Unintentional confession

"What did you just say?"

It was only natural for Elisa to be confused. She had just been knocked out of one heavy mood to the other. It was quite a wild yet brief hurl.

"Will you be able to do it?"

Damien asked, carrying on the discourse, as though there was nothing much to worry about. It was at that moment that Elisa realised that he meant whatever he had said. He was not joking around.

She knew too well also that she couldn't talk him out of it. His eyes were cold and unamused. The usual expression he would wear whenever he was not backing down.

She felt thirsty at oncd. She wanted to drink something. She needed something to distract her for a while... or perhaps wash her throat. She couldn't ask him to order something yet. She had no idea why they had not ordered anything yet.

She looked back at him. He was obviously waiting for her to say something. He had asked her a question, it was only right that she provide an answer.
