rex.

“Like GPS, huh?”

“What is GPS?” Rex asked with a surprised expression.

“Satellite navigation and positioning system. In my life, things like that are very common so that we don't get lost."

“I don't really understand, but it might be the same.”

They continued their journey deeper into the eastern forest. They prefer to walk as usual to save energy, breaking through the dense bushes. The forest was not very quiet, there were many echoing sounds that were not clear where they came from. This makes the atmosphere of the forest quite tense even during the day. Calvin still looked relaxed while enjoying the trip, his eyes constantly looking here and there in awe. What he saw was the same as the movies and anime he had watched before.

Their journey went smoothly with no signs of approaching enemies. They started to enter a much denser area, the trees were big and tall so the sunlight didn't fully enter.

From a distance, the sound of an animal roaring was heard quite clearly, this of course made Calvin curious and he stopped in his tracks.

"What sound is that?" said Calvin as he turned his head in the direction the voice came from.

“It was the voice of a demon beast. The eastern forest is a nest for demonic beasts, they all live and breed within this forest. But that doesn't mean they don't leave this forest, there are many cases of demonic beasts attacking villages. "One of the guild's duties is to maintain security from attacks by demonic animals," said Livy explaining Calvin's question.

“What are demon beasts like? Is it the same as the animals in my world?” Calvin asked, imagining the common animals he knew.

“I don't know what the animals in your world are like, but one thing that is different is that demon beasts can use magic.”

“Wow!! Even animals can use magic, don't tell me that these demonic beasts can talk like us?”

"Stupid! Of course not."

In the middle of their conversation, suddenly Rex started to draw his sword and get ready. This surprised Calvin and Livy and got ready too. From the thicket appeared the demonic beast they were talking about.

"It seems they don't like being talked about," said Rex when the demon beast appeared.

"Wait! The appearance of this demonic beast is not what I imagined, it turns out to be much cooler!” shouted Calvin when he first saw the demonic beast that appeared in front of him.

The demon beast is a deer but in a giant version. Its body size is almost three times the size of a deer in Calvin's world. Apart from that, the animal's eyes looked very sharp, and on the ankles of its four legs there were red flames burning. That is one of the characteristics of demon beasts, all demon beasts have flames coiled around their bodies.

Calvin smiled broadly when he saw the demon beast, he looked amazed and continued to look at the demon beast that was in front of his eyes. But not Rex and Livy, they were ready to attack.

"Can we keep them?" said Calvin.

“Don't act stupid, they are not animals that can be tamed.”

“Guuaaarrgghhh!!”

The demon beast began to roar loudly while raising both legs up. Seeing this, it was certain that the demon beasts would attack. Rex immediately jumped while pulling Calvin's body away. Calvin just smiled broadly while watching the demonic beast that looked angry.

The demon beast stomped its feet on the ground, causing the surrounding area to shake. Livy and Rex immediately prepared with their respective swords, within seconds the attack from the demonic beast came. The second roar came after both legs were stomped, the roar did not just make a sound but was accompanied by wind magic from the demon beast.

The slashes from the demonic beasts struck towards the three of them, but their reflexes were good enough that they quickly jumped back to dodge. But Calvin's reflexes weren't the same, he seemed a little confused about avoiding the attack from the demon beast. Calvin reflexively defended himself by crossing his arms. The attack from the demon beast hit Calvin's body and exploded quite strongly.
