"What….. You think you can just come and hug me to death…" Lekan winked. "Hell, no, I will tickle you to the beyond. Muhhahahahah!"
Blessing laughed. A cheery one.
Then pushed and kicked. Lekan followed, using his hands to wedge off her legs in an attempt to gain on her. A wild smile on his face as he worked with his hands. The issues of the time before totally forgotten.
At least, for now.
"Okay, okay... stop, stoppppp..." Blessing laughed, shaking her arms and her legs in a fit of laughter.
Lekan did ease up now as he saw how she vibrated. He leaned backwards and she jerked then, shaking her head as she kept on laughing.
"No... no... hahahah... " Blessing laughed. "Stoppppp."
"I didn't do anything now, did I?" Lekan replied with an ear to ear grin on his face. "I was only leaving you alone." He laughed at her. "who knew you're such a scaredy cat?"
"Heheh... it's not that!" Blessing disagreed. She hugged her legs with a coy smile on her face. "Its just... I don't trust you, you know." She winked.
"Yea, yeah... If you didn't trust me, I don't think you would be here with me, would you?" Lekan asked, raising two fingers of his right hand into the air. A peace sign. "So, yep, you totally trust me." He grinned and then got himself from the ground to sit on the bed.
The moment he got off the ground, his eyes narrowed. The thoughts of before thoughts overflowing his mind, whilst bringing a swift change of mood.
He could not shake it off. What happened before irked him so much. The weird things happening in his room. Yet, strangely, he felt like he had experienced these some time ago. He just could not place it. A constant happening of de ja vus!
What was that silhouette which spoke to him? If it had not, then, he may have just taken it that he had be dizzy and was only making up things in his head.
However, the silhouette did not only speak to him, it also slapped his hand away from it. It was something he had to consider too. And even if he wanted to blame that on Blessing, he did not see any reason why Blessing would hit in the first place.
If not for the fact he schooled far away, himself and Blessing had come close to being tight friends. Lovers, if he had not deliberately turned a blind eye to all the green lights she gave him. And as a result, he trusted her.
The trust was mutual also. Blessing trusted him that so much that he did not see any reason why she would even dare to hit him.
If it was not Blessing, Lekan thought as he clasped his hands under his chin, resting the elbows on his knees, then who was that silhouette?
He could not make out much of the face except for the fact that the red lines had zoned onto it. Or in other words, the red lines were what brought about the face in the first place.
He could not help but wonder why that had happened, purposing his heart to find the root reason of it. There had to be some explanation, surely to that. Things did not just happen. He was not a believer in coincidence.
"Heyyyyyyy!"
"Ehhhh..." Lekan blinked, startled as he looked on to the hand shaking his knee.
It was Blessing. Her lips were pushed out in a pout, her small eyebrows wrinkled in a frown. From the looks of things, she was obviously displeased.
"What is wrong with you? One moment you are happy, the other moment you are pensive. Are you a woman on period?" Blessing mumbled at him.
"Ahh... No. no. Of course not. Do I look womanly?" Lekan replied.
"I don't know." Blessing said and then looked away. "I don't know what happened to you with these mood swings. It's like you have become a totally different person and..."
"And what?" Lekan heaved towards her.
"I get that things have been sorta rough since... since they..." Blessing said, pausing through as she got herself to stand up.
She moved to the table now, resting her bum against it while her two hands settled on it, by the sides. After that, she fixed her eyes on Lekan who had been looking down all through the time she got up.
"Since they... you know..." She said with a low voice. Blessing splayed her fingers now and then shrugged. "I was just thinking that... you... I..."
"What are you trying to say Blessing?" Lekan looked up to her now. "If you have to say something, just get at it. We have been friends for so long so I don't think there's anything you could say right now to get me mad, okay?" Lekan said, assuring.
"So, just get at it. Whatever you have to say, just hit the nail on the head." He urged.
Hearing that, the nervousness in Blessing's face cleared out as she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Well, I just wanted you to get out to the sunlight, you know." She said, throwing her hands into the air. "Your Uncle Says you have been all shut here. I want you to step out. That mum and Dad are gone doesn't mean you should keep burdening yourself like this. You need to live." She said, coming closer to lay a hand on his left shoulder
Lekan looked thoughtfully at her hand for some brief moments before sighing too.
"Go out where?" He asked. "My school... I have been a boarding student and my Dad wanted to hide me away for as long as I can remember, Soo... it's... like I don't know anywhere around."
"Besides..." He scoffed. "What do I know? I am just the son who..."
"I don't care, Lekan." Blessing interrupted, pushing her chest out. "You can't be doing this to yourself. Think about the people about you. How do you think your withdrawal would affect them?"
"I don't see a problem with that." Lekan scoffed once more. "Certainly not with Uncle Desmond. That fella hates my guts. As I do to him too." He said with a low voice towards the end.
"Even if..." Blessing said.
"There are NO IFS here " Lekan fired out, slamming a folded fist into his right knee. "No buts, okay? This is my way of coping with this whole thing, living in the same house with the very person who I am very sure wishes I died too so he could inherit everything." He inhaled now, throat muscles constricting as he glared to Blessing. "And what do I get? Nothing! Under the care of some opportunistic bastard. And a stupid ring with a note of master the power? Like what gives?? Who the fuck does that in these times?" Lekan shook his right hand to the side vehemently.
"Does he think all I do is seat in front of TV watching power rangers and wishing that I had the power to transform or something?" He screamed out, slamming his fist simultaneously with each sentence he blasted out. "Who even gave him the rights to die? If he was not so obsessed over modelling my life to be like his, then I bet he would still be alive up till now. But now, he had to beat my mum because she cautioned him for the way he talking. And then... then... they fought... They fucking fought... Bles, they did and that was the end!" His voice broke towards the end.
Blessing shivered at his outburst, her eyes watery and her hands clasped over her mouth.
"Oh... Lekan..." She whispered.
There was so much that the poor boy was holding inside of him. So much yet he had been talking to her, tickling and laughing to her. Acting like it had been nothing whereas his heart was hurting.
For a second or two, she seemed frozen for words but after the time elapsed, she steeled her mind. She had to do something or say something at the very least.
He was her friend but still, she found it tough to come up. To come up with something which could be deemed comforting enough.
Comforting enough for someone who had learnt to lock up his emotions within his chest and act like he was fine.
Like he was fine whereas he was not fine.
Shivering... She leaned forward and reached for his shoulder.
"Hey, it's fine.... everything will be alright, you know. I t-think you should come to my school tomorrow. Let's just hang out and take your mind off the pressure, okay?" Blessing managed to say.
Her school had a slightly longer calendar than Lekan's school. While Lekan was done for the session, Blessing was still having exams papers in her own school.
Tomorrow, she would still have some papers and then after then, she would be free to play with him. After all, it was her last paper for the session.
"Uhm..." Lekan swallowed, nodding his head. "I... I'll think about it." He replied sullenly.
At loss of what to say now, Blessing just exhaled, tapping him in his two shoulders, after which she leaned in to give him a hug.
"I'll be expecting you, okay? Thank you!" She said. "I'm leaving now. Got to go and study." She chuckled nervously and without waiting for a reply, moved for the door. Once she was outside, she shut it.
Biting her lower lip, Blessing leaned against the wall. She fisted her small hands, then fell to her bum, tears falling silently.
I guess, sometimes we should all try to talk to someone when we can. Yes, we can act like we are fine dep down. But, well, sigh, maybe talking does help us relieve the emotional stress.
The gate to house opened just then as a man wearing ashgray trousers, black sneakers and a white vest stepped in. The gate was black and towering, having a fence topped by electric wiring with a notification that read 'stay away; high voltage' His hair was short, black in color and seemed to be a bit dishevelled at the moment. Opening the pedestrian door a bit longer now, a lady wearing some skimpy gown of yellow stepped in, wearing an amused smile on her face. She had cornrows on her head, the color being black and yellow. She had her complexion to be tanned and a mole just below her left eye. The gown which she had on was spaghetti in style, two crossing strands of material which looped at back of her neck and then a set of those material threads looping at the back two. The length of the gown was just by her hips side and on her feet, she had high robed gladiator sandals of brown color, holding a purse of yellow close to her body with the left hand. She put a hand forward, that
"what's happening?" Dorothy said, looking back at him. "I'm coming... Just need to check on something " He said and then raced his way forward to where the sounds of sobbing were coming from. First things first, Desmond sighed to himself, he had to make sure that everything was alright. He was been worried about the one who he had to take into guidance now. While it was understandable that the boy had lost his parents and thus would be have fits such as this, he was really worried that he may have let that get to the person who had come in to visit. When he was leaving the house, earlier, he had been frustrated. It was not too long since he had to leave his own house and his own life to come here, in the status of a guardian to the son of his late brother. It was not long enough and so, it was normal that people would be watching him. After all, he had been the brother who had not been seen around the family since the time that his brother had decided to cut ties with him. Based o
Lekan whistled as he moved from the ironing table to the wardrobe now. It was just some hours since Blessing had left. Actually, it was another another day, although with the difference of not more than 12 hours in between. Compared to other times, his mood was improved now. He moved to the wardrobe and whistled, putting a finger to his lips as he paused, trying to remember what he had wanted to get in the first place. Shirtless with only a pair of trousers, black on his lower half, Lekan nodded his head harmoniously to the rhythm of the music booming out from the mini music player speaker which was on the table. As if lit by inspiration, he opened the two doors of the wardrobe and then pulled out a shirt from the one with the hanger compartment. He held the shirt and then looked at the vintage styled design of it for a few moments. And after he was done with the observation, his head still nodding to the boom of music, he tossed it to the Queen Sized bed which was behind him. After
“Ha!” The girl in the black jumpsuit roared as her feet bounced off the ground. Landing a few steps to the right, she smiled, her white skin reflecting the light and warmth. It revealed the radiance in the heart of this young girl. She held her two hands in front of her. Her blonde hair wafting softly from side to side even as the wind teased it. Her feet were placed, the right in front while the left was placed behind it. Just a little bit. “How long do you think you can really hold out against me? I am the Queen of the Combat Facility.” She smirked. The person whom she was speaking to frowned, his bushy eyebrows knitting closely at his forehead. He breathed hard, fisting his hands as he stared daggers at her, unmoving while his eyes loooked left and right. The place where the two combatants stood was one of a kind. It was a circular platform which had just three pillars at adjacent ends. The ground was lined with circular carvings. And right at the center of it was the insig
The taxi screeched to a halt in front of the campus of the school and Lekan heaved. It was a relief that he could actually get fresh air to breathe, fresh air which was not the same air that his Uncle Desmond would be breathing. He felt a strange rush of emotions well up in his body just then, as the Uber driver looked back to him and then informed him about their ride destination being reached. For a moment or two, he did not answer, neither did he move. He just stared up ahead, looking at the Uber driver who wore a blue baseball cap, white vest and black jeans. There was an aroma of scented mints in the car and the air conditioning was doing a good job in delivering the extra chill in the air to it/. Lekan took in an inhalation of air, allowing the mint scented air to settle against his lungs. It was refreshing in a way, he wanted to stay but then again, he could not stay. He had come down here because he had something which he wanted to do. And also because of the fact that being
Too much of everything is bad! Even attention. As Leslie jumped down from the fighting ring, her expression squeezed up immediately. She did not like the face of Professor BumJu, nor did anyone like the fact that he was around. He had the taste of bad moods and bad everything else. And she was naturally good. Too good he did not seem to leave her alone. Shaking her head, showing her face, she looked up to the giant features of Prof Bumju. Just like her, he was a full white man, his curly brown hair pressed down on his head as he pocketed. “You know, you don't have to give me that hated look.” He scoffed, looking to the ground. “Of course. If only everyone liked you, then I would do that.” Leslie smiled at him, only to turn to the other side with a frown. “Hm!’ Prof BumJu stopped now. He looked at her, letting a small smile break through his face. “I like you. You are feisty.” “And I don't like it. Why can't you just leave me alone?” She said to him, pouting at his face.
Seeing this, the man did not waste time now. He simply huffed and then brought his foot down on the head of Lekan, smashing his jaw into the hard concrete ground. Blood splattered about just then as teeth from the inner dentition rolled out to the ground. Lekan saw stars. Or the equivalent of them. With shut eyes, light twinkling against the blank that pulled up in his mind's eye. The pain rammed against his body, setting him ablaze with several emotions running rampant. His life flashed before his eyes now. Gritting, the pain mercilessly tore through his body like a beast on a prowl. His life flashed before his eyes in the fleeting moment, the fear of death stinging viciously in his mind. Lekan pondered on just how it was going to play out. Like it was general knowledge, those who got to be labeled as thieves did not often get to live for long. At least, not when the mob was allowed to do what they wanted to do. The rare cases where the mob did not get the upper hand was whe
It is good to be rich. Oh, very good. The sound in the SUV was of a different note. The speakers in it were of high quality. It left desmon in awe of the fact that he hadn't really been living the life back then. Yes, he had a car, an old fashioned model . But compared to the black SUV he was riding in, there was a whole different experience. And he loved it. In hindsight, this was only possible because of the death of his brother. And while that had hurt him initially, the fact that he was named the Guardian of the son had left his heart in gladness. It meant that the could also have a taste of the good things that his brother enjoy.d The only thing in his way of enjoying that in totality was the brat of a son which he had. The son would not be a problem. AT least, not after today. Desmond heaved out, whistling the song which w*s being played. WIth his hands on the steering, he rocked his sunshades even though he w* snot out in the sun. It Was going to be a good day today a
His vision was not like this. The future had changed. Lekan realized that now as he stood with the Mana blockers in tow. He locked eyes with Blesing who continued with her spell, unbothered by the fact that he was hee. And the strange creature of a woman that he had grown to be familiar with, in the red flowing gowns seemed to be urging her on. Whatever Blessing was doing, the woman in the red flowing gown seemed to need it quite urgently. He could not shake off the bad feeling about it. And the sensation that's why was his opponent. The feeling that he had had to fight her in a distant future. A future which a snow repeating itself for him, His vision waived now. The things he saw changed in a blink. In this time, he saw himself on the ground and a council which held over his head. They deliberated one thing about him and how to ensure that the timeline changed. {See the prologue} It felt very familiar to him. And this time, Lekan could not deny that this happened. Understand
Lekan got out of the building. Frost things first, he would get to make sure that blessing was alright, then he would make sure that the Bureau was set right. He did not want to run. Not away from it. He had been running for far too long and look what that led him to? What if as I ran away, more things started to happen to innocent people? People like Keder, the Bureau stealing her life and youth from her. The anger started to boil in him that he did not know when he started to run towards Blessing. The latter continued her spell as more and more mana started getting sucked into it. ‘ Just then, two people landed down from a building. One Of them having purple tattoos on her back faded off into nothingness. While the other one pumped his legs towards Lekan. Itw as Frank and Lekan. In no time, Frank caught up with Lekan and with strong hands, he hoisted him from behind. “What?” Lekan gasped out. His arms locked up from behind his back.. By the time he turned backwards, he
Just like it started, in the suddenness of the day, it ended. Relief swept across the ranks of the system bureau in one accord. They could all sit back and take in gasps of air. They had one priority while trying to ascertain what they were up against. They Had one thing which they had to do. And thaw was what they carried out all diligently. The safety of those who weep with them. THose who did not know what it meant to be system holders as they could not effectively fight back. Those who needed to be helped just because they did not have a system to start with. This was the priority of the higher ups in the actions. Only fighting back when they had no chance. All hope had been cast on monsieur Dayo and the actions he had been doing at the Research Facility. The research which had kept him busy back then, the same thing which had made him invulnerable to any threat which came from the council towards his being. It was in this moment that he would prove his mettle and hsi wor
She saw him. This was not like the threat that they had just faced down but it was still a threat for them. She glinted in anger as she started to run now. Ignoring the call of the other girls as they realized that the other demon had vanished as well. Thai was not their fight, at least, until they received further instructions from Monsieur Dayo on what to do next. His body scaled through the broken down side of the walling of the class snow. With her body still in drive now, she drove her hands to the stomach part of the demon. With quick succession ,she dealt multiple mana blocking blows there and then. The diamond screeched and the result was concluded immediately. It fell down with a thump as it revealed her to the people in the classroom now. And to the one she was looking to see. ‘Lekan!” Blessing called out with excitement in her face. “Blessing?” Lekan turned around with surprise in his eyes. He was hardly taken aback with many things. He knew that something would
Earlier on…. When he got the summon from Monsieur Demas, Dayo knew it was pretty serious. It wasn't something to be taken lightly. Especially when they had just crossed a milestone now. The unveiling of the Bureau would just be out there. This would be a major setback, if they did not handle it well. And so, he let go of the grudge he had with Monsieur Demas. After all, beyond their conflict and personal interest, they still had a duty to the System Bureau. They had to fly its flag and answer the summons against anything which was out there to bring it devastation and destruction. And this summon was just one of them. He braced for combat., literally. Donning his costume as what they knew of him as The Switch. He had to be ready for just anything and that included what he wore. This time, things would be different, Msnier Dayo said to himself even as they poured into the System Bureau. They would not have to depend on him alone in the combat of whatever they had to face. This
His words brought courage to all of them. Even Lekan himself could not help but feel fired over the words that he spoke. Perhaps, now, the perspective n of Donald by the people of his special class would change now. Change for the better, no doubt. The demon lady is frustrated. She shook her head, stomping her legs as her four arms slapped down on her waist now. “ Oh No! I hate this. Don't you play tricks o0n me>” he growled out as the decoy which she held in her hands now faded into nothingness. It was not the prey she wanted. And it infuriated her. “wEe need space.” Donald mentioned now. “Helen, your turn.” he called out. Immediately Helens dropped down to the ground. She slapped her hands flat out on the floor and then with a chant, her eyes went dark. All blacked out. “Shadow domain.” Dark circles appeared on the ground. They grew instantly with the demon lady with in the center of it now. The circles expanded instantly, merging into one gigantic black shimmering cir
The moment he got to know about the invasion of demons in this place; the first thing he did was to find a way to reach Leslie. He pretty much was trying to find his way about things in this place. And the only one who had shown the willingness to show his way around was none other than Leslie. Frank heaved as he held his right arm. It has healed over the time since the last time he had to get physical with anybody. And thankfully, there had been no cause for him to get involved with any fight. That is, he assumed Lee Min must have learnt his humility and then stayed to himself afterwards. He smiled to himself over this thought now. In the time past, he never did see himself as someone who would have to avenge anybody but now, it was becoming sort of his motto. Not like he was complaining about it. After all, the responsibilities of a King were numerous. And he had to exact them with the proper justice that was needed for each situation he found himself in. “What do we do?” HE
Power in the hands of chaotic beings is just a lower sample of hell. The demons surged about, numerous in their numbers as they screeched and roared. The unlucky humans who got up in their paths were gobbled up, eaten and then regurgitated as pieces of bones and blood. Fear gripped the ranks of the Bureau. In all their times of weidling systems, they never did expect to run into something like this. It has always been about fighting humans. Humans who would go against the way of things of the Bureau. Those who would flaunt the order of things. Those who would would want to thwart the general agenda of the Bureau. Never about things of this proportion. Never about misshapen beings that looked like a hybrid of several creatures. Black with wings, baleful eyes of red with poor patchwork of muscles over long bones for the ones who walked. Those ones measured several meters high, even as much as 8ft tall. The ones who flew were the smaller ones. Having the likelihood to apes, flying
Helen sighed, patting the black crop top she had on. The action brought focus to her belly button, the size of a water drop, externally. . It was slightly larger than normal. A phenomenon which was referred to as ‘dodo’ by his country's people. Oftentimes it was used as a term for light hearted mockery. But sighting it on her, the confidence at which she exuded even with it being exposed, it triggered him sexually. He loved her personality. The way she carried herself even though she knew she was not the best. But still had some air of confidence, as well as a bit of empathy. The fact that instead of leaving outrightly with him, she stayed behind to let him clear his head was lovable. Unlike someone who knew. The person of Lady Beatrice. She cared very less whether you’re anted to be teleported or not. As long as she had you in mind to transport, that was what she carried out. Consent or not. “You.” A raspy voice sounded now. It had a tone that spoke of humor and at the same time m
