WORST NIGHTMARE

Morgan Marguerite sighed, tousled her hair, and shrugged off. "You know I had no choice, Theodora. There was no way I could've saved you and saved myself. You should be thankful that I gave my life in exchange for yours."

"Yea, whatever," Theodora scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Save me the preaching and answer my question. Why are you here?"

"Ain't you overdoing your torture on them? Isn't it time for you to move on with your life and let the past be in the past?"

"It isn't, mother. I'm not yet satisfied. I'll never stop till every one of them dies."

"I feel it's time to move on, daughter. Get a life of your own. Get a man. Make babies. Be happy and forget about the past."

"Don't tell me that shit!" Theodora suddenly yelled and a great thunder rumbled. "I lost you! I lost father! I never felt motherly and fatherly love and you're asking this of me..." She paused, blowing in hiccups and with just a stare at the mirror hung on the wall it shattered.

"I know how you feel daughter..."

"No, you don't! Yea, you died so I could live but do you know how I suffered to get food to eat? Do you know how I got clothes? Do you know how I felt those nights I couldn't sleep? Do you know how I felt those nights I felt cold due to the coldness of the cave? Do you know?"

"Daughter," her mum called and tried to hold her but she flinched and jerked away from her.

"I grew up in pain, sorrow, and misery. For days I battled things unknown. Battled with my deep emotions. Battled with the hate that wanted to overwhelm me until it finally did when I couldn't control it. Alone I mastered my powers. I had no fucking body by my side! Those mortals took away love and happiness from me. And you think I'll let them have those? Never!"

Morgan Marguerite turned her back on her and great air began blowing roundabout her. Her skin began glowing and her red-colored eyes changed to dark green. Her hair began flying around and all the hair on her body stood on end. "Your father also feels you're overdoing this."

Theodora's eyes widened and she strolled to her mum. She turned her over and cupped her cheeks staring deeply into her eyes. "Who is my father? Is he alive or dead? Is he a witch like us or a mortal?"

Morgan Marguerite stared at her without saying anything.

"Speak!" Theodora growled, glaring at her and her body began glowing as well but her mum still said nothing. Her mum stared at her for a while and without uttering a word vanished.

"A dark cloud hovers around you. Beware of the male on which the sun sets upon cause he shall be your weakness and if care is not taken shall also be your doom. Be warned." Even though Morgan had already vanished, her last words still resonated all over the place.

Morgan furrowed her brows and ran her hand through her hair. 'What does mum mean by all that?' She wondered. 'And why is it hard for her to tell me who my dad is? What is she keeping away from me?'

"Gosh! I'm tired of your secrets!" She wailed to the empty air, stamped her feet, punched the air, and stomped out.

Daniel and his mate Daisy arrived home after several minutes of walking and sauntered inside his room, their breathing coming out in short waves due to how long they've walked.

"I need to freshen up," he whispered and without waiting for her reply, stripped and ambled to the bathroom. Daisy watched him walk into the bathroom and smiled. She stripped and joined him too. Both walked out minutes later, dressed up, and relaxed on the bed getting engulfed in the thoughts of all that happened earlier.

Daniel unknowingly slept off while thinking and while he was still sleeping, Daisy quickly prepared Pastry. She dished it into a flat plate, dropped it into a tray, dropped two glasses of wine, and strolled back into the room.

"Baby," she called, patting the sleeping Daniel. "Wake up, baby. Food is ready."

The sweet scent of Pastry slipped into Daniel's nostrils and he stirred open his eyes. "What's that smell?" He asked, rubbing his eyes.

Daisy chuckled, dropped the food in his front, and swatted his arm jokingly. "That is what is smelling." She giggled.

"Hmm. Looks yummy." Daniel grinned and licked his lips. "I'm so hungry. Thank you, babe. Oh." He yawned and picked up his fork. He dug in and began eating. "So sweet," he moaned.

Daisy chuckled and dug in as well, both feeding each other at intervals, their love so radiant on their faces. They finished eating after a short while and Daisy took out the dishes and washed them off immediately. She walked back in and checked the time to see it was midday. "I need to go, baby. My parents might be worried about me. You know I'm all they have. Please come and escort me."

Daniel mutely nodded and stood up. "Let's go."

Daisy entwined their hands and they walked out, giggling at any little thing they see.

They got to her house and Daniel turned to leave but Daisy held his hand, having a worried look on her face. "What is it, babe?"

She sighed and caressed his palm. "Promise me you will be fine and won't try anything stupid."

"I've been fine all this while so why are you suddenly asking me to promise you that I'll be fine?" He asked with a raised brow.

"Just promise, baby," Daisy whined and pouted.

"Fine, I promise. Can I go now?"

She shook her head, having a babyish grin on her face. "It's remaining the last promise. Promise that you won't try anything stupid."

"But..."

"Please," she mumbled, interrupting him and blowing him a kiss.

"I promise. Now, can I go?"

"So you won't give your babe a goodbye kiss?" She pouted and eyed him.

Daniel chuckled and gave her a quick kiss. "Now, can I go?"

"Bye," she giggled and rushed inside.

Daniel shook his head, smiled, and walked out.

He kept walking and was halfway to his home when the air suddenly thickened and he looked up as his face have been down only to behold the worst nightmare of Hilton Bale, Theodora standing before him with a grin plastered on her beautiful but scary face. A jabbing shock shook through him down to his bone marrow, sending electric shivers through him.

"Theodora" he breathed, wide-eyed.
