Duke Morgan entered the store, and his powerful aura was enough to make the gathered crowd step back in awe of him.

The Duke of Glamorgan was actually blessing them with his presence!

Duke Morgan coldly scanned the store, trying to get an idea of what had happened. However, the moment the manager laid eyes on him, the look of arrogance on his face was wiped clean.

He blinked rapidly, his mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for air. He shot a panicked glance at Julius, then back at the Duke, his brain struggling to understand what had just happened.

This low class man he had mocked and humiliated… he wasn't faking it? This man had actually called Duke Morgan, and the Duke had actually come there too…?

For a split second, his face drained of color, but his instincts quickly kicked in. He plastered on a bright smile, the kind of polite expression he only saved for royalty and billionaires.

He hurried forward, nearly tripping over himself in his eagerness.

Julius had been prepared for this outcome the moment he stepped into the Zehra Royale Malll. He knew that powerful people like Duke Morgan naturally had enemies lurking in the shadows, and since their attempts to kill them during the Summit had failed, they would probably try and finish two powerful targets as soon as possible. The manager was tightly clutching the hilt of his dagger in his right hand, while the crowd that had gathered near the store started to scream and cry in panic, trying to get away from the range of the gun as fast as they could. Meanwhile, the manager tried to pull his hand and stab the dagger, but Julius’ reflexes were much faster. While his arm was still in the air, Julius squeezed the manager's neck and pulled his dagger- wielding arm back, dislocating his shoulder from the socket and sending him staggering backward. However, in his desperation, the man clung tightly to Duke Morgan’s leg. The sudden force caused the Duke to lose his balance, and he fe

As soon as they stepped into the Sail Hotel, Duke Morgan wasted no time. He turned to Julius and Miley, his expression grave,“Come with me. Just the two of you.”Julius and Miley exchanged glances before following him down a corridor. The Duke led them to a secluded, soundproof room, his entire body was tense with urgency. Once inside, he shut the door firmly and turned to face them.“After what has been happening in the last two says, I don’t trust anyone, not even the staff at the hotel.”He admitted, rubbing a hand over his face. “Except you two, and my personal guards. If we had more than two guards with us today, Julius wouldn’t have been outnumbered over there! You may have beaten the odds today, but we may not always be so lucky.”Julius remained silent, standing with his arms crossed, his expression unreadable. Miley, on the other hand, frowned slightly, understanding the Duke’s concern. The Duke continued, his voice low but firm. “From now on, I’m enhancing security—not jus

Early the next morning, Julius and Miley left the Sail Hotel for the Hammonds family mansion, even though Duke Morgan was still worried about their safety and requested them to stay at the hotel– at least until the Morgan family Summit officially ended. And the sun had already covered one third of its path by the time they reached the city. Julius sat in the driver’s seat, one hand casually resting on the wheel, his sharp gaze flicking between the road and the rearview mirror. As they turned the corner to the mansion, Miley stole a glance in his direction before clearing her throat. “So… what now?” She asked, her voice hesitant. “Where are you planning to go from here?” Although Julius hadn't shared much about her past, Miley knew that his ex-wife had kicked him out of their home, and she wasn't sure where he was going to go next. Julius didn’t answer right away, and instead kept his gaze locked ahead, smoothly pulling into the long driveway of her estate. Miley, assuming th

The moment Julius and Miley were waiting for came faster than expected. A few seconds after Julius asked her to call Duke Morgan for backup, there was a faint but unmistakable rustling in the bushes outside. Julius' sharp gaze darted towards the right, and Miley followed his lead, picking up the subtle creak of a shifting weight on the perimeter wall of the Hammonds’ estate. And before she could ask him what he was planning to do next, Julius moved at the speed of lightning. Miley barely had time to react before he shot up and started striding toward the door. His movements were quick but controlled, like a tiger silently closing in on its prey. He didn’t even bother reaching for a weapon before slipping outside without making a single sound, following the faint sounds of the spy’s movements. Miley played her part well, pretending to call the Duke and announcing that she hadn't received any answer from her yet. After confirming that his targets were caught in a tough spot

And then came the assassin ls at the mall… she confessed that someone had put a bounty on the Duke’s head, and the desperate actions of her comrades only proved her right.”Miley suppressed a shudder, recalling how effortlessly Julius had broken the assassin’s will to resist.“The organization behind these attacks at the Zehra Royale was the Red Albatross. His security team moved efficiently around them, coordinating, reporting, clearing the path for them to leave. Yet Julius stayed by Miley’s side, not more than a step away, his posture protective without being overbearing."You cold?" he asked casually, glancing at her from the corner of his eye."A little," Miley admitted.Without a word, Julius shrugged off his jacket and draped it around her shoulders. The fabric was still warm from his body, and it swallowed her frame, but she didn’t have it in her to protest. She looked up at him, surprised by the simple gesture."Thanks," she said quietly. He grunted a little, stuffing his hands into his trouser pockets. "You can thank me later. Preferably after you stop looking like you’re about to collapse."Miley chuckled under her breath. "I’m fine, really.""You always sa

His hand shot out, catching the attacker’s wrist mid air with a bone-jarring grip. His eyes blazed with fury as he tightened his hold, forcing the man to his knees with a sickening crack."You think you can touch her even in your wildest dreams?" Julius growled, his voice low and lethal.“ Do you really think that no one is standing behind her, do you really assume that she is all alone by herself, or do you really think you could imagine hurting her, without even knowing who actually holds her back?”With a sharp flick, he threw the man’s arm back, sending him crashing into a line of chairs. • Iron rod

The Lawrence Hall, which was supposed to be buzzing with celebration and ideas, had turned into a warzone. The grand banners of the Female Entrepreneurs’ Summit fluttered weakly under the whirring air vents, their messages of empowerment and progress now bitterly ironic. Armed men patrolled the marbled floor like vultures circling prey, while nearly forty women, all bound and gathered like cattle, sat along the marbled floor under the barrels of loaded rifles. The air was thick with fear, and the scent of sweat and expensive perfume mingled into something nauseating.Every male security guard and staff member had been dealt with already, and now lay unconscious by the exits and staircases. The attackers; twenty-five masked men, all armed and speaking in clipped, foreign accents, had taken full control.Their movements were sharp, mechanical, and practiced. This wasn’t random, or a coincidence. The ambush was planned from start to finish. That much was clear, but their agenda was

  • Stand by!

Since the moment Miley had kissed Julius on his birthday, something had shifted—and not just between them. The tension that once simmered beneath the surface had burst open like a dam, and now, in its place, there was complete silence. A week had gone by, and Miley had skillfully managed to dodge every attempt made by Julius to talk, meet, or even casually bump into her. At first, Julius tried to be patient. He reasoned with himself that she might need space—that maybe the kiss had been impulsive and she regretted it. But by the seventh morning, he was done playing the fool. So when he saw her strolling into the hallway in her satin night suit, arms raised in a lazy stretch, her hair tousled from sleep and a faint yawn escaping her lips, he decided it was time. She froze mid-step when she noticed him standing there, arms crossed, leaning casually against the wall. Julius didn’t say anything at first. He just stared. Miley blinked at him and frowned, trying to walk past him, but aft

  • Happy Birthday

Julius had barely taken a moment to catch his breath, when the sound of footsteps alerted him to the presence of someone. However, before he could get panicked and act, he realized it wasn't more goons, but just the guests who had gathered around the corridor after hearing the commotion, their murmurs rising with every second. The sight of two groaning men on the floor and Julius standing over them like a storm personified was something none of them had expected at a birthday party.Someone had just given Miley a hand; and now, she was standing to the side, visibly shaken, her arms crossed tightly over her chest as if trying to hold herself together. Her hair was disheveled, her cheek slightly bruised where she had fallen earlier. Julius turned toward her, concern written all over his face, but before he could reach her, Laura’s shrill voice cut through the tension.“And who exactly is this girl? And what sort of company does she keep, I wonder? Any decent woman would know better t

“You’ve always been uneducated, classless, and an idiot!” Quella shrieked, her voice cracking with fury. “But you’ve truly lost all shame today, Julius!”The ballroom had quieted once more, heads turning toward the escalating chaos between Julius and his former wife. Laura was still on the floor, wincing and trying to gather herself, while Quella stood firm—her voice the only thing piercing the heavy air.“How dare you push my mother-in-law like that!” she screamed, flinging a hand toward Laura. “Has that girl really done some kind of magic on you? You’ve completely lost your consciousness!”Julius didn’t even look at her. His eyes scanned the crowd, desperate and unfocused. He had only one thought now—Where is Miley?“Oh, I see what this is!” Quella sneered. “That’s why you’re after Kenneth, isn’t it? You think that if you send him to jail, I’ll come crying into your arms?”She laughed, bitter and mocking. “Grow up, Julius! Who even thinks like that? Teenagers? Children? You really t

The slap echoed through the grand ballroom like a gunshot.Quella staggered back, clutching her cheek. Her eyes widened in disbelief, then turned red as tears welled up in them, stinging her eyes. Her face stung from the unexpected blow, the sharp imprint of fingers still burning across her skin. First came the shock of being hit, then the pain of the impact. And finally, hot, white anger.“What the hell? Who are you?” she shrieked, voice shrill with fury. “Fucking slut! Do you even know who I am? Thriving on my leftovers, really?”Miley didn’t flinch. Her hand was steady, her posture poised. But the glint in her eye was cold steel. A smirk curled her lips as she said, “I think Mrs. Sorren gave the perfect description of you—lying, cheating, a whore who isn’t worth anyone’s trust. But let’s leave that aside for now.”She leaned in, voice cutting like ice. “Do you know who I am?”Quella scoffed, still clutching her face. “Yeah, yeah,” she spat, rolling her eyes. “You must be flexing y
