Rowan Dies in a car accident after stealing an artifact from a cult. He knows nothing about the true meaning of the artifact, but why does a thief care? He just needed money. However, In the underworld, He eccounters a being in hell who makes a deal with him to send him back to the world of the living with a time frame to retrieve the artifact and return it to the cult members for reasons unknown to him. Who wouldn't want to live again? However, when he returns, his partner in crime has sold the artifact for money. Rowan has to find this artifact within the time frame or he dies again. Rowan realizes that now he has shadow powers and somehow he can sense the difference between demons and Humans. He fights several classes of demons to retrieve the artifact but why doesn't he return it to the cult? What was the being hiding from him? A revealed secret makes Rowan team up with Josh, a boy who is obsessed to become a demon and Ajatar, A demon girl with a special ability which Rowan needs. Together, they embark on a journey to an ancient world and attain a sword that could save the human race.
