"We are not thieves," Alison said firmly, her voice trembling with conviction. Even her gaze was cold. She didn't like being called a thief, as the boutique owner accused her of being.

The boutique owner laughed sarcastically. She looked at Alison and Paula with an irritated gaze, her eyes narrowing to emphasize his anger. "Have you forgotten what happened two years ago? You came here too. What happened then? There's no way you've forgotten," she said dismissively.

Alison and Paula fell silent, their faces turning pale. Anger and shame flooded through them as the memory of what happened two years ago came back.
