Lucas sprang up, a chill sweat adhering to his skin. His heart pounded as the striking visions of his nightmare—if it could truly be termed that—remained in his thoughts. It felt incredibly real, so intense, as though he was genuinely present, witnessing the turmoil up close.

He sat up in bed, gliding a shaking hand through his hair. "What on earth was that?"

The grandfather clock in the corner struck the late hour, its deep tone piercing the quiet. Lucas surveyed the dimly lit room, the moonlight's shadows appearing almost threatening in their known presence.

"Only a dream," he whispered, attempting to soothe his frayed nerves. "It was merely a dream."

Yet, even as he spoke those words, he realized they were not accurate. That was not a typical dream. It was a vision—a frightening look at the future, similar to the ones he had seen following the accident.

Lucas tossed his legs off the edge of the bed, his thoughts racing. In his dream, he witnessed the Moretti estate being assaul

Lucas nodded, his hands balling into fists beside him. Affirmative. I witnessed it occur, obvious as daylight. "He was fired upon, directly in the back." Isabella released a gentle sigh, her gaze falling to the ground. "Next, we must determine how to halt it." Lucas blinked, taken aback by her response. "Hold on, you trust me?" "Just like this?" "Hard to believe," he murmured, combing his fingers through his hair. "Why on earth did I get involved in all this?" A gentle tap at the door interrupted his musings, and he looked over to find Isabella positioned at the entrance, her demeanor cautious. "Can we have a conversation?" she inquired, her tone soft. Lucas paused briefly, then agreed, motioning for her to enter. Of course. "What's happening?" Isabella entered, shutting the door after her. She walked across the room, sitting on the edge of the bed, her fingers nervously playing with the fine lace trim on the blanket. "I, um..."
