CHAPTER 4

Reed's phone rang as he received a call from Matteo.

"Yes, Matteo," sighed Reed as he awoke from my bed.

"Please open the door. I'll be there, "Matteo said goodbye and hung up the phone. Later, Matteo entered Reed's flat and presented him with the book.

"Professor Beth wrote The Untold Phenomenal Living."

"Can you tell me about this book?"

"He wrote it after conducting research because it is about spirituality and witchcraft. As a result, it is based on genuine events."

"All right, so what's the point of this book for us?"

"Hear it firsthand about a legendary tale. Gemma is a young lady who reads on the outskirts of the municipal library. She committed suicide because she was depressed over her exam failure. Meanwhile, her lover Tom went into the library to meet her and discovered her dead body hanging from the roof's ceiling. He murdered himself in that library because he couldn't face the sorrow of losing her. After then, there's a report that Gemma slept with her head in the book. Her spirit had been imprisoned in that book. And her boyfriend Tom's spirit guards that book; no one enters the library after 8 p.m "Matteo remarked, closing the book.

"Nice story," Reed grumbled, "but how is this storey connected to our problem?" He strolled over to the refrigerator and got the bottle of juice out.

"I'll go to the library and get that Gemma book."

"What? Have you lost your mind?"

"I need to prove myself to the Professor in order to receive his support, which is critical for Sylvie's survival."

"F*ck that Professor; that book is nowhere to be found in that huge library."

"No, it's not unthinkable. I looked up the library and read in this book that three friends had bet each other that they would go inside it, but only one of them, John, had the courage to do so. He also discovered the book and summoned his friends who were waiting for him outside. He told them he had Gemma's book, and as he was saying a chapter called "your turn," his phone was cut off. And the next morning, his friends went inside and discovered that all of the library's volumes were on the ground, as well as John's dead body," Matteo told Reed about the book's events.

Reed swallowed his anxiety and drank the full bottle of juice. "It's quite terrifying. Are you certain you only want to do this to impress the Professor? "Reed interrogated him. Matteo pinned his eyes with Reed and kept the book on the kitchen counter. His eyes were serious and solemn.

"I'm not doing this to impress the professor," Matteo groaned sadly, "but to save my Sylvie from the curse." Reed recognized Matteo's predicament and responded with a nod.

Matteo arrived at the outside library by himself around 12 a.m. He dashed through the library's high wall and gate, sprinting to the main entrance. He had to climb up to get inside through the small window because it was locked. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet, but there was a sense of something nearby. Despite the fact that his heart rate increased, he disregarded it and turned on the flashlight on his phone. He could hear a tapping sound following him with each step. But no one was there except him when he spun around to see. He ignored it once more and accelerated his search for the book in each bookshelf.

His phone's flashlight suddenly turned out, and the library light began to turn on and off. Matteo stepped over to the switchboard and noticed that all of the switches were turned off. To put an end to the uproar, he blew the primary fuse. When he returned his attention to the bookshelves, he discovered that they had all piled up in the air. When he saw this, he was taken aback. One book after another attacked him as he took a step back. He hurriedly crouched behind a pillar, and as the books from one of the book shelves moved from a glass window.

After a few seconds, the books stopped attacking him, leaving only one book in the air, whose pages began to flip themselves. Matteo's sight was drawn to it, and he dashed to the book, leaping over it and catching it with the help of one table. He turned through the pages and found the chapter "Your Turn." Gemma's hanging body picture was also visible.

He clutched it tightly in his arms and dashed for the same window he had come by. The window panel closed as he kept his grasp on it, and he fell to the ground. He looked for another route but couldn't find one. Suddenly, the room began to echo the footsteps' voice. He approached the voice and discovered that it was in a closed room. He got closer to the door when he heard the female yelling.

"You are not permitted to go."

Matteo's neck hair stood up in dread, and he began shoving all of the bookcases in a straight line. Each fall on the ground created a stairway to a comparable window, where the window glass was broken. Matteo seized the opportunity and dashed to the window at full speed. A girl's voice yelled as he jumped from there.

"You are not permitted to go. Come back."

Matteo exhaled in relief as he returned his gaze to the window one more time. He was harmed, though, with a cut on his cheek and scratches on his arm. He felt a profound feeling of joy, and a faint smile crept across his face as he realized he had finally gotten it.

Professor Beth will assist him after he gives it to him, therefore he was one step closer to freeing Sylvie from the curse. I'll die a thousand times over simply to save Sylvie.
