For a moment or two, the room was silent.
The only persistent sounds being Lekan's slow breathing and the confused panicked breaths for Blessing. It continued for s long as long as could be and if what happened had not happened, it would have been the most magical.
However, a strange occurrence had happened, none of them could therefore sense the magic in the air It was alien to them, their minds pounding with all sorts of fear and thoughts.
Lekan could just barely stabilize himself now. What he had seen, he could make no sense out of it. What was it? It was startling or maybe it was because of the fact that he had been mourning his parents. Perhaps, that had to be it for he could not understand what that visage was.
Blessing would never slap him so then why was that?
He did not want to think that there was really anything that was beyond the physical in the room. He did not even want to think that way because he was not sure.
But still, he could not just override the thought that he had felt the solidity of that visage. It felt so eerie and chilly. And the fear he had felt, he swallowed dryly, the memory haunting him. And to make matters worse, the ghost, it spoke to him. It freaking spoke to him.
His heart pounded continuously, hammering violently against his rib cage. His lungs exerted themselves trying to keep with his rampaging heart. Succeeding in amping his breathing quickly in passing seconds. His mouth hung open now, to keep up with the increasing demand for the oxygen by his lungs as his face began to pale up once again.
Just then, two gentle taps reached his face alongside with a gentle shake of his face. And that did it. The fear build up inside of him broke up immediately. Blessing's face was relieving. It made him forget his worries in a heart beat.
"Stop it. You're scaring me, Lekan!" Blessing said to him.
Lekan blinked his eyes as he looked at her now. He closed his lips and then hugged her tight. As he did that, Blessing's eyes widened now. She gasped but did not attempt to pull out of the hug he held her in.
In her mind, she was ecstatic.
Still, she could not help but wonder what was going on with Lekan. The way he acted previously had spooked her up to the max. She could not help but feel a tinge of fear that he was losing his mind. If that happened, would that mean that she would miss her only dearest friend to the pangs of insanity?
And then again, if that did come true and after a medical examination, Lekan was then admitted to a hospital. In reality, she knew she would not have access to seeing him then. Her family were not rich, rich enough to place them on an equal footing with Lekan family and by the reason of Lekan's status quo, only the best hospital would be procured for him.
The best hospital would mean that an ordinary person like her would not have access to such a place. If she could not get to see him then, knowing how he was, then …
No, no no… She would not get to see him and this was the first time she was getting to see him. Which was even because of the fact that his boarding school had closed for the term, unlike hers.
No, she could not think like that. Why was she imagining that her Lekan was missing a nut and a bolt. Even if he was, then she should never think like that of him.
No, she chided herself mentally, she could not think that way. She had to be positive. This was her friend and even though things may have been tough for him, it did not give her the right to panic and think things like this.
Her Lekan would definitively be alright and there was no other way about it. But then, his Uncle when she saw him had told her that Lekan had been shutting himself up for a while now. that not mean that he was nearing his limits? And now, he was staring deep into space and reaching for her, while his eyes were not really there.
It was scary, she had to admit. It was all so scary and she wished she could help to make things lighter for him. Or perhaps, if she could offer to get him out of this place, maybe for a while, then things may just return to normal for Lekan.
"Please… Lekan… Be fine!" She cried now, hugging him tight even as her jaw dug into the right hand shoulder of Lekan.
"I am sorry, bles. I don't know what happened. But I think… I think I saw an image…. Something scary like…" Lekan tried to speak about what he had seen but then he could not find the words to state exactly what had happened.
"The image of your parents incident, right? I know…" Blessing said, hugging him tighter now. "I know it must be hard for you. I really do know and I am sorry you had to witness all of that." She said.
Lekan grimaced now. The bear hug that Blessing was giving him was beginning to get really uncomfortable. "Easy, princess…"
He muttered, shaking his head. Now that he tried to tell her about what had happened, she just assumed he was having flashbacks. Perhaps, it was not really up to him to do that now. Perhaps, it was just for his own sight alone and his own thoughts alone. He did not have to tell her what he had seen. If there was anything about that, he knew he had to try his best to find out what it was all about.
He did not believe in coincidences, after all.
"You know, what, slow down on the hug!" Lekan said and then began to push out against Blessing.
She did not want that however, and tried to push back against her. But just as she began to resist, Lekan began to tickle her with both hands.
She giggled and then voluntarily left him, scrambling away from his touch. He did not let her just go lie that. With a smile, he scrambled after her, crawling as he laughed.
"Hehehe… Stop, stop…" Blessing resisted, kicking him away with her legs. As she did that, the hem of her skirt began to shift upwards but it was no matter to them. The two of them were really close friends.
"What….. You think you can just come and hug me to death…" Lekan winked… "Hell, no, I will tickle you to the beyond. Muhhahahahah!"
Blessing laughed and then pushed and kicked. Lekan followed, using his hands to wedge off her legs as he tried to gain in on her. The issues of the time before totally forgotten. At least, for the now.
Her skirt??? Wahhhhh??? Lekan is having a hella of a show here. And hes not even paying for it. Lol.
"What….. You think you can just come and hug me to death…" Lekan winked. "Hell, no, I will tickle you to the beyond. Muhhahahahah!" Blessing laughed. A cheery one. Then pushed and kicked. Lekan followed, using his hands to wedge off her legs in an attempt to gain on her. A wild smile on his face as he worked with his hands. The issues of the time before totally forgotten. At least, for now. "Okay, okay... stop, stoppppp..." Blessing laughed, shaking her arms and her legs in a fit of laughter. Lekan did ease up now as he saw how she vibrated. He leaned backwards and she jerked then, shaking her head as she kept on laughing. "No... no... hahahah... " Blessing laughed. "Stoppppp." "I didn't do anything now, did I?" Lekan replied with an ear to ear grin on his face. "I was only leaving you alone." He laughed at her. "who knew you're such a scaredy cat?" "Heheh... it's not that!" Blessing disagreed. She hugged her legs with a coy smile on her face. "Its just... I don't trust you,
The gate to house opened just then as a man wearing ashgray trousers, black sneakers and a white vest stepped in. The gate was black and towering, having a fence topped by electric wiring with a notification that read 'stay away; high voltage' His hair was short, black in color and seemed to be a bit dishevelled at the moment. Opening the pedestrian door a bit longer now, a lady wearing some skimpy gown of yellow stepped in, wearing an amused smile on her face. She had cornrows on her head, the color being black and yellow. She had her complexion to be tanned and a mole just below her left eye. The gown which she had on was spaghetti in style, two crossing strands of material which looped at back of her neck and then a set of those material threads looping at the back two. The length of the gown was just by her hips side and on her feet, she had high robed gladiator sandals of brown color, holding a purse of yellow close to her body with the left hand. She put a hand forward, that
"what's happening?" Dorothy said, looking back at him. "I'm coming... Just need to check on something " He said and then raced his way forward to where the sounds of sobbing were coming from. First things first, Desmond sighed to himself, he had to make sure that everything was alright. He was been worried about the one who he had to take into guidance now. While it was understandable that the boy had lost his parents and thus would be have fits such as this, he was really worried that he may have let that get to the person who had come in to visit. When he was leaving the house, earlier, he had been frustrated. It was not too long since he had to leave his own house and his own life to come here, in the status of a guardian to the son of his late brother. It was not long enough and so, it was normal that people would be watching him. After all, he had been the brother who had not been seen around the family since the time that his brother had decided to cut ties with him. Based o
Lekan whistled as he moved from the ironing table to the wardrobe now. It was just some hours since Blessing had left. Actually, it was another another day, although with the difference of not more than 12 hours in between. Compared to other times, his mood was improved now. He moved to the wardrobe and whistled, putting a finger to his lips as he paused, trying to remember what he had wanted to get in the first place. Shirtless with only a pair of trousers, black on his lower half, Lekan nodded his head harmoniously to the rhythm of the music booming out from the mini music player speaker which was on the table. As if lit by inspiration, he opened the two doors of the wardrobe and then pulled out a shirt from the one with the hanger compartment. He held the shirt and then looked at the vintage styled design of it for a few moments. And after he was done with the observation, his head still nodding to the boom of music, he tossed it to the Queen Sized bed which was behind him. After
“Ha!” The girl in the black jumpsuit roared as her feet bounced off the ground. Landing a few steps to the right, she smiled, her white skin reflecting the light and warmth. It revealed the radiance in the heart of this young girl. She held her two hands in front of her. Her blonde hair wafting softly from side to side even as the wind teased it. Her feet were placed, the right in front while the left was placed behind it. Just a little bit. “How long do you think you can really hold out against me? I am the Queen of the Combat Facility.” She smirked. The person whom she was speaking to frowned, his bushy eyebrows knitting closely at his forehead. He breathed hard, fisting his hands as he stared daggers at her, unmoving while his eyes loooked left and right. The place where the two combatants stood was one of a kind. It was a circular platform which had just three pillars at adjacent ends. The ground was lined with circular carvings. And right at the center of it was the insig
The taxi screeched to a halt in front of the campus of the school and Lekan heaved. It was a relief that he could actually get fresh air to breathe, fresh air which was not the same air that his Uncle Desmond would be breathing. He felt a strange rush of emotions well up in his body just then, as the Uber driver looked back to him and then informed him about their ride destination being reached. For a moment or two, he did not answer, neither did he move. He just stared up ahead, looking at the Uber driver who wore a blue baseball cap, white vest and black jeans. There was an aroma of scented mints in the car and the air conditioning was doing a good job in delivering the extra chill in the air to it/. Lekan took in an inhalation of air, allowing the mint scented air to settle against his lungs. It was refreshing in a way, he wanted to stay but then again, he could not stay. He had come down here because he had something which he wanted to do. And also because of the fact that being
Too much of everything is bad! Even attention. As Leslie jumped down from the fighting ring, her expression squeezed up immediately. She did not like the face of Professor BumJu, nor did anyone like the fact that he was around. He had the taste of bad moods and bad everything else. And she was naturally good. Too good he did not seem to leave her alone. Shaking her head, showing her face, she looked up to the giant features of Prof Bumju. Just like her, he was a full white man, his curly brown hair pressed down on his head as he pocketed. “You know, you don't have to give me that hated look.” He scoffed, looking to the ground. “Of course. If only everyone liked you, then I would do that.” Leslie smiled at him, only to turn to the other side with a frown. “Hm!’ Prof BumJu stopped now. He looked at her, letting a small smile break through his face. “I like you. You are feisty.” “And I don't like it. Why can't you just leave me alone?” She said to him, pouting at his face.
Seeing this, the man did not waste time now. He simply huffed and then brought his foot down on the head of Lekan, smashing his jaw into the hard concrete ground. Blood splattered about just then as teeth from the inner dentition rolled out to the ground. Lekan saw stars. Or the equivalent of them. With shut eyes, light twinkling against the blank that pulled up in his mind's eye. The pain rammed against his body, setting him ablaze with several emotions running rampant. His life flashed before his eyes now. Gritting, the pain mercilessly tore through his body like a beast on a prowl. His life flashed before his eyes in the fleeting moment, the fear of death stinging viciously in his mind. Lekan pondered on just how it was going to play out. Like it was general knowledge, those who got to be labeled as thieves did not often get to live for long. At least, not when the mob was allowed to do what they wanted to do. The rare cases where the mob did not get the upper hand was whe
