Chap 8: I want Your Wife

Zack stared at his sister and brother-in-law with a lazy look in his eyes. He snorted in annoyance as he sneered at their departure, saying, "It's good that you're self-aware, Joe. You two should leave as soon as possible, if possible next Sunday. If you don't leave, don't blame me if I kick you out."

Joe and Jesslyn didn't say anything. They both walked away without a care in the world for every diatribe from Zack's lips.

Like the couple, Zack turned his eyes to his girlfriend.

"I'm sorry, Baby. I said some harsh words in front of you." Zack changed his expression for a fraction of a second from looking annoyed to smiling sweetly.

"No problem, Zack. I understand your position. They need to realize themselves because this house is rightfully yours, and we can't possibly live with both of them after marriage, right? We need our privacy after marriage, and I'm so glad your parents understand that." Noona glanced at Ben and Rosetta, then gave them the sweetest smile possible.

Zack felt very happy when he saw the smile on his girlfriend's lips. He felt like a winner because Noona was willing to continue their relationship even though she knew he wasn't working.

"It's good that my father will give this house as a wedding gift for me and Noona later. If my father had refused, Noona would have been unwilling to accept my proposal." Zack thought to himself. "Besides, this house should be mine. Jesslyn is just a woman, but me? I am a man, and she has no right to my mom and dad's property because Jesslyn should be living in her husband's house, not here! This house is mine!"

Zack stared at his sister's bedroom door, then snorted once more. "Seeing Jesslyn's aggressive attitude earlier, I'll have to secure Mom and Dad's possessions. I don't want Joe to live well because of my parents' property! If Jesslyn gets a share of the property, Joe will live well. I don't want to, and I'm not willing."

Zack's body trembled for a few seconds. His hand, gently grasping Noona's hand, turned into a grip, making her wince slightly.

"Zack, Baby!" Noona raised her voice a few octaves. She withdrew her hand and then stroked the reddened area.

"I'm sorry, Baby, I'm sorry." Zack was stunned. He immediately grabbed Noona's hand but was knocked away by the woman.

Zack cursed himself, and he cursed Joe and Jesslyn in his heart. His mind was distracted because his brain seemed to create a scenario where Joe took over his parents' property. He didn't want that to happen and had to anticipate everything before what was in his mind turned into reality.

"Baby, I'm sorry." Zack was still trying to woo Noona, but she ignored his apologies.

Without caring about Ben and Rosetta, Noona immediately moved away while stomping her feet in annoyance. Behind her, Zack followed with wide strides as if afraid of being left behind.

"Zack," Rosetta tried to restrain her son. She didn't like seeing her son begging a woman.

To her, it was equivalent to lowering her son's self-esteem.

"Stay out of their business," Ben held his wife's wrist.

Although he was disappointed with Noona's behavior, which showed no respect for them, Ben couldn't do anything because he didn't want to lose a future daughter-in-law who could guarantee their lives in old age.

Inside the room, the suffocating atmosphere was even more intense. Jesslyn, holding back her emotions since returning home, became even more upset when she saw her husband's response.

"Calm down, Jess. We should rest now. Don't think about Zack's words. I'm sure he was joking because he just wanted to look cool in front of his girlfriend." Joe approached Jesslyn, sitting back on the bed, her arms crossed in front of her chest, a wry smile on her lips.

"Calm down? I won't be able to calm down after hearing a request from my father. Do you think my father was joking when he made that decision? There wasn't a single joke in that conversation, Joe. Please get rid of that naivety, and you don't even know which part is a joke and which part is not." Jess massaged her temples, then said, "How can I marry a fool like you?"

Joe, who heard his wife's words, immediately smiled wryly. Even though he often gets diatribes, insults, and sentences that are very painful, hearing these degrading words directly from his wife's lips makes Joe's heart seem to be sliced.

"Yes, forgive me for being stupid. So, let's sleep because we have to prepare a lot of ammunition to face tomorrow." Joe ignored his wife's rant, preferring to lie on the bed and close his eyes.

"You're a fool, Joe. I regret marrying you. You're a stupid man. You're weak." Jesslyn continued to speak her mind, but Joe remained silent, knowing that his wife would get even angrier if he answered or refused to refute the insults and diatribes.

The end of the sentence of insults and diatribes led to a soft cry. Joe, who heard his wife crying, wanted to hug her, but finally, he turned his body around and tried to cover his ears because he wanted all the burdens that filled Jesslyn's heart to disappear.

The next day,

Joe looked at his wife's puffy face. He hugged Jesslyn for a few seconds, then cleaned up in the bathroom.

At exactly 8 a.m., Joe and Jesslyn were ready. They both went to the company together.

"I'm not sure if you can fulfill the challenge given by Oliver, Joe. I wonder, how can you still look this relaxed?" Jesslyn said. She looked at Joe, who looked very relaxed. The man's expression looked very flat, as if nothing had happened.

Joe smiled, not responding to his wife's question until they entered the company.

"Joe, are you setting me up? You don't look panicked at all. Are you acting like this because you already have a solution to this problem or because you are taking advantage of Aaron, who is willing to help you?" Jesslyn looked straight into her husband's eyes.

Joe shook his head. "I'm not that bad, Jess. I wouldn't make you suffer by falling into that bastard's arms." Joe answered briefly.

Jesslyn hooked her index fingers together. She inhaled and exhaled her breath slowly. She did that to gain even the slightest sense of calm.

However, that sense of calm did not come, especially after she saw Aaron, who was already sitting on the lobby sofa adjacent to the elevator, as if he was waiting for her arrival.

Unconsciously, Jesslyn gripped Joe's arm tightly.

"Calm down, I can handle this. Don't worry." Joe took the first step.

When they were only 10 meters apart, Aaron raised his hand as if calling out to Joe, saying, "Can you walk any faster?"

Joe stopped his steps, catching a glimpse of Jess's paled face.

"Hurry up, are your ears deaf? Oliver, who turned out to be in the same place from earlier, immediately dragged the collar of the shirt worn by Joe.

"Let go!" Joe struggled but couldn't break free, so his body fell under Aaron's feet.

Joe looked up, his teeth chattering as he saw the dismissive look from Aaron. With difficulty, Joe rose from kneeling and patted his knees to remove any dust that might have stuck there.

"Why are you angry just because you fell to your knees before me? I guess it suits you, even your wife doesn't care when you are humiliated. So, it can be concluded that your purpose in life is just to kneel and carry out orders from others." Aaron said in an arrogant tone.

Jesslyn, whose name had just been mentioned, immediately approached Joe and pulled her husband's hand away from Aaron.

"Well, it looks like Wonder Woman is here." Aaron winked his eyes at Jess. "By the way, it seems that this wife of yours is very good at sex. Did you guys have a wonderful time last night? Look, your wife's eyes are black from lack of sleep, Joe."

The other staff laughed at Jesslyn silently. They didn't dare laugh out loud because she was their boss.

"Shut your mouth, Aaron. You don't have the right to comment on my marriage life!"

"I do, Jess. I'm very entitled, especially after becoming obsessed with being on top of your beautiful body." Aaron licked his lips, then looked at Jesslyn with a lustful gaze.
