Adam made his way through the city.
He felt bad for leaving Amy behind. He didn’t know how long it would take for him to be strong, but he had to keep the promise. After completing the system mission, he had to come back for Amy’s birthday in four months.
Travelling through the city was a painful process for him. Many people were travelling in the streets, but for his luck, many people didn’t even get close to him due to his appearance. Even so, the city of the West coast was not small at all. By the time he reached the north gate through the market district, he saw the sun located in the sky west of him.
‘Couple more hours before the sunset,’ he thought.
‘How do I get to the east?’ he looked at the mountain range stretching far and wide.
However, the road he got out led the way straight toward the north. Both sides were farmlands. Although he didn’t know, Adam believed most of these farmlands belonged to nobles or the royal family.
Many people were going in and out of the city. As he walked out, he realised if he came back in his shabby clothes, he might not be able to enter the city again. Because of the increasing number of refugees, guards stopped all who were in shabby clothes. And if they had no business in the city, it was very hard to pass by them.
Adam walked along the road for about an hour before traffic got thinner. Many who can travel fast left him in the dust. And the few who couldn't do that found a place to settle down in the city or around it. Not long after, Adam came to a bridge, and the river flowed peacefully from east to west. And both sides of the river were small wood separating endless farmlands from the river. Adam smelled his clothes, and he felt his stomach rolling.
He hasn’t had a shower in a week. Last time he took a quick dive in the sea near the port with Amy, but the saltiness made him reluctant to do it more often. He slowly made his way into the woods. And once he was confirmed that he couldn’t see the road or the bridge anymore, he didn’t hesitate to strip naked and get into the water. It was a pleasant sensation for his body that felt battered and painful.
As he enjoyed the peaceful bath, the metallic sound of the system appeared in his brain.
‘Shit,’ every time this sound came, it had something to tell him. As expected, a new set of lines appeared in the blue background.
- The host is out of reach from prying eyes.
- The host is advised to change into the system designated clothes.
Adam couldn’t help but complain,
‘The road is long and dusty. If I wear anything else, it will get dirty.’
‘Wait,’ suddenly he read it again. It was not asking him to wear the clothes given to him by Mr Han, ‘system designated clothes? how am I supposed to find those?’
Then he noticed the new green blinking word in the system, ‘Storage,’ He wondered what was in there as he checked he saw another thing inside.
- Believer’s Clothes - Clothes of a true believer of the wolf god.
Special effect 01- Follower of a true god’s charm - There is something special about a man who has trust in divinity. People will feel a small strand of divine presence in you.
special effect 02 - Durable - Will be cleaned and repaired by the system
‘How do I get this out?’ He wished to get it out.
Especially because of the second option in the clothes.
And the next moment, a strange set of neatly folded black clothes appeared on the patch of grass near him.
................
Half an hour later, a new-looking Adam appeared out of the woods.
He wore a pair of black pants and a black shirt. It came along with a matching black long mantle with a hood. And on the chest area of the mantle, joined to form a colourful head of a wolf. A piece of cloth that came with the dress covered his face. Now, only part of his forehead and clear blue eyes were exposed in his face, giving him an air of mystery.
Adam was happy his hands were finally free. The system storage allowed him to store his things inside it. And according to the system, it currently had nine cubic meters of space. And as his mental strength grows, it will expand, allowing him to store more things. And what made him happier was that at the current level it allowed him to store food in fresh condition for six months. Food was something he was always worried about, and now Adam felt safe.
Still, his body was in a bad condition, and he could only walk slowly, keeping his energy saved.
However, now a few people who passed by gave special attention to him. As his thin body was now concealed, the slow walk gave a completely different impression. Like he was a man of power.
With mysterious clothes and dignified walk, some suspected that he was a powerful magician.
However, what diverted Adam from magicians was that they rarely walked.
Adam, however, was oblivious to these things as the sky was getting darker. He was planning on finishing his dinner early and resting to regain some energy. By now farmlands covering both sides of the road were gone. And the growth of trees was increasing, alarming Adam to rest and continue tomorrow.
Months of travelling from the Black Dragon empire as a kid has given him many memories of travelling. Adam finally saw a few wagons stopped by the side of the road and a large bonfire on the field with at least twenty or more people in the surrounding. He didn’t have any mind joining them.
He passed their location silently and found a place a bit far from the group to settle himself. It didn’t take him long to build his fire. And not long after he ate a bit of food taken from the storage. He was happy now he could keep food for a long time. That also made him greedy too, because the amount of food would only decrease with time.
Finally, Adam had the time to think about how his life has changed over one night. Still, he had no idea if he could reach Westwood within one week, but he had to try, for himself and Amy.
He sat on the ground with his back against a large tree and faced toward the fire. As usual, he would be half-awake through the night. He couldn’t remember the last time he had a peaceful sleep, but as long as safety was not guaranteed, he would not sleep like an idiot.
...
While Adam was resting, not far away from him, one of the adventurers started to notice the small fire through the trees.
“Ms Karina, someone is camping nearby,” Dean was acceding to classifications, 5th tier Hunter, who was very good at tracking. Therefore, Karina, their party leader, didn’t have any doubts about his observation.
However, there was no reason to be alarmed if the other party was openly camping, which means there was very little chance that they were hostile. Still, she wondered what alerted this man.
“Well, there is no problem with it, right?” she was curious about why Dean was worried.
“There is only one person,”
Karina’s eyes opened wide. Not only her, but all the people listening also got alert. This road which led from West Coast city led to many places, but there were very few villages between them. And it was rare to see someone travelling alone.
Either a person was a madman or a man with power.
‘A magician,’ she thought, then discarded the possibility.
Magicians’, even the low-level ones, had money, and they hired adventurers like them to protect themselves. Otherwise, they travelled by simply joining a group of adventurers. Because even for a lower-tier magician, this road might carry too many surprises.
If it was a higher tier magician, they might fly over the area and reach one of the cities within a day.
‘Can it be a powerful magic warrior?’ No, even if he was, he would still fly over this place.
Even though this road was under the protection of the Crimson empire and bandits and robbers had no guts to stay around, still, animal attacks and disappearances were not very rare here.
“Let’s go and check,” she finally made the decision. Others were also interested in looking into this mysterious person, and a few got up to follow them.
Then they started moving through the trees. And automatically, everyone became careful with their steps and started moving to make fewer sounds. They started to see the dark figure sitting cross-legged against a tree.
However, the moment Karina stepped into the open area, Adam who was half awake immediately opened his eyes, making everyone feel alert. And for some reason, Karina felt a bit worried by the mysterious blue eyes looking at them.
Adam, who lived the last year of his life on alert, heard them from far. However, he was too tired to react immediately, and the moment they came to his camping ground he opened his eyes.
“We mean no ill will sir,” Karina who felt that they shouldn’t offend this man first made the move to show goodwill.
But Adam was observing them, thinking about what he should do, and he had no mind to answer their greeting.
“I am Karina, I am the leader of our party, sir, may I know your name?” Karina felt she made the wrong move the moment the other party stayed in silence.
Even others, usually stubborn adventurers, felt the air around man make the impossible to look at him directly.
“Adam,” he simply replied, it’s not like he could introduce himself as a refugee, right?
Suddenly the system appeared,
- The host is a follower of the Wolf God, please have some dignity, and the host can introduce himself as such.
- Followers of the wolf god were the executioners of evil who carry the wrath of dawn and shadow.
‘What’s with the dawn and shadow? I thought Wolf god is the god of Shadows,’ Adam completely ignored others as he felt like this system was making him confused.
- Wolf God is born with the dawn, and as a follower, you’re also bound to protect dawn. A Shadow is born from the first light
While Adam was trying to figure out the origin of Wolf God.In a village to the east, a young girl who was resting in her room heard a weird noise outside the house. It was like something scratching on the wall. For a few minutes, she ignored the noise until it got louder. Initially, she was hoping someone else in the house would check the situation, but since the noise was so disturbing; she decided to go and see for herself.‘Strange,’ she found that their living room was empty.“Ren, is that you?” she yelled her younger brother’s name, thinking he must be playing a prank on her. She listened for a few more seconds, but other than the scratching noise, it did not answer her. Finally, she lost her calm.“I will catch you myself,” yelling she got out of the house. The angered girl made her way toward the back of the house where the noise was coming from. However, her brother was not there. She saw a strange-looking girl with long black hair in a white dress squatting by the house wal
Luck was on their side, or whatever happened at the place where Adam found arrowhead might have been insignificant. The group managed to reach the open fields of the stronghold by afternoon.Adam noticed it had thick walls made of stone and a large area around it was grassland. He heard one old adventurer explaining to someone else that this place and surrounding the villages were the actual origin of the Crimson Empire. That was the reason this place had great security and high defence. Many roads were leading to different areas from the stronghold, and the surrounding area had a considerable number of small campsites. Adam realised this place was busy, although it was not at the same level as West Coast city, to an area without a town, the number of caravans and people gathered were extremely high.Once they reached the intersection between the roads, a small group of guards stopped the carriages. And Karina, who had experience, immediately went to them. Adam realised he was lucky to
“Yes,”His word made the smile on Carl’s face grow even brighter. He was not optimistic about a 9th tier mage travelling with a group of adventurers. Still, he will have all the available help.Westwood Village was not some common village. All the men here are at least around 6th tier warriors. Therefore, the disappearances were not something to disregard.Another thing that Carl could feel was the weird sense of superiority coming from this mysterious man. He has to say he hated it because they were warriors. The Crimson empire had the least number of Magicians, assassins and even well-trained arches. Because they loved to rely on their strength. In the military, Magicians didn’t receive the same respect as a magic warrior who knew how to fight. “I will check the surroundings first,” Adam didn’t wait for his response. He wanted to get away from this awkward position. Also, he needed to get the system reward. Adam turned to the jungle, looking for a secluded place.Looking at his depa
Adam had no idea he had caused a scene as he arrived at the Westwood Village. After all, he was astonished by the magnificent village. Buildings and roads looked much older and historical. Most people wore simple clothes or animal skins.Since no one stopped him at the village gate, he simply walked in. And he looked at the giant men walking around. He felt, even with his new strength; he was inferior to these men. The village had no visible area for farming, and he assumed that these people must be mostly hunters.Adam suddenly heard numerous footsteps, and he could clearly say that at least fifty or sixty men were moving together.‘Hunting party?’He looked in the direction people were coming from, ‘Ehh, definitely not a hunting party.’ He saw a few familiar faces among the group. That included Empire Calvary and Village guards. ‘They must be investigating,’ he glanced again at the group approaching from far and got back to his business. He at least wanted to take some time to loo
It took them more than half an hour to prepare for the search. The final group was around a hundred people, including Karina’s adventurer group, Empire Calvary and village guards.Other than that. Hunters from the village, Old chief, and to Adam’s amusement, Sean, the old priest of the village also arrived with the search party. Some men carried heavy bags with food and water. Adam started to think that it might be a long night.“Master Adam, we are ready to go. Should we send scouts ahead?” Carl was worried about what they would find with the girl.“Just follow me,” Adam took the lead without thinking twice. It would be night soon, and the more he delayed the search, the more the girl would be in danger. He didn’t forget what was the description of the curse by the system. It was not some magic, but a curse created by world laws. He had no idea what that meant, but if the system was correct, the curse was much more dangerous than any magic.“We are ready to move,” Joran finally finis

‘One mission is over and another came right after,’ Adam wondered why there was another mission. And this time, there was no punishment for failing.‘I might fail this one,’ he thought, looking at the given duration. He didn’t wish to come with the source of the curse because he clearly remembered the words describing this curse. Someone created it.He decided to receive his new skill right now. After all, it was a type of knowledge.- Mystic Knowledge (basic) – Transferring to host- Basic requirement met (Spirit - F+)- Authentication success- Mystic Knowledge (basic) skill transfer successAdam didn’t know whether it was a type of knowledge or his spirit being at E- other than sudden dizziness there was no discomfort this time receiving the knowledge. Finally, he understood two things. First, a possibility system was giving him the abilities that were useful at the moment of completion of work. The next thing was the bracelet in his hand was created by human hair, and it had a wea
Other than old Sean who decided to stay and help, the others went away, giving Adam some room to work. Joran initially wanted to persuade him to rest, but with the current condition, it’s best that they resolved the problem fast. Therefore, they decided to let him work in the end.“Master Adam, can’t we send this to your church?” Sean was trying all measures to get it done.‘What church?’ Adam shook his head. “Not an option master Sean, this book says they destroyed the ones they found, which means there was more than one. We should find a way to do it ourselves or we will be in trouble again,” He was fully concentrating on the book while Sean was going through other books hoping to find the ritual.“I thought God will protect us, in the end, in his holy place this evil thing is still effective,” Sean said in a disappointed tone‘What god? Should I tell him the truth?’ Adam wondered halting his reading.‘Maybe I should,’ he decided“Your god is no longer here Master Sean, maybe when t
“Amazing.”Despite her words, the older girl saw several teardrops in the eyes of her little sister, and she didn’t say anything about that. The story was sweet and sour. She picked her up and held her against her chest. Their mother and father were talking with some other families in the distance. Many pilgrims and worshipers walked around them, and some were telling the same story as her. It was the story of a legend. “That is the story of the Great Blood Wolf.” The older girl ended the story, holding her younger sister’s hand in front of the massive statue of their Grand Empress and Her Consort. The Blood Wolf. “Oh….” Her little sister looked elated, looking at the massive statue of the couple. The greatest rulers of the world. She knew her sister would ask about this story again and again, but she was happy to see her little tail swinging in excitement. “Are you happy?” “Yes. I am very happy. I want to be as strong as the Grand Empress in the future.” “Of Course, you
“Grandfather?” The old man shook when he heard this call. He wanted to strangle this thing to death, but first, he needed an answer. “Why did you do that? Why did you kill my Grandson?” His face looked tired and battered. Time was not a concept for him, and he hoped to see his Grandchild someday. He came here because he almost felt the presence of his little boy. However, it wasn’t him. He looked at Chaos. He remembered the day when he first saw the two-headed infant drifting across the universe. Their first meeting wasn’t a good one. The first time he met him, this kid attacked him and even injured him. However, he treated Chaos as a child and even adopted him into the family. He grew up together with his only Grandson. They were great friends and family. His Grandson never treated Chaos badly. That was the reason he permitted Chaos to go with his Grandson when he left to become the first Guardian of the universe. He was the one who even granted this power to his Grandson on
Adam crashed onto the ground with full force. He didn’t want to slow down when he saw the hideous figure standing on the beach. He knew what it was. He gritted his teeth to ignore the head-splitting pain that came with the memories. He was finally looking at the nemesis of this world; Chaos. Adam wished he could end this thing with one blow. Because it was something that shouldn’t exist. He was betting the lives of too many people, and the life of the Empress. If he failed right now, he would fail the entire world forever. His punch landed inches away from his target, but that thing moved several metres away with ease. The ground shattered under his blow, and the foul stench of the chaos entered his nose. He finally understood why the world and Mahisha failed to access this ground. Because it was contaminated by Chaos. He already created armour around his body and coated his sword with the aura of the Abyss. He didn’t have a reason to drag this. ‘This is not going to be
“Still nothing, commander.” “What exactly is going on?” Morga Steelbeard was lost. Not in the sea, but in his own thoughts. After two long months in the sea, they finally found their destination. As the second fleet commander of the Crimson Empire, he had an army of his own. Although it was still not at the level of Sakura’s fleet with twelve warships and two supply ships; his seven-shipped fleet was the second powerhouse of the sea. The land was just ahead of them, but they failed to find anything even after searching for two days. The western continent looked desolate and abandoned. There were not even large animals. This was too alarming for him. They saw birds and small rodents, but nothing bigger than that. The forest looked untainted for generations. He didn’t even think about sending a landing party. The risk was too much. ‘What exactly is happening?’ They passed through the so-called barrier about a week back, and there was nothing in between the northern continent an
“We should leave!” “Yes, Your Majesty.” Adam smiled, looking at the Empress. He wondered how many changes she made within the day to the castle. “I changed the 12th floor entirely. You should go and see.” “I will, Your Majesty.” He was sure it would be a combination of blue, shades of blue, and some gold, white and silver, and more shades of blue. There was nothing more to think, but he knew way better than to voice it out. ‘It is a good thing I have Mahisha to help her.’ He wouldn’t get any time to train his powers if he had to change the Abyss castle by himself. He sometimes felt the Empress was playing with the castle because it could be changed based on her simple thoughts. He didn’t care much at all. As long as she was happy with it. When she came here for the first time, she had a lot of complaints about the dull colours and the bad choice of material. In the end, he had no choice but to let her handle the decorations and colours as she pleased. “Not now. We have
Adam moved fast and landed in the area he saw the camps. He simply nodded at the people who started greeting him,He already found Alex, and he didn’t seem to be alright. “My Lord!!”Adam nodded at David before entering the tent. Already, there were several healers around the bed, including Mila. ‘Not good.’He felt Alex’s breathing wasn’t stable. “What happened?”The people made way for him with ease.“My Lord. There seemed to be a weird poison.”“Poison?”He didn’t smell any poison, but he realised Alex was unstable. Someone had removed the clothes from his upper body. His veins could be seen on his chest and there was a back lump on his chest. The wound was gone, but he wasn't getting any better. “Hm… Divine power.”He didn’t expect the enemy to use such a weapon. If it was before, he would have had a hard time dealing with this, but not anymore. The divine power was just another source of power restricted to this world. Although it was the most powerful, it wasn’t powerful en
“Are you alright?”“Yes, Your Majesty.”Adam sat with the Empress, looking at the two girls playing on the beach. To him, knowing the truth didn’t hurt much. Rather, he felt relieved to know the truth. ‘Am I angry?’He couldn’t say no. He was angry. If he didn’t lose his father, things would have been much different for them. Maybe… Just Maybe… His mother could have survived. Of course, it would have changed many aspects of his life, including moving to the West Coast, but he wished his mother to be alive. However, knowing the Church of Light might be behind his father’s death didn’t sting as he thought it would. As for how he knew his father was dead; that was because of what he saw in the underground of the church. There were hundreds of dead bodies being held there, draining the liquids from the,He didn’t know what was the exact process, but he saw the so-called Life potion coming out of that facility. Besides, Helen confirmed this matter. ‘If not for Amy and Zafira, I would ha
“We have to run!” Oliver heard someone yelling, but he didn’t know what to do. “He followed the orders of the king, coming here to destroy the Summer Palace city. The reason was to simply buy them more time. According to the information they received, the army was led by the infamous three Generals of the Crimson Empire. Since the main army was already divided into three, there shouldn’t be enough power to fight against twenty 10th-tier powerhouses at the same time. Besides, the Crimson Empire army should have more than enough Dwarven machines to face them. However, there shouldn't be enough time to move them for a defensive battle or to mount them on a wall. In a sense, there was no way this city could stand against them. What really worried him was the results. They were doing all these things based on the assumption that the owner of the taboo name wasn’t as powerful as they said. However, he didn’t understand why they were underestimating the revenge of the Crimson Empi
Alex floated toward the north using his magic. He wasn’t as weak as he once was when he passed through the Summer Palace city long ago. However, it was a lie to say that he wasn’t afraid. Their original battle plan was to separate their enemies by attacking the different parts of the Blood Baron Kingdom at the same time. Also, by using a portion of their units and the help of the Kingdom of Boria, they should have been able to delay the reinforcements from the other five kingdoms. Lady Helen was to show herself at the Dwarven mountain to create a distraction and intimidation. That wasn’t all. He was the one that took out the enemy scouts near the borders of the Crimson Empire with ease. Then he asked for the help of Lady Helen to take on the Wind Hold city to prevent any news from leaking to the rest of the city. He knew their enemies would realise the threat once the army was divided and Lady Helen fortified the Dwarven mountain. It all went as they planned, but he realised h
