CHAPTER 40-DECEPTION

Senator Abigail Harrison sat in her dimly lit office, plotting for revenge. The defeat in the court the other day still burned in her mind, the humiliation of her guilty verdict ringing in her ears.

She had been so close to ruining George Thompson and his cousin Tristan Morris, but they had outsmarted her in the end.

"This cannot stand," she muttered to herself, her fists clenched in frustration. She picked up her phone and dialed a number she had memorized long ago. It rang three times before the voice on the other end picked up.

"Hello?" a deep menacing voice echoed through the line.

"Cooper," she greeted coldly, "I need your services once again. I have a job for you?"

Cooper was a notorious killer, known for his cold efficiency and lack of moral compassion. He had served Abigail well in the past, and she knew he would be the perfect person to carry out her plan.

"What do you need?" Cooper growled, his voice dripping with malice.
