"Have this coffee, Matteo," Reed said, handing Matteo a cup of coffee. He was sitting by Sylvie's side, clutching her hand. Matteo's gaze switched from Sylvie to Reed, and he snatched the cup from Reed's grip. The door opened as Matteo sipped his coffee, and Peter entered the room. He was also holding two mugs of coffee. "Peter muttered something. With a rigid face, he motioned towards Sylvie's bed.

"Excuse me, Reed had already brought something from me?"

He sighed hard and after a brief pause, said, "No, it's okay."

"I'm grateful for everything you're doing for me."Matteo consoled him with a grin and a hug.

"We have to preserve her," Matteo reassured him, "and it's not done yet." Professor Beth burst into the room, panting, with a jerk of the door.
