Standing on the rooftop opposite BrainHub was a slim figure.
She was in black vest and pants,black sneakers with a nose mask.
She watched as the police were going to and fro in front of the hospital and smirked
"What a waste of time,I was worried for nothing,even till now no one found anything relating to me.it a pity.Jack Mike it is your turn tonight" she turned back and left leaving nothing but a pile of dust.
Jay POV
"Mr Jack,I need to question you. Hope you cooperate"
Mr Jack shifted his glass from his nose and cleared his throat.
"Go on" he sipped his coffee
He was a man of elegance
He is the chairman of BrainHub,I studied him and saw how neat and proud he is.
For a man of 60,he looked quite young
"What was your connection between the three victims?" I threw my first ,I saw how he paused but continued sipping his coffee. If I wasn't paying attention,I wouldn't have known he would halt for three seconds.
"My connection with the three victims? What sort of connection could be between us? We are just employees and employer" he answered without blinking.
"Is that so?" He slowly raise his gaze to mine
"Is there a problem?" He sounded concerned.
"I'm afraid there is,and if you don't tell me the connection between you guys I can't tell what might happen tonight"I was expecting him to freak out or atleast react to what I just said but he was still calm.
This man it will take a lot to deal with him but I don't have time for that so I just brought out my phone
" Did you remember this?" I showed him the picture
And for the first time since we started this conversation,he reacted,I saw how he shivered.
"Where did you get this?" His breath came out shaky.
"Does it ring a bell? The 3 victims got this before they died or should I say that was what killed them" I saw fear in his eyes though he was trying to hide it.
"It's just some random thing we took 10 years ago. BrainHub was just set up that time and as the first staff we took it" he explained trying to avoid my eyes.
"Is that it? Then why is someone going around killing you guys? Is it because you are the first staff?" I waited for him to reply,but he was quiet,tension was building in the office. It was a relief Claire is not here.
She insisted on waiting for me outside,she might have peeped on her body by now.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" I gazed into his eyes and saw how he kept blinking uncontrollably.
"The thing is…" He sighed while I waited for him to go on.
"We are all the founders of BrainHub, while the cleaner was our first staff."
He sipped his coffee while I watched in amusement. He still had the time to sip coffee.
"The major shareholder died back then" He pointed to the old man in the middle.
"Did he die or did you guys kill him?"
"What are you spouting? Just because I decided to cooperate with you does that give you the right to run your mouth" He flared up and I sneered. I was right they must have killed him seeing how tense he is.
"You still don't get it do you? Someone is out there avenging for him,and if you don't explain what happened,you might be dead by tomorrow" I yelled
He froze for a while digesting what I told him
"What...did you….what did you mean?" He shuttered.
"See,he dies first,then him,then her,after her the next person should be you" I elaborated using the picture.
He sat down as if he was poured a bucket of water.
His pride now gone,his eyes suddenly turned lifeless.
"They received this right before they die" I showed him the text.
" I think the Murderer already gave them antidepressants as soon as they saw the message,they got scared and the antidepressants trigger the heart failure" I explained more while he sat down deep in thought
A frown was visible in his face."So save me the stress,I'm starving and sleep deprived,I worked on a case last night and now this" I groaned in frustration.
"It all happened 10 years ago,Joseph the man in the middle like I said he was the major shareholder,we wanted to carry out an experiment using the human brain. He was against it but I and the rest went on with it.The experiment is to switch the human brain to that of a robot." I snuck in a cold breath.
I remembered when I was 10 then,I was still living with my parents and hadn't become a gangster.I recalled the robot with human brain that was launched.
I suddenly have a headache,I thought the robot was just as smart as a human but from this story it is clear they actually gave the robot a human brain.
"Since Joseph wasn't in support ,we decided to use his brain.Joseph was very smart. It was a tough project but we managed to do it.
His wife and kids then lied to them that he died while doing some project."
"At first they believed,until we launched the robot,his wife came knocking at our door. She threatened to expose us.At first we didn't take her seriously but she kept making a scene."
"That day she came to meet me as usual to threaten me but I called the rest of the guys,we met with her at the rooftop.That day it was unintentional but…." He choked and started wiping.
"I swear it was unintentional,she slipped actually and fell.And just like that she was also gone."
I kept quiet and allowed him to continue
"That was Gwen the cleaner saw us,and somehow she became involved by helping us his and abet to Murder"
I was soaked even though the AC was on.
The story I just heard was unbelievable. They are Murderers who deserve to die.I don't even pity them now.
"His kids were about how old?" I finally spoke up.
"The girl was 15,and the boy 10,it might be the boy since he's smart and knows about medicine since little" He puts in
"I'm locking you here so as to not alert her" I stood up and moved to the door.
"Her?" He asked, confused.
"Yes her" I replied
"And don't take anything,you might get drugged"
He dropped the cup of coffee with
"Don't worry,there's nothing in the coffee,pass me your phone"I held out my hand to take his phone but he just sat there.
" the others die after receiving that message,so I need your phone" I was impatient
He reluctantly gave me his phone
"Someone will come for you,for now stay here" I went out locking the door.I passed the key to Claire
"Don't let anyone in no matter what,Ariel will join you soon.don't let anyone in" I ordered
