Chapter 1642 Gustavo Gives up the Fight

Gustavo introduces himself to Josias in our hero's library. While Josias is calm in his armchair with a copy of Stendhal in hand, Gustavo is frowning and indisposed.

“My friend, if you already have that face, maybe it's not a good idea for us to talk,” Josias warns him.

Josias produces a sarcastic smile, “Let's put the cards on the table. Angie is not and has never been your friend.”

“I don't know if Angela ever saw you that way, but at least you see her as more than a friend. I would say you were always in love with her.”

Gustavo neither denies nor confirms, he remains silent.

“Your silence is deafening.” Josias mocks, “And it only confirms my thesis. So sometimes I think that David is not my son.”
