Chapter 3

Victoria walked to her boss room pissed off due to the embarrassment that she was shown by General Martin. Drake at such situation he had control of his anger due to the fear of the consequences this was the only time he did not followed Victoria as a working mate. Victoria entering the boss room she found the boss seated on the seat where without caring the rank nor the outcome she shouted, “Now what’s that with my criminal.” The boss who had already known the situation rose from his seat wanting to protect his innocent he responded,

“Who are you to come in my office to talk to me like that?”

“You are my boss but you are under the law.”

“He is not released all that is done is change of the case from one person to another person.”

“There is a protocol to follow.”

“Victoria that is the General of the Army he is above some things he is also above me.”

Victoria clicked walked out while saying, “I hate the system of this county,” then she slums the door on her way out. The boss who was above Victoria though he was sometime scared of Victoria’s anger he sat on the seat and sigh. Outside the boss door, Victoria found Drake who was peeping in.

Drake on the other sides he was very respectful to the boss because he knew his anger will be taken differently from Victoria’s because of the gender inequality that this days press men to the furthest corner of freedom of expression.

At the highway there was a military van driven that was guarded by other two military vehicles before and after it. Inside the military van Ben was seated on a sit heavily chained both his arms and legs. Two soldiers who were armed sat beside him having thoughts of how dangerous the man was to have this kind of security. One of the soldier who had a well build body looked at Ben in degraded him by the look of his skinny body where Ben did not reacted.

The soldier who did that in intention cleared his throat to get Ben’s attention where he did not responded and continued walking. Having a history a history of defeating all the opponent he ever faced asked Ben, “Why are you here?” Ben who did not wanted anything more he faced the soldier and to the soldier’s eye, he noticed the pride on the eyes.

As a wise man, he turned down to assume the soldier’s distraction but the soldier was pissed off by Ben’s reaction. The soldier moved closer to him and rudely said, “I have been a soldier for 20 years and I have never found anybody who assumes me like this. I have made men cry out their mothers name who are you now.”

To Ben this was less than those people who tried to test his anger. The other soldier with his good character he said to the other stubborn soldier,

“Can you please relax we were told to avoid questioning him.”

“All I want is to know why I am ordered here and I thought there was a terrorist attack.”

After the stubborn soldier responding that he faced Ben and asked, “Or is wrong to know why I was summoned because of a person who I can handle him alone.” Ben who was feed up with the stubborn soldier faced him and calmly responded, “Why don’t you listen to what you fellow work mate is telling you?”

The soldier who could not control his pride he giggled and said, “My wife is also afraid of me she cannot speak out some words to me,” then hit Ben’s nose with his elbow.  Quickly the other soldier spring to the other soldier to stop him. The stubborn soldier acting as an understandable person he moved away while saying, “Its ok am done with him.”

When he moved a distance away, he noticed Ben was still facing downwards while trying to cool of the pain by rubbing his nose while grunting. The caring soldier noticed the awkwardness where he asked Ben, “What wrong?” The stubborn soldier responded, “We all have problems so stop acting as if you are the first.”

Ben’s pain did not ended where he continued to rub his nose to cool the pain where the nose pain did not stopped. As he was continuing, rubbing the nose is as the pain continued where he grunted more louder and intense. But the soldiers curiosity rose when as he was rubbing his nose he broke the chains to have a more comfortable rubbing.

That was when the soldiers started saw how this operation needed many guards. The two soldiers pointed their guns to Ben who was not paying attention to them at the time he was already broken the chains and knelt on the ground grunting like he was failing a whole body pain. One of good soldier with fear of the ugly scene he shouted, “Stop or I will shoot.”

The words were not tariffing to Ben compared to what he knew was coming. As a caring person who knew the outcome, Ben hiding his face said to the soldiers, “Please don’t do anything I will relax.” The stubborn soldier with his pride lowered where he was holding his gun while shaking because ever in his life he has never seen anybody breaking the chains how he saw there were broken into pieces.

The stubborn soldier could not take any more watching the ugly scene in silent where he shouted to Ben, “I said stop or I will shoot.” Ben still he was busy felling the whole body pain where he could not stop rubbing his whole body. The stubborn soldier with a more louder voice he shouted again, “I said stop or I will shoot,” where Ben stopped and still hiding his face he cried out,

“Please let me relax and let the situation to become more ugly than this.” 

“Ok face us and we will calm this whole situation down.”

“Please don’t let me do this.”

“Face us or we will shoot.”

There was a moment of silence in the military van the soldiers were pointing guns to Ben ready to attack on the other side the driver was busy glued to the road while on his earphones listening music. Ben to prevent the gun commotions he trusted the two soldiers where he slowly turned on them. There is where the two soldiers were surprised to see Ben’s half face had turn to something ugly. Due of the stubborn soldier’s fear he accidentally pulled the trigger shooting Ben’s face.

Due to the gun’s impact, Ben faced away due to the shoot. Still after the shoot the soldiers were scared and silently facing Ben. Ben then turned back to the soldiers while holding the bullet on his mouth where he spit it off and said, “You have both messed up.”

The military car that was following military van behind was swiftly following the van. From the driver view he saw the van suddenly loss control where it over turn and rolled of the road. Quickly the driver pulled of the car beside the van where the other car before also stopped. And thinking it was a reckless driving the all jumped of the car and rushed to it to save their fellow work mates.

Reaching close to the van the heard some weird banging, Scratching that was followed roaring. As soldiers always ready they all cocked their guns and pointed them to the van as they slowly walked to the van. The scene was silent as the soldiers were waiting for the thing in the van to come out and attack. The soldier at the front line called out, “Soldier Jack are you there?” where there was no response.

Suddenly the van’s back door was blown out some meters away and in the van the roaring stopped, this raised more suspense to the soldiers. For a moment, the scene was all-silent where everything went rouge where a hand that was twice a normal human hand size and full of talons, moved out of the van and held into the door frame and smashed the metal frame as a sponge. This is when they all knew what they were dealing with was not an ordinary thing, the soldiers were not build to fear but with such a situation, they never thought of nor taught in training.

One of the soldier who looked wise of all of them noticed the van was leaking out petrol where he shouted to the other, “Move back!” Quickly the other soldier rushed back as the beast in the van roared loud. When the soldiers were away from the van, the wiser soldier turned to the leaked petrol and shoot where suddenly the van blew off.

The scene was so horrific as the dark smoke from a burning oil rises into the sky as the van was burning out. This caused a commotion where other drivers stopped their cars beside the scene to obtain primary information. But the soldier due to their protocol they were prevented the drivers from stopping at the road side. Suddenly out of the flaming van there was a loud roar where immediately the soldiers turned back to the van and pointed the their guns ready to attack. Slowly as the smoke and the fire lowered making the van visible there an image of a 10 feet human looking beast, a little bit more hairy than a normal human, masculine and fingers full of talons emerged out of the smoke where it roared loud.  

Quickly the drivers that were ignorant to the soldiers drove off their car leaving the soldiers alone waiting for the beast to make a move so as they can attack. When the all had a view of the beast their rule suddenly faded away from their head where they all shoot at once continuously towards the beast and for a moment the scene was like the massacre of the great wars of Vietnam, of the sounds of gun shoots everywhere.

At a distance a lorry of petrol approached where the wise soldier shouted, “Stop!” due to the dangerous package that the truck was caring. The soldier all responded by stopping shooting at the beast but by the shoot that they had made they were convinced that the beast was down. But to their surprise they were shocked to find the beast still standing beside the van with no scratch.

As the soldier were loading what they were facing quickly the beast spring to the soldiers held one of them torn him into two parts and the other punched him with a full speed lorry power. This was the time the soldiers knew they have to retreat the mission without any orders because they were facing a losing battle that at the end of the day, they will not be known as heroes and their families will lose them. So quickly, they rushed and hide behind one of their car that was packed at the furthest end.

The beast was in range where using its super strength it took the car beside him and throw it to the soldier where it missed and hit the petrol tank that was moving. And with no other results the petrol truck loosed control and fell to roll over the road causing a large accident.

As a ball rolled down a hill, the petrol tank rolled along the road where at a far distance it was going to smash a woman who had fallen on the ground and her leg broken. The beast that was violent noticed the helpless woman where it spring to her and using its back, it blocked the woman as the petrol tank passed over it.

That was the best time where the soldiers could attack the beast again, and without wasting time, they all pointed their guns to the beast waiting for a command to shoot. But slowly the beast rose as it turned to the soldiers as it was carrying the lady and as a saviour it had protected the lady. The unexpected scene was touching to the wise soldier where he paused to give the command to shoot.

The beast as if it had a human heart it gently placed the woman on the ground and faced the soldiers ready to attack them. One of the soldier who looked scared said to the wise soldier, “Should we make a move?” The wise soldier calmly as he was facing the beast eye to eye responded, “No actually lower your weapons if you want to get here alive.” The soldiers as a young child’s hope when thrown up laughing hope to be caught when coming down they lowered their guns. The beast roared louder at once, where they over think their decision but still not reacted. Then after the beast saw it was all clear it ran so fast and then jumped off the soldiers view. The scene the soldiers that were left with it was enough for them to quit the job.
