Jay POV
I studied the body again and sigh
"Did you find anything?" An old man suddenly came in my view
"Captain" I greeted
He nodded
"Did you find anything" he repeated
"Apart the fact that they die by drugs,there's nothing"
"What did you mean drugs? Didn't he die of heart failure?" Captain looked puzzled
"Naa it was fear,they died of fear,whatever they saw before they died but have made them afraid and the drugs which were already given to them,made their fear raise which caused heart failure till the heart stopped beating." I explained
"What are you saying,we carried out investigation,and found of it heart failure"
"Then reinvestigate" I saw captain gritted his teeth in anger
"Have been dealing with cases for the past 10 years now,just because you managed to crack one case doesn't mind you should be arrogant"
"If I were you,instead of exchanging words here,I will go recheck the other victims and see if I made mistake,"
"And if you are wrong?" He eyed me and spat.
"You can fire me," I shrugged.
"You said that yourself"
"I know,I still have to check the other crime scenes,bye cap" I waved at him and walked into the hospital.
"I will make you regret doubting my investigation,you have….." I didn't hear the rest of his words as I strolled deeper into the hospital.
I frowned when I noticed Claire wasn't with me again
'Maybe she was also finding clue'
I stepped into the elevator
The director's body was found there.
The elevator wasn't working,since the body was found in it,it was closed and only police officers were allowed to enter.
I don't know who was in charge of the case before,but the body, as the position it was found, was drawn with a white.
The space in the elevator is small,I looked up at the camera and saw it was in place.I know they checked the CCTV and found nothing.
I lay down where the body was found and closed my eye.my brain began working.I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the camera.
Something doesn't seem right,it felt as if the Murder wasn't in the elevator with the victim when it happened.
I stood up and dust my clothe.it time to go to the next scene. The cleaner was found in a trash bag,she was found that day by one of her colleagues.
I went to the next scene and saw Claire taking pics,i never thought of it but the pics will work that way I won't have to come back to the crime scene.
"You are doing a great job,have you found anything?" Claire turned to look at me with a smile.
"For now nothing" she replied.
"I will inspect here,hope you took the pics of all the scene"
"I will" she continued with what she was doing.
I surrounded the trash for a while
It seems the Murder still doesn't show up here,then how was he able to stimulate the drug and make them die of fear?
I was looking at the trash carefully and thinking of a method to see or talk to someone without being with them.
Wait,how to talk to them without seeing them? Dies that means……
"Phone, where are the victim's phone" I asked with excitement
"Phone? It should be with the forensic,they are trying to get DNA from it,what happened?"
"How can I get the phones?" I ignored her question and asked mine.
"We have to go to the forensic"
"Then let's go"
"Wait what? What about the other crime scene?" Claire looked reluctant to leave.
"The phone might lead us to the Murderer" I explained to her.
"Is that so? Then let's go" Claire quickly packed her cameras in her bag.
We got out of the hospital
Just when I was about to call a taxi,Captain appeared right in front of me.
"Jay,how did you know?" He was staring at me with some kind of respect or should I say in awe.
"Know what?" I frowned clearly, annoyed,I have something to do and this man might waste my time.
"Antidepressants were found in the cells of the bodies,and they used to induce heart failure, how did you know the Murderer used it?"
"Well it is quite clear,I don't know why you guys don't see it? If you will excuse me" Claire already flagged down a taxi.
We got in and left for the forensic.
"Claire how have you been?" The forensic doctor was exchanging pleasures with Claire.
I had no idea how they knew each other but that isn't my business anyways.
"What did you need?" He asked the question I was waiting for him to ask.
"Oh! Jay here" Claire pulled me,so I could face the doctor
"He needs the victims cell phones"
"Hii" I waved at him and he smiled back.
"Claire, you know we don't reveal evidence,it's against the law…"
"He's the officer in charge of the investigation" Claire cut him off.
"Then you will have to go to the evidence room when am done with it" He replied
"I'll wait till then,we might lose someone else" I chapped in.
The doctor contemplated for a while and brought out the phones
"Use gloves" he ordered
I wore the gloves he passed to me and picked the first phone.
It was off so I on it,I did same to the other two
"No password?" I was surprise
"Of course there's is,but it was flashed by the police so we can be able to see what in it" I nodded to show I understand him
I checked the call log,nothing was in there,I proceeded to message still nothing. ' Did I get it wrong?' I can't help but doubt my analysis.
"The call log and messages are normal but I wonder why the victims were clutching on it though?" The doctor voiced out.
I continued checking to see if I missed anything.
I moved from gallery to videos
Just when I was thinking of giving up,I decided to check their social media platform.
F******k nothing,I* nothing,W******p nothing,until I got to Twitter.
I froze when I saw the message they all received on Twitter.
A picture was sent,it was a picture of 10 people,the victims was among,the picture looked old
Below the picture was a message it reads
( It your turn now,You will know how it feels to die)
I broke in cold sweat,chills ran down my spine even without the drugs. I felt oppressed and scared not to talk of the one's drugged. No wonder it was very easy to have a heart attack. This message and whatever the picture signifies is more than enough.
"I got it" I muttered to myself but am sure Claire heard me
"Got what?"
"A clue,this means solve the case" my eyes were glittering.
"Really? What did you find?" The Doctor peeped into the phone I was holding
"Gosh! This picture…"
"Yes the picture must be the cause of all this" I answered and quickly sent the picture to my phone.
"Thanks Doc"
"You welcome,make sure to crack it today,I don't want more people dying"
"I will,let's go Claire" I urged Claire as we said goodbye to the Doctor.
"Will this help?" She was curious
"Of course,I have a feeling this picture is the answer to all"
"Why did you feel so?" Claire still doesn't get it.
"The 3 victims are in the picture and the rest are directors and doctors in the hospital except for this one" I pointed to the old man in the middle,his eyes beaming with light.
"How did you know they are directors and doctors?" Claire looked even more confused.
"I read everything about the hospital before we went to the crime scene this morning,and I saw this 9 that includes the victims,but this man I found nothing about him" she creases her brow it is clear she still doesn't get it.
"So where are we going?"
"To see the next victim of course" Claires turned to me in shock
"You know the next victim?"
"Yes,the picture says it all,see" I pointed to the picture
"The first victim is by the left,after him who followed?"
"The second victim" she whispered
"And after him ?"
"The third victim" she widened her eyes and it looked like it would pop.
"And after him?"
"That will be the next victim" She swallowed her spit and looked up at me with fear.
"I'm scared"
"Why are you scared? It's not like you are the next victim" I joked but Claire was already pale.
"Hey calm down"
"I can't, the fact that I know who will die next is just….."
"That why we have to stop whoever it is,hop in" I opened the taxi door for her she entered in daze
Claire has spent a hefty sum of money for taxis today.I will return it to her but for now let's catch the Criminal.
