Do you think Lekan would win this race? I mean, he is quite versatile with his system already?
“We have to go!” Helen shouted at him. She was not the only one. “Get out of the way.” “Run , come on”“If you won't beat it then get out.” The voices started to rise as agitation began to take preeminence amongst them all. They were excited over the prospects of coming first in the race and getting the chance to get a gift from the number one man in the system Bureau. That was, the person of Monsieur Demas. The man who just welcomed them officially into the system Bureau. The one man who held the entire Bureau and its related matters in the center of his hands. It was enough for them to get bustled over it. After all, for someone of his caliber to issue something like this to them, then they knew it would have something to back it up. Though this facet is not known to some others. The very few who had not bothered to get information about the orientation from the others in the Bureau. People like Lekan. He saw it as something which was just announced by the megaphone.
“Who is your teacher?” Helen asked the moment Lekan got out he had a scowl on his face, something which she overlooked out of the excitement of this whole occasion. He did not reply which got her worried now until he held out the paper for her to read. Only then did her face lighten up now. “Oh. you are also a Special system too. And your homeroom tutor is Ms Dexter? Nice!” She chorused out. “Why is that?” Lekan asked her, an eyebrow arched up now. “Well, Ms Dexter is my homeroom too. That means, you and I would be seeing a lot of ourselves through the season.” She giggled, waving out the stretched out paper for him to read ors. “It says that classes will start today. Where do we go?” He asked her, dismissing the excitement on her face now. “Well, come with me. We have to head back to the academic building and then get settled in for class.” She muttered to him. Helen didn't waste a single second as she grabbed a hold of his hand. The excitement that took over her entire
Lekan found it a bit unnerving to have everyone in the room look at him. Well, not him alone. Helen too. . But he doubted she felt this way. If for anything, Helen seemed to find everything about the Bureau exciting. Which he could not relate. His father must have left the Bureau for a certain reason. And that same reason must have been why he had left a log in the system, for the system lady to instruct him never to go to the Bureau. There were so many missing parts of the puzzle in his life. And he was not the ;east excited about fixing them or finding out what they really meant. Not to talk about her visions of the future he had. Though that had slowed down for a while. It struck him now as he recalled the vision he had, once about Helen. This same Helen, he’d met her. In a distant future or past or maybe it was all but a dream. And the two of them had gotten affectionate with one another. Something which popped into his head while he was at the hospital. Prior to meeting May
“Now that is out of the way.” Ms Dexter rubbed her hands as she exhaled now. “WE have to get started with why you are here in the first place. Want to tell you a lot of things, and say that you would be the greatest and that is my dream and what not but the truth is, I find those things boring. SO i would get started on the actual lecture and then dismiss you to go do what you do at your age.” She said to them now. Lekan shifted uneasily at this. He found this suspicious. It was like she was not bothered about the whole class or something. He had questions to ask her, and her initial demeanor had given it off that she could be the best person to get started with. However the vibes she was putting off now were totally different. Or maybe it was him who was expecting so much for her. “So. eh, first things first.” She started to speak and then walked to Maria. “I told you to stop doing that.If you don't think you can't stop it, then you have to leave this class.” She said with
He found it strange that she would call for him.Though Donald was excited over this, The latter even tried to get to talk to him but the look he shot at him was enough to cut them off. Lekan sighed to himself now, He was not cut out for all of this. He had one thing on his mind, for now. That was to find the purpose for all of this . The reason why he was here. And the reason why his father did leave the Bureau in the first place. All of these tutuor and tutoring things did not concern him. Though he felt that he would learn a thing or two about his systems from all of this. Nonetheless he followed after her in silence now. All the while she continued to tap on her table, doing something which took her attention as she led them out of the cabin like a classroom. They headed back into the block of classrooms where he was with Helen initially then. It was then he noticed that the others were in their classroom and in each class, there was a tutor taking the class The hallway was d
“There is not nothing to be afraid of, Lekan. I want you to be here. And I welcome you!” The voice, a familiar voice, sounded to him. Lekan blinked now. As he looked on ahead, he saw a man. The same man who took them on the orientation grounds. When they had just come to the academic building. He was playing with his beards and had a carefree expression on. Lekan recognized him instantly. It was the infamous Monsieur Demas, the same oenw ho he saw in his father’s system log. The same one who orchestrated his coming to the Bureau. . “I want you to be here, because I heard some very troubling news about how you came into the bureau. And the things that attacked you. So, lets talk, shall we?” Demas pointed to the chair in front of his executive style glass table. “Where is she?” Lekan asked, looking around. “If you mean your tutor, then she would be outside. I don't have a meeting with her. It's you. And since i got to know that you are here, already. I asked to see you.” Demas
He was dumbfounded about it. But there was really nothing to say about it. It was what it was and Lekan could not bring himself to default it. Not when he knew what was at stake. When he first had the inkling to come to the bureau, he had the idea of coming to check if his system was indeed defective. On getting here, that seemed to be the least of his concerns. He had not bothered to even get on with it. What disturbed him was the rate at which blackmail was used in this palace. Was what that person saying the day of the orientation actually true? That the bUreau could not be trusted? Was that what his father had meant to inform him by forbidding him through the system log never to go there? Had he actually messed up? All of these questions continued to roam through his head for free.they stole his attention, drifting him away from the lecture that was about to begin in his special system class. He was tired of everything and above all, he wanted to leave. This was not what he plan
“Why is that?” Lekan asked. “Because those people have a grudge of many centuries ago. And once they have the chance to get out, they would not hesitate to take their revenge on the world of today. This is the risk we bear as system bearers. This is the one commandment we must never break, no matter what line of justice we find ourselves in.” Lekan sighed as he heard the words from the homeroom tutor now. Now he could understand the desperation of Amihan to break out of him. The reason why he so desperately wanted to be in control and why the system lady continued to advise him against swapping control with the demon. However he could not wrap his head around one thing. How was it possible in the first palace for the system bureau to even achieve a feat like this? If indeed these System Cores were once people who were alive. Or even demons like in his case, then how come it was possible that the system bureau had been able to tame them with systems? He was perplexed about this.
