Exposure

"What are you talking about?"

Alves' eyes were alert. It was as though the knowledge he sought was at the mercy of his sight. He shut his eyes for a while. During that process, he heard an activity at his front. When next his eyes flipped open like the pages of a book, the Prime Minister was already on his feet, too.

"I don't know how to explain this to you further, but I'm sure that you do understand and would be able to make a perfect sense of it. You are smart, His Eminence."

Alves didn't know whether or not to be offended by what the fellow had just said. To him, it seemed like the P.M. was beating around the bush and trying to avoid the major question.

"Please have your seat, His Eminence. I owe you every of the explanations. And I don't feel comfortable having you stand."

The Prime Minister's voice was a little calm and soothing. It was obvious that he just wanted to please Alves.
