Mrs. Yvonne walked away from Chris and headed to the kitchen after explaining that on Mr. Michael Bolton's instruction, she had actually been on her way to ask that one of the maids take up a glass of orange juice to him. She had told Chris to wait for her so they could head up to Mr. Michael Bolton's quarters together on her return. As soon as she left, Sarah spoke up."Are you absolutely you don't want us present with you when you tell him?" She asked as she looked up at Chris."Yes Sarah, I'm sure." Chris said and smiled at her with a nod. "I'll handle this myself." he finished just as Mrs. Yvonne came into view as she headed to them. "You ladies can head to the garden and someone can ask the maids to get us some snacks and drinks. You don't have to wait for me. Dig in. I'll just quickly see dad and head out to join you ladies." he finished just as Mrs. Yvonne got to them and without wasting time, they both headed for the stairs and began their ascent."Would you want to change
Chris Bolton sat on his bed in his room and stared at the wall opposite him. He could already tell that the day was going to be a really slow day and he was most certainly sure he wasn't going to enjoy it. Matter of fact, on a general note things had been surprisingly really slow. It had been two weeks since he had met up with Mabel Sanders and since he had given the report of the meeting to his father, Michael Bolton. He thought back to the meeting with his father in his study and smiled.TWO WEEKS AGO IN MICHAEL BOLTON'S STUDY"Knowing Arthur, he won't stop at just getting the money to clear off his debts, he will probably run the company down and make away." Chris finished.Michael Bolton remained quiet and absorbed all that his son had just said to him. It was a lot to take in but something wasn't right: why was Mabel Sanders suddenly trying to side with them over Arthur McDoyle?? It was more natural to think of her joining him to execute his plan and making away with him than
Chris stayed in his position and pondered some more then he stood up and walked walked to his window and looked out. For some reason, he still felt off about Arthur McDoyle. Granted, when he actually thought about it, there was nothing to concern him, he really had nothing to be so bothered about, nothing looked out of the ordinary but still something felt off and not right and it nagged at him. He had even been speaking with Mabel Sanders more frequently in the past two weeks, just to check in with her and know that she if she had heard from Arthur and the results of those check in had always been the same; no, Arthur still hadn't reached out and she hadn't either and yes, she would be sure to reach out to Chris immediately and let him know if she heard from Arthur or got wind of any suspicious activity that involved him. The last two check ins however, had ended with her telling him that she was probably just being scared or paranoid but she was beginning to feel like Arthur had got
Chris Bolton sat in his car and stared at his phone in his hand for a few seconds. What the hell had just happened??! Had Mabel Sanders just called him to go help her? Had she said her life was in danger and someone else was trying to kill her, or were his ears and brain playing tricks on him? Had the effect of reliving the bitter and sour memories Mabel Sanders had given him in the LUX hotel few months back caused him to subconsciously fantasize about her death right in front of the LUX hotel?? Was he being delusional? Had that few seconds call actually happened few seconds ago or had he imagined it? He probably had just imagined it. Mabel Sanders couldn't be in trouble. Certainly Arthur McDoyle wouldn't quite literally try to kill her, would he?? Arthur McDoyle. There was really no saying what he could and couldn't do, what he was and wasn't capable of, was there? The guy was a living, breathing, walking, talking, moving load of evil and he also seemed like one to hold on to grudges
Arthur McDoyle leaned back in his chair and grinned widely. The roulette had really begun to spin and they were getting closer to the end of its spin. Stupid Chris freaking Bolton had taken the bait. He really had to hand it to Mabel Sanders. It had all been her idea. Honestly, he hadn't really believed it was gonna work at first. ABOUT SIX WEEKS BACK IN ARTHUR MCDOYLE'S HOME"We can't pull off successfully kidnapping Chris Bolton alone, we're going to need help," Arthur said with a "duh" expression."Says who?" Mabel asked."Well do you have a plan that involves just both of us pulling it off without losing our lives?" Arthur asked."Well yes, as a matter of fact I do" Mabel said and gave Arthur a satisfied but sinister smile. Arthur stared at her with his eye brows raised in question. He didn't like the look and the smile on her face though. He knew Mabel Sanders could be a really mean and coldhearted lady and the look on her face at the moment didn't hide that fact. What co
ABOUT SIX WEEKS BACK IN ARTHUR MCDOYLE'S HOUSE..."OK?" Mabel questioned with the disinterested look of someone who had just spent her time explaining all the good parts of a masterpiece she was trying to sell and knew she was about to be asked some really annoying questions which she wouldn't very much care to answer. "For one thing, we're still going to need to communicate. For another thing, how the hell am I supposed to get into his car?" Arthur said "Also, why the hell do you have to lie to him about me trying to steal money? Did you stop to think that, I don't know, maybe I could lose my freaking job??! The same job you gave the whole speech about the importance of our holding on to!!" Arthur paused again then continued "Also, why on Earth would Chris Bolton come running to your rescue after all you've done to him? I mean, no offense, but if I were him, I would most certainly freaking leave you to have your brains blown out or your guts ripped out without blinking a damn eye
Chris Bolton stared out the window of his car with his hand under his chin as his guard and driver for the day sped through the roads with practiced ease. He appeared calm and reasonably thoughtful to the innocent passerby and onlooker but in reality he was freaking scared and worried out of his mind. He hoped with all had that Mabel Sanders was fine. The woman was a freaking devil but she had sounded so shaken and scared out of her mind. As he stated out the window he imagined every worse case scenario he could possibly meet when he got to the Rum n' Euphoria bar. What if he got there and saw her pinned up against a wall by her attacker as he squeezed the life out of her? Or what if he got there and saw her attacker let go of her neck and release his grip and then Chris got happy to see that he was letting her go but then her attacker dragged a knife out of her belly and she slumped to the ground lifeless and spitting out blood, right before Chris and he could do nothing to help her?
Chris Bolton and Mabel Sanders had been sitted for a while and having a small conversation when Mabel reached out for her drink again with still shaky hands and accidentally knocked Chris' glass over, emptying its contents on him."Oh my word! I'm so sorry Chris," she almost yelled as she bolted out of her sit."It's fine Mabel. Relax. You've had a terrifying experience" Chris said as he got off his sit and helped her back into hers. "I'll just nip down to the restroom real quick so this doesn't leave a nasty stain. Be safe, OK?" he finished as he held her gaze. She nodded and he left.Without wasting a second, she poured a powdered substance into what was left of his drink and shook the glass to mix it up, then she poured some of hers into his. Afterwards she quickly grabbed his phone which he had left on the table, hoping against all hopes that he was still the same Chris Bolton who never bothered with phone locks. She powered the phone and swiped at the screen and it immediately
