“You’re all lying! You… ugh!” Brooks collapsed, fainting from the pressure. Aubrey, already in shock from learning her father had coerced and harassed others, stood frozen. While Brooks hadn’t treated her and Brooklyn well, he was still her father, and the situation unfolding before her left her utterly lost.

“Oh, he’s passed out? Not a bad act. Paisley, get some water and splash it on his head. Then call the police!” Willy wasn’t sympathetic at all. He believed that Brooks should pay for the evil he had committed.

“Yes, sir!” Paisley was quick to act. Instead of using the bottled water in the meeting room, she grabbed a ceramic cup and filled it with boiling water from the dispenser. She then doused Brooks with it without hesitation. Paisley harbored no mercy for someone like Brooks, especially given her past—almost being forced into marriage herself if not for her aunt’s fier
