At that moment, he heard a horrifying howl. He immediately stopped in his tracks and narrowed his eyes, only to see a big wolf-like creature a few steps in front of him. The beast was devouring the dog-hooven beast, and it was five times bigger than the dog-hooven beast. 

If he were a normal person with normal vision, he would have already noticed it the moment he got out of the restaurant. 

The beast howled as it glared at him. Its piercing eyes seemed to hold a mix of hunger and aggression, making it clear that the creature saw him as its next meal. The man's heart raced as he weighed his options, realizing that his survival now depended on either outsmarting or overpowering this formidable adversary.

He widened his eyes as he stared at the screen in his mind. His full health points were only 50. But the beast in front of him had 250. Its defense shield was 10 kg of energy, so a punch or any attack with less than 10 kg of energy wouldn't have any effect on it. Unfortunately, his full strength was less than 10 kg of energy. Defeating it would require him to attack repeatedly at extreme speed, causing the attacks to land on its body simultaneously. Thus, the force landing on it would be more than 10kg.

Nathan was not thrilled to receive the quest; instead, it irritated him. There was no way he was going to defeat the beast. He needed to get a bit stronger to stand a chance against such a formidable opponent.

"Grrrr..." The beast charged over him.

He threw a knife he was holding in his hand with all his might, aiming for the beast's vulnerable spot, but the defensive force released by the beast alone was enough to send the knife flying back toward him. Nathan quickly dodged the knife, narrowly avoiding being struck. The power of the beast was far beyond what he had anticipated, and he realized that his current strength was not enough to defeat it. 

Just after avoiding the knife, the beast struck him with its claws, sending him flying backward. 

His body smashed into the wall of the restaurant. 

"Agh!" He groaned faintly as he coughed out a few mouthfuls of blood. 

He got up, only to collapse again. The attack contained about 50 kg of energy, and his defense was less than 3kg.

Thus, he was seriously injured. The pain was excruciating, and he struggled to catch his breath.

Just one attack had taken about 40 points from his life(Health). He knew he couldn't afford to take another hit like that, not even a single weak attack. 

Nathan glanced at the beast in despair. He hadn't anticipated his death to come so soon like that. He had many goals to achieve!  

Since his HP was too low, he was extremely weak, and he couldn't move a muscle. The pain in his body was unbearable, and he could feel his consciousness fading. He desperately needed help before it was too late. 

Due to the weakness and severe pain he was feeling, he passed out immediately.

"He has no serious injuries." There were no internal injuries. He felt drained of vitality! He will be able to participate in the competition." A gentle voice resonated in Nathan's ears.

Nathan opened his eyes as a light shone across his face. He sat up immediately and looked around, trying to gather his bearings. The room he was in was unfamiliar, consisting of some medical equipment and the sterile scent of disinfectant. Confusion washed over him as he tried to remember how he ended up here and who the gentle voice belonged to.

At that point, he realized he was lying on an electric hospital bed with a blanket covering half of him, from his legs to his waist. The beeping sound of monitors filled the room, adding to his disorientation. He realized that it was a room in an infirmary. 

The voice he heard was coming from outside the room. The room was quite clean and had some advanced medical equipment that Nathan had never seen, but he was able to note that it lacked a lot of the necessary equipment that an infirmary was supposed to have. 

It was clear that it was a neglected infirmary.

Rays of light from the outside shot at his face as the door of the room was calmly pushed open. Instead of a nurse, an elegant and attractive woman entered. That's according to his expectations.

The woman's hair was neatly tied at the back of her head. She wore brown military camouflage pants and a white vest that accentuated her slim figure. She also wore a necklace around her neck. 

As she folded her arms and sauntered toward him, the corners of her mouth twisted into a faint smile. 

The footsteps generated by her feet in military boots were steady and energetic. 

Glaring at him with a gentle gaze, it made him feel at ease for the first time he had transmigrated to this world. 

"You've finally woke up. How are you doing?" The woman asked with a warm smile, her voice filled with genuine concern. Her words were comforting, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards her. It was as if she had been watching over him during his unconscious state, and the thought touched his heart. 

Nathan had the impression that they were related in some way after staring at the woman.
