At the Top

Halik suddenly came around the corner inside the gate and pulled his sword pointed it in the air, pumping the thing up and down. The men inside the castle belonging to Nikolas yelled and whooped as they were finally able to join in the success of defeating the fallen Kings army.

Barreth laughed, in shock to see Halik.

“Aye, when did he gets in there?” Barreth said to Nikolas, surprised he didn’t even notice Halik missing.

“After the first arrow was let loose. It was to be kept secret. I had him fall back and then head out by horse in guise of retrieving something from camp for me. I did not get a chance to tell yah, and was surprised ye didn’t notice him gone.” Nikolas laughed.

“Aye, I must be gettin old I reckon.” Barreth responded as they followed the King through the gate.

“Sire.” Halik said, kneeling at the foot of the prince’s horse.

Looking down at Halik and then over to the men and women bound, the prince thought for a moment.
