Morning came and the ship reached La Hannah and pulled up by the dock. It had just about the same feel as Pensure but it was three times bigger and so had more people. There were men carving a small boat, men out in the water throwing fishing nets into the water, men by a stand gutting, cleaning, salting and drying fish and men sitting under a large open tent weaving baskets; each one of them busy at their work. Mia left the ship with Mathew, Mr. Bear and Capt. Grovergane and they approached the group of men that were carving the small boat; the group that was nearest to the dock. "Good morning," she greeted and the men paused their work and looked at her and then at her company. "Good morning," one of the men answered; wearing nothing but trousers that had been folded up at the bottom. "Sorry to disturb you but we're looking for someone." "O.k." "Marilyn Gripp," Mia said and Mathew and Capt. Grovergane turned their heads to her as Mr. Bear just smiled to himself. They were there
The ship left the dock and began to sail out. Capt. Mohlenar had said his bit about just how he felt about them heading to Bara Drayago but he had chosen to tag along; his presence was needed and so he put aside his clear fear of the place and joined the company, bringing new life back to the trust. He too dove into his stashed away pirate chest and got his best hat and coat on and was very much ready for the adventure; a black leather tricorn hat and a brown coat. Mia was standing at the helm dressed ready for the adventure as well. Capt. Mohlenar had a coat and a hat of Capt. Jules in his posession and so like his own he dusted them and gave them to her and she proudly put them on; a wide black suede hat and a maroon coat with golden embroidery on it, nicely put together with some of the clothes that the many women that had slept over at his house had left behind; a white blouse, a navy blue corset, knee high maroon suede boots that matched the coat, slick black pants and two thick
The ship sailed on and reached the secluded beach Mathew spoke of. It was a small beach on the extreme opposite side of where the fort was and there was not a single soul in sight. "I can paddle out on a small boat with a few men and go and place the orders of the weapons you need and then we can move them later under the cover of the night," Mathew said. "O.k.," Mia responded. "Whoa hold on, I know his your lover and all but are we seriously going to trust him with this?" Capt. Mohlenar asked. "It does feel a little fishy," Capt. Grovergane agreed. "Thank you." "He could end up disappearing with our money or worse off calling in his father's army to come and arrest us," Mr. Bear said. "He's not going to do that," she said. "I'm not going to do that," Mathew said. "I'm sorry but I just don't trust him," Mr. Bear said. "Mr. Bear seriously," Mia said. They had talked about it before and seemed to be cool about it and so she found herself quite touched by the words that were com
Mia and her entire company were thrown into the holding cells of the fort and as they began to slowly see their lives flash right before their eyes Admiral Krenan was in his office pouring himself a celebratory glass of whiskey; with a wide smile on his face that wouldn't go away, chuckling loudly to himself even. It was finally done. He thought that the vision he had of tying up the last loose ends of piracy by bringing death to the pirate captains that had escaped him had gotten away from him but it hadn't. A good while passed, five whole years to be exact, but it was a vision that would soon come to pass for his son had delivered on his promise; his promise to pretend to help Mia find the two last pirate captains and lure them to Cape Mackerel to be executed for his glory. An execution that had already been set and was to be held the following day at noon. An execution that had already gotten around via word of mouth to the people of Cape Mackerel so that they would be in attendanc
The pirates were locked up, each one in their own holding cell except from Mr. Bear and the other crew men that were put together; one group in one cell and the other group in another. They had been stripped of all their weapons and just sat quietly to themselves thinking about the terrible fate that was soon to be theirs; the terrible fate they were so certain they had escaped but unfortunately had caught up to them. They felt bad that that was the way things were going to end, especially having found nice, quiet and safe lives for themselves; lives that were not the best but were goood enough because unlike their fellow pirates that were no more they were still alive and well. It wasn't going to be for long as they were set to be hung the following day at noon but at least it counted for something; they had managed to survive where many others didn't. And as they felt that way Mia felt even worse. She was an absolute mess sitting in the corner of her cell quietly crying to herself. W
Evening came and the pirates were still in their cells; sitting quietly to themselves thinking on about the terrible fate that was going to be theirs come the following day. A fate that had Mia's heart shattering even more with every minute that went by because it was all her fault. They were all going to be hung and she couldn't stop crying to herself about it. What had she done? She had doomed the pirates to death. They had managed to escape Admiral Krenan's wrath but now they had been caught and that wrath was about to be bestowed upon them and it was all on Mia because she made the mistake of trusting Mathew when she clearly shouldn't have. Not only was she heart broken that he would do that to her but she was disappointed; she felt that with the connection they had that he wouldn't do anything to hurt her but boy was she wrong. And it was in those crying hours that she thought of Peter and missed him so much. What did it mean her failing the quest the time keeper had given her? S
"Quickly after them!" Admiral Krenan shouted as inside the holding cell the pirates started making their way through the hole to the outside, with Mathew right behind them. "Mathew! Mathew!" Mathew stopped and closed his eyes for a moment as he beat himself up inside. He didn't like what he was doing but it was something he just had to do. He didn't like going against his father because that was his father and it was his duty to honour him but he just couldn't stand by and watch him hang the pirates. He had spent a few days with them and had seen for himself that they were not as bad as he always made them out to be. And as for Mia, there was no way he was going to let her be hung, he was madly in love with her, of course he was going to do something. Especially with the fact that he had chosen her over her father; especially with the fact that he had genuinely given himself to the quest and wanted to see it through not just because he wanted to be close to her but because it was for
Morning came and the ship sailed on with haste; headed to the Bara Drayago to reach Capt. Zedarh's island, search his treasure for the kolossimous scrolls and destroy them. Mia was standing by the taff rail of the helm area looking out into the water with a deep look on her face; a face that showed all the different emotions she was feeling in that moment at the exact same time. Heart break and betrayal from what Mathew had done, missing Peter and the wedding she was looking so forward to that never happened, how close they all came to being hung and concern as to whether they were going to be able to do what they were out there to do, if they had what it took to get done what needed to be done. So much was going through her mind and heart that all she could do was just stand there; trying so hard to not let her thoughts and emotions get in the way of the major task at hand but she couldn't help it. She was only human after all and so she was entitled to think and feel a certain way, b
