TOWER OF IVÁDIA Nika was feeding the horses in the stable with an apple... The door flung open and the sunlight outside found its path through the open door and brightened the room. Althea walked in hurridly, sweeping the hay which lay on the floor with the edge of her gown. “Sister!” She called as she walked closer to Nika, and Nika could see that she was carrying what looked to her like a scroll in her right hand. When she drew closer, It no longer looked to her like a scroll, she was sure it was a scroll, definitely. “Althea, I assume the dragon has stopped hovering above the castle as I no longer hear the sounds of its wings pushing through the air,” Nika said to Althea and she nodded. “I told you it would go when it realizes that the castle is still not vulnerable enough for it to penetrate. They only got to our sisters in Vocí as a result of only one mistake,” Nika said to her as she turned back to her horse and fed it the apple in her hand. . . “No! You seem to be missin

CAVES OF EFLIE After Delivering the message in Ivádia, it was night and Iasias was still on his way back to the caves as he had reached Eflie few moments ago. he saw the caves ahead of him and the dark night clouds were making it difficult to have a good view of it from the direction he was approaching the caves from. Iasias descended upon the midst of the caves. Elvio, Dalmatius and Domminick who seemed to have fallen asleep much earlier, were all coming out of their caves. “Welcome back boy!” Dalmatius yelled and Iasias nodded. They all sat and waited for him as he flew past them and landed in front of his cave. He walked in, and as he tried turning back into human, the pain which came from the injury he sustained while fighting the eccrifyte came back to him in a more excruciating way. He screamed as a result of the pain immediately he was done putting on his trousers. He lost grip of the shirt as he fell on his knees, screaming. Iasias felt every bit of the pain all over again

TOWER OF IVÁDIA Althea pushed open Nika's door slowly and the sound of the opening door caused Nika to stop pacing all over her room. “Thank goodness! You are here sister, I didn't want to bother you as I thought you might have already been far asleep by this time,” Nika said to Althea as she approached her. “You know you can always wake me any time my attention is required. I'll be always willing to assist you,” she said to Nika and she nodded. Nika grabbed both her hands and made her sit with her on the bed. “You haven't had any sleep ever since the moon rose. Is there any truth in what I just said?” She asked and Nika nodded to confirm that she was absolutely right about her conclusion. “I can't find time to sleep, I've been thinking about this offer, the offer the dragons made to us. What are we going to do about it?” Nika asked and she sighed. “I thought you had gone straight to the council after I left the stable at noon,” she said and Nika nodded. “Yes! I did go to see th

CASTLE OF PILIÁ Katerina believed that she was carrying a young one in her stomach, and this was the right time to proceed with the birth sacrifice. As it stands, three men needed to be executed at the execution ground. The witches were born into this belief and so did their sisters before them. The man who's child you were carrying must be slaughtered and have his blood offered to their sisters who have passed, with the intention of preventing the male involved in the conception process from getting any form of attachment to the child in their stomach. The man whom the child was for must be killed not only to prevent him from getting attached to the child when delivered, but also to prevent it from the other side. The child must not be aware of who her father was, and she must not be attached to him in anyway. Their sisters who has passed believed that the connection between father and daughter was strong enough to change the child's view on what they do and how they treat them, a

CASTLE OF IVÁDIA It was morning, and Varia was outside the Inner gate with her canvas pasted on the rectangular board which has three support system, holding it up to her shoulder level as she drew with charcoal and graphite. Her drawing was of an imaginary man sitting on the ground and resting his back on a tree. He has the hair on the left side of his head tucked behind his ear, and the length of his hair was slightly below his lower neck. He was putting on a pair of trousers and a shirt. One of his knee was raised and his other leg was fully stretched. Sister Cera was walking pass her, and she was forced to make a turn towards her as her artwork obviously drew her attention. She walked down to Varia and stood behind her while she drew, amazed. "Varia, I never knew you are an artist. One of great expertise if I must say?" Sister Cera complemented Varia's work and she dropped the piece of charcoal in her hand and turned to her with a grin on her face. "Thank you sister Cera," Var

CAVES OF EFLIE IASIAS' POV Since Iasias could not lay on his bare stomach in the caves, and his back was severely injured from the fight with the eccrifyte, he slept outside last night and here he was waking up in the same position. He opened up his eyes and his eyes met the morning sun as he was resting his back on the tree and his head was slightly raised, facing the sky. He looked down from the sky and he was startled as he saw Elvio, Dalmatius, and Domminick kneeling in a close range from him. Close enough that their faces were almost an inch away from his face. “What are you all doing?” Iasias asked in shock, and they all gave him space to breath. he sighed as he rubbed his eyes, trying to erase every urge to fall asleep again. “We are worried about you, we have been waiting for you to wake up,” Domminick said and Iasias brows furrowed as he replied, “why are you worried about me?” he asked. Iasias tried to get up, but he rested his head back on the tree the moment he began

CASTLE OF IVÁDIA A few moments after having seen the painting Varia was making. Knitting, Cera was at the kitchen supervising what was to be cooked for breakfast. She felt a light touch on her shoulder from behind and she was startled. She turned back to look over her shoulder and she chuckled as she saw that it was sister Imogen. “Sister, I haven't seen you in a couple of days. Where have you been all these time?” Cera said with a grin and sister Imogen laughed. “We met yesterday at the passage to the library,” she said to Cera and Cera's eyes met the ceiling as she tried to recall what she said. “Oh! Forgive my forgetfulness. I do remember now,” Cera said to her and she laughed. “It seems like old age has caught you better than it caught me,” Sister Imogen said and they both laughed. Cera stopped laughing as a question came to her mind about Varia's drawing. She would like to share the question in her mind with sister Imogen who was still standing before her. “Imogen, have yo

CAVES OF EFLIE Iasias was still sitting by the tree with Elvio next to him. The sun had risen fully, and the radiant energy from the sun grazed the soil. They were both sitting under the tree, but there was nothing to say to each other anymore. Iasias believed that Elvio was finally accepting it, whereas Dalmatius was not yet willing to accept it. Domminick had a neutral feeling about it, and he could not decide wether to accept it or not. “It itches me,” Iasias whispered underneath his breath as though he was only talking to himself, but his intention was for it to reach Elvio's ears. “Let me see what is going on there,” Elvio said and Iasias nodded as he slightly raised his back off the tree. Elvio reached for the piece of fabric that runs around Iasias waist to chest region, and he pushed it down a little to get a glance at the wound. “Elvio, Elvio, Elvio talk to me, please Elvio,” Iasias asked of Elvio as he continued to ignore Iasias as a result of his bewilderment. He did

C I R E N A Somewhere in the wild outskirt of Eflie, an isolated cave that rested far off the caves of Eflie was basking underneath the moonlight. A quiet night in an indeed lonely region. It was an outrageous idea, and only one with a supernatural ability can think of such a space as a home. The witches. . .Only a witch, or one who have had an equivalent power in the past would have had such authority and guts to step into a region as deadly as this one. * * * *“Lydia!” “Sister, the time has come. IASIAS' POVI rush out of the falling castle with my hands tied to Nika’s. We pass the back door as Nika suggested and we arrive at the compound. Varia runs to us and hugs Nika. “I need to get my friends out of the dungeon,” I say to Nika, placing my hand on her cheek and she nods. Just before I take a step, she calls to me, “be careful!” And I nod with a grin. I reach the dungeon and I break through the metal door of the dungeon. The building is already falling apart, as crumbles of sands fall off the cracks on the wall. They are startled as they can't see who it is. I punch a hole into the ceiling and light floods the entire room. I'm half transformed, but they all recognize me.“How are you—” “How is this possible?” “How—”All three of them asks, shocked to see that I'm still a dragon, not even the type we last were, but a different species.“I will answers all your questions, I promise. First, we have to get out of here before it collapse,” I say to them and they completely

NIKA'S POVI'm sobbing, my life has been miserable ever since I got back to Livádia. The choices I made lead to Iasias being captured. I'm ashamed of myself for everything I have been part of, what I have believed in, what I have fought for. It all was backed by selfishness. I won't be able to live with myself if Iasias is executed. After considering everything, my eyes dart to the long, thick rope in my hand and I sigh. My eyes move slowly from the rope and I glance upwards to the ceiling, causing my eyes to meet the metal hock hanging out of my ceiling. ELVIO’S POV The sounds of people fighting wakes and so did it for Domminick and Dalmatius. We three were locked in the same dungeon, and we still doesn't know anything about Iasias or his whereabouts. We heard he was going to be executed and then we heard nothing more. “What is going on out there?” I hear Domminick sat to Dalmatius.“I don't know. What do you think it might be?” Dalmatius asks Domminick and he sighs. We all c

IASIAS' POVI'm on my way to Livádia, I've been traveling with Berin by my side since the night we met Gastrus. He insists we travel by foot so we do not attract the eyes of the dwellers of the east or the witches and their instruments. We have exhausted a morning and a night after the night we met Gastrus, and it is morning now. We hope to get to Livádia before the dwellers of the east reaches them. Berin has tied a rope to the bag holding the Callibra and he hangs it over his neck. It has been a journey through seas and oceans, lands, mountain and forests.“I believe we are near,” Berin shouts to me as I stop to drink from my jar. VARIA'S POVI roll out of my bed, tired. I spent last night sitting by Nika’s door hoping the spell would wear off a bit to give me a chance to speak to Nika, but instead I found out that the spell has being enhanced even more than it was earlier. TOWER OF LIVÁDIAKATERINA'S POV I'm restless. I have long returned back to the castle with Althea after failing to find the slave who escaped. The figans returned back long ago, and he could not be found anywhere near the castle. I keep pacing all over my room until I hear the knock on my door."Who is it? Come in!" I shout to whoever is at the door and the door handle turns. Sister Althea walks in and sigh."Any news about the him?" I ask and she shakes her head."What are we to do about this?" I ask and she exhales. "I don't know what else to do," she says to me and I sigh. "Send out the figans again, we must find him," I Instruct her and she leaves. ISLE OF AGAR The smell of alcohol is what brought me back to consciousness. I open my eyes and I smack my head to resist the headache. Sunlight smites my eyes and I quickly shield them from from its intensity. I try to get up but I can't, instead I roll down the tiny bed I found myself lying on. I groan as I drop heavily to the floor. I lie on my back and my eyes wander the whole room. It is small, there's a red carpet at its center, a rocking chair backing the wall opposite me, several cloaks hanging on an iron rod, a mahogany stool and a ragged curtain at its door. I manage to get up and I trudge towards the door cautiously. My hand sweeps the curtain and I step out of the room. There's an old man by the fire just in front of the room. There's a black pot hanging above the the fire, I peep and I see that there's a liquid bubbling in the pot, the smell of alcohol is strongest in this region so I believe the liquid in the pot is the source of the smell

TOWER OF LIVÁDIAKATERINA’S POV It's morning, I just got up from bed and I haven't even looked into the mirror. I haven't been taken care of myself lately as a woman bearing a child in her stomach should. I stand with my loose garment in front of the mirror and I place my hand gently on my stomach and I sigh. I reach for the wooden cup which contains water from last night, resting on the table and I gulp down the water in it. The cup slips off my hand as the door flings open and I'm startled. It is Varia. She has a fierce look on her face and she seem like she has a lot in her heart to pour out. She has not spoken a word ever since she entered, she has only been glaring at me. “You know, there is a door before a room for a reason,” I say to her, turning back to the mirror —still placing my hand on my stomach. “That wouldn't be your door if Nika was here. Why are you taking everything away from her?” She asks.“That was harsh young lady. Me taking over Nika’s r

ISLE OF AZARIASIAS’ POVMy eyes meet the moon. I takes me moments before realizing that the can't be a moon in a dungeon. The realization of this makes me realize that I'm no longer in the dungeon. I recall the argument I had with Varia. I recall the part where I began to lose my consciousness. I'm weak, it seems like the spell Varia cast on me has side effects. I can't even move my legs without yawning, as though I had been working on the fields. The dungeon is not the only place I'm no longer in, I'm also no longer in Livádia. The ground surrounding me is wet, I don't think the wetness is caused by rain. Its moisture makes it stick to my body. I smell something, I smell a Blosae: A flower which can only grow on an island. I have not been on an island before, but I have seen it before when my mother used to work for the witches in the garden. They had only one of it, and it took them years of nursing it before it grew successful as the climate was not

DWELLERS OF THE EASTDAHLIA’S POVWe watch a red fog rise to the moon. This is a sign. A sign that shows that the fall is near now more than ever. “It is time. Time to journey across the lands to seize our birthrights from the witches of Livádia. The fall has almost come, we rise!” Elena declares.“Let the air that fills my long be not poison, let the breaths of the trees which raised us be our torch,” we all declare, and we move. Livádia is far north of the grasslands, and it will take us at least to nights to reach. .We begin our journey even though it is night. Neither the wild beasts nor the shadows can cross our paths. TOWER OF LIVÁDIAIASIAS’ POV I'm still sitting in the dungeon with Varia sitting beside me. Both leaning on the wall behind us. My knees are raised, her legs are straightened. We can't seem to find a way to tell each other about everything that has happened in our lives in one night. We clearly don't know anything a
