Chapter 8

Cumas did not understand everything in the world, he knew that, but him doing research on human behaviour made him think he could prepare himself for some things.

When he entered, there was a huge space in the centre, toys arranged still on the racks on the side, also having that weird colouring and at the end of the room there she was. Daisy, the woman, had a yellow dress, white gloves and a crown on her head, reminding Cumas of specific games he would play at a friend's house.

‘You have to be kidding me’

She looked at the pair of them as they entered and a man came out of a pile of toys from somewhere. “Hey, stop it for a second, you can't come in here for no reason,” he wore white gloves as well and put his hand forward. He wore a toy suit, made for kids, making Cumas think he was in the wrong place.

“We were looking for Daisy, Dan told me to come find her,” he acted casual and Daisy nodded. She got up, standing from her throne and walking down. The man looked scared.

“You people must be new here, mentions his name like that,” her spite was scary, Condy was behind Cumas, acting fidelity, Cumas felt it as she straddled behind him.

‘What the hell, is he really that important?’

“Well, he said we could meet you to ask some questions?” He looked at her worried if she was gonna kick them out. She sighed,” I will help you, but it depends.” Her voice became mysterious. He nodded looking at her dress, it was very bushy, as if covering something.

She chuckled, “come on, I will answer them in the back room.” She pointed down the room, Cumas followed and Cindy was right behind. The toys scattered everywhere, but were still able to trod over them. Cumas kept on staring at her, seeing if she would be hiding something.

Cindy saw where he was staring at and she was not happy. Cindy then pulled him by the arm, “Why are you staring at her?” She asked, raising her eyebrow high.

Cumas was truly frightened by how she was acting but he pulled his finger and said, “she may be hiding something, like a gun,” he hinted underneath her creepy dress.

Her eyes widened from it. She smiled and pushed him back, following the lady.

They entered a room.

SLAM!!!

“Alright now, what do you want?”

Her voice was dark and low, a person could not hear them properly, but she was so close, staring them down, making it into a horror game. Cumas moved back, making Cindy get pushed against the door. She mumbled something but Cumas could not hear, the devil was right in front of him.

Her glare dispersed slowly and she moved back, making Cindy squish through as Cumas closed the gap. He asked, sweat on his fore, “what caused this apocalypse to happen?” She blinked then laughed. “Are you serious, that was all?”

Cumas nodded, “Dan asked if anybody knew and he said it was you.”

Daisy turned and sighed at the wall. Cumas realised that the wall was not like everything else but had a pink lining and had white chaise in the middle, with sofas on the outside. On a table there was a computer but Cumas did not want to take his chances to see what was on it.

She looked at him and said, “take a seat.” Her sofa motioned to the one closest to the table and he guessed he had to get there.

‘Man, what she gonna talk about.’

He looks at her and Cindy sits next to him, cating professional, making Cumas elevated.

She spoke in the chair in the middle, facing the two. “People say it was some atomic bomb, thats what people say anyhow, but I really dont know,” her voice changed as she spoke.

Her eyes were arrows, piercing his body, “what do you think?”

Her voice deepened and Cindy’s face drooped.

‘This really is a horror game, just why must she have that dress on?’

He spoke logically, “well, an atomic bomb is something meant to destroy a certain area, was there and area destroyed?”

She smiled a bit, Cindy pulled her legs close to her chest, like a scared baby. “Hypothetically speaking, what happens if there was, because, I don't know,” her eye averted from his and Cumas took a breath again, Cindy grasped Cumas’s behind.

‘Ok, yes do that.’

“Well,” he rubbed the back of his neck, “I would say then yes it could be possible but the area it blew would be small and why blow a small area, it wouldn't make any sense, so maybe an accident from the ground not the sky?”

Daisy’s eyes widened when she heard that, she smiled and stood up and walked to him. She glanced at the girl and chuckled again. She turned to Cindy and said, “stop it, you are embarrassing yourself, trying to control him,” Cumas looked at the two of them quickly, then just sat still.

‘So she found out, guess that's good.’

“W-what are you talking about?”

“I want to speak normally to him, the only other guy except for a few others, so don't ruin this for me.”

‘Her eyes’

Cindy shook frantically and said, “I am sorry,” she spoke quietly. She put her foot on the sofa, making her slide closer to her, “sit on the floor,” she whispered to her ear. She lunged on to the unclean floor and sat still.

“Now, let's talk properly, do you really think that?”

She stood up again, touching Cindy. Cumas sighed, “you didn't have to do that, I broke free from it ages ago,” his eyes looked at him, paralysed from the surprise.
