Chapter 1896 A favor for Mrs. Bento

Maggie has an afternoon snack at Café Montanha, satisfied with the recent publication of her magazine. Carmen approaches her, still walking through the city.

“Mrs. Bento, what a pleasure to meet you. How is James?”

Carmen smiles, pulls up a chair, and sits down vis-a-vis her, “He just grows. Years later, I will be attending his wedding.”

“How quickly time passes. My Henrique is becoming a horse. Let people not think that Bernie is his grandson.” Maggie sips her coffee with cream and mint, “So, have you read my latest issue?”

Carmen tries to hide her displeasure, “Ehr... Dear Maggie, I want to ask you a favor.”

“Which?” For Maggie, any 'favor' coming from someone in the Bento family is an express command.

“No more talking about my promiscuous sister in your magazine,” Carmen asks simply.

Maggie realizes she's stepped on a minefield, “Oh shit, did I miss something?”
