The friction between the iron door and the floor sounded loud and painful to the ears.

Dakota being conscious, but it is still hard to get himself fully awake. Footsteps approached, and he counted how many people were coming—one, two, three, five people, each with different weights to their steps. Soon, he heard a sneer.

“Look, our handsome professor seems to be awake.”

They cover their voices to be unrecognizable with somekind of masks.

This was followed by the laughter of several others, their voices masked, probably to keep their identities hidden. But for Dakota, who had a photographic memory, that might not be a big deal; he didn’t just remember the voices, but also the character, the rhythm of their footsteps and the way they spoke. He think he might recognize those people, who now seemed to be laughing at him.

“Hahahaha.”
