Starting Afresh
Vincent opened his eyes to the soft touch of morning sunlight. He had fallen asleep on the couch without knowing.

He sat up and the aroma of bacon and eggs penetrated his nostrils. Feeling his saliva meltdown in his mouth, Vincent got up and followed the aroma into the kitchen.

There his mother was, up and working the kitchen. It's been a long time since he last ate anything prepared by her.

"Good morning, mom." Vincent greeted.

"Good morning." Vincent's mother dished out the food and turned off the gas, "I already fed Eli. He went right back to sleep."

"Bon appetite. I know you missed my cooking." Vincent's mother said all smiles as her husband walks in and joins them at the table.

"So, Dad?" Vincent started, "Any idea where I can apply for a job around here?" Vincent asked.

"You want to go job hunting so soon?" Devine, Vincent's father asked.
