* CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO

MOUNT SICA

IASIAS' POV

I'm lying faced down and I realize this because I'm basically feeding on the dry grasses. The sun grazes my neck and I realize it is noon.

I raise up my head and I spit out the mixture of grasses and sands in my mouth.

“Wait!” My eyes widen instantly.

“I—I-- I was bitten by a Rota snake. I'm not supposed to be here anymore. I'm supposed to be in mother's arms and going to fish with father at the other side,” I mutter to myself, baffled.

The scratches on my back are still causing me so much pain, and the sting from the eccrifyte and my broken arm hurts the exact same way.

My head is spinning, and it takes me a few moment before noticing that the Rota snake is lying dead by my side. I'm startled as my eyes meets it, given that it is so close to me.

I turn slowly, cautiously —trying my best not to hurt my broken arm or open up the scratches on my back even wider. I'm still alive, and the green fluid is still oozing out, but not as fast as be
