“I will take my leave now. However.” Isaac’s eyes turned cold, causing the five mosquitoes to tremble in fear. “You will know what will happen if something happens to the sibling goblin. I’m not kidding. Don’t test me.”
“Y-Yes,” replied the leader while nodding his head. “Rest assured, Phantom. With five of us guarding them, our kin can't harm them.”
The other four mosquitoes immediately supported their leader while trying their best to flap their wings, wanting to resist the pressure Phantom brought to them. Isaac felt assured by their reactions and quickly smiled at them, causing the tense atmosphere alleviated.
Isaac was about to ask where the king was currently because he knew nothing about where the previous Phantom resided when he sensed his kin asking for help. Immediately, he lost connection to a single mosquito up to five mosquitoes each second, signifying their death. Isaac couldn’t help but tense up. What could have caused the sudden death of his kin? Does the goblin village was hiding a monster?
Isaac closed his eyes for a moment and the five mosquitoes didn’t dare to disturb him. They also sensed the strange event happening to their kin, but their blood communication wasn’t as effective compared to Isaac. Therefore, they naturally knew Isaac was trying to find the cause, and they were waiting for him to report the result to them.
‘Two giant goblins? But they could only hold on for some time before they would die from blood loss. However, it’s still an astonishing fact for them to kill my kin every second. My kin? I don’t accept being a mosquito yet!
Arggh! I can’t find the cause of the mosquitos’ death, with five of them each second! Before I could share their vision, all they faced was…
A fireball?’
Isaac was dumbfounded, and the five mosquitoes caught his reaction. They were immediately nervous, thinking Isaac must have discovered a horrifying happening to their kin. However, it was their turn to be dumbfounded when they saw the little limb of Phantom shivering. And when they looked at his face, trying their best not to curve a smile, his sparkling eyes and exciting emotion didn’t escape their senses.
“Phantom,” said the leader. “What happened?”
“Oh?” Isaac was awakened from his daze thoughts. “It’s nothing. However, our kin is in danger!”
‘Then, why are you smiling and excited?’
The five of them complained in their mind before forcing themselves to acknowledge Isaac’s statement. Then, they were discussing, but loud enough for Isaac to hear, because they did not want to be caught in a dreadful fight. Who cares about the life and death of their kin? Their life was more precious and valuable!
Isaac knew what they were acting about but couldn’t care about them anymore. The sudden realization that Magic exists in his current world made him tremble in excitement. Thankfully, he managed to mask his emotion, even though barely.
Seeing the distracted mosquito focused on their denial to save their kin, he took the chance to analyze what he saw and decided to ask the system about it.
“System, do I have the affinity for conjuring magical spells?”
[Currently, the system doesn’t have enough information regarding the concept of magic. The system suggests that the host should discover a book about it.]
Isaac was stunned before having an epiphany. That’s right! How could the goblin wizard learn spells by himself? Surely it must have discovered a book or tome to learn from, right? As he thought about it, Isaac now had another goal in his mind. To search every nook and cranny in the goblin village to find the book before leaving! Who cares about offending a king? It’s not like the king could afford so!
“Do your best to defend this place at all costs! If something happens, I don’t mind shredding blood, even if it was my kin!” Isaac coldly warned them before dashing to the location of the goblin wizard.
The five mosquitoes were at a loss for words and wanted to reject his proposal because they would naturally escape once danger before this place. However, Isaac didn’t give them a chance and disappeared with his silent flap skills. They were stunned, and even though they noticed Isaac wasn’t as fast as the Phantom from before, he flew silently. They immediately thought he must have evolved from being the scout to an assassin!

“Fireball! Fireball! Fireball! Urk!”
The old goblin kept exhausting his mana, but he replenished it with a blue liquid stored in a small potion. The old goblin kept repeating the same process, and his single fireball could incinerate a single goblin up to five of them. He didn’t intend to use the fire shield. He wasn’t dumb to realize the mosquito monster the dead chief worried about wasn’t as weak as the cannon fodder in front of him.
The five meters radius space he kept maintained to avoid losing momentum, which could potentially lead to his death, but not a single mosquito had entered yet. Sometimes, a frequent of them managed to bypass, which threatened him, but he could have retreated and used the corpse of the two village chief guards and the village chief for cover to obliterate them.
It was this tactic that made him still fight even hundreds of mosquito monsters surrounding him.
“How can we kill him?” a mosquito at the back side asked.
“How can we know?” replied the mosquito who heard him. “The reason we still kept fighting despite many of our kin dying, as he was the only goblin left! We immediately concluded that whoever killed him would be rewarded by the king! That’s why we are bravely losing our life here!”
“How many of us are left?” a mosquito at the back side swept its compound eyes to his kin.
“Who knows? A hundred? Or two?”
Then the mosquito, who replied saw the chance the goblin wizard took out a potion mana, which means the chance he could cast a fireball was low, took the chance to attack. The mosquito at the back side wanted to stop him, but it was too late! Even when the goblin wizard was drinking, without hesitation, conjured a fireball and targeted the six mosquitoes who tried to attack him!
Incinerate!
They were immediately reduced to ashes. Although the six of them tried their best to attack in a scattered manner, the fireball was large enough for them to feel the heat despite not having collided with it yet!
In addition, the second batch group coming from the west, which the goblin wizard had just attacked the group of mosquitoes at the east, was immediately incinerated by the second fireball. The old goblin wizard's concentration and presence of mind kept him from dying.
This continued for dozens of seconds before the mosquito monsters were about to retreat when they sensed the presence of Phantom. They immediately rejoiced and exclaimed at the same time.
“Phantom is here!”
Of course, once they exclaimed Phantom’s name, Isaac immediately acted like how the previous body would. He swept his head to his kin, nodding while pretending he was elated from the countless praises. Most mosquitoes who knew Phantom fired up once he was at the center of attention continued their exaggerated praises, and their loud voice escalated each second. The goblin wizard stopped the continuous chant of fireball, even though he could have taken the chance because the mosquitoes face their back to him. How could he have the gall to continue when he sensed an ominous, terrifying presence? His eyes locked intently on Phantom's presence and realized the mosquitoes surrounded Phantom and acted happily delighted because of his appearance. He couldn’t understand what they were shouting, but the goblin wizard wasn’t dumb to realize the real battle was about to start. He immediately consumed a single mana potion and secured the remaining in his waist, making sure there would be no distr
The mosquito armies visioned the five materializing pentagon-shaped hovering, covering the body of the goblin wizard. However, their thirst for killing the goblin wizard didn’t halt their attack. Some were sensible enough to follow their screaming instinct, but it was only a pitiful amount of them. Isaac took the chance to blend in with the group of mosquitoes, who halted their attack, while attentively looking at the five materializing fire shields defending the goblin wizard. Relying on his vision, he knew the intensity of the heat coming from the fire shield was getting higher which was about to surpass the fireball heat! As expected, Isaac sensed the threat coming from the fire shield, and there were five of them at that! “No, it should be the only powerful skill that the goblin wizard has in his arsenal.” Isaac rejoiced. “The blue liquid he had drank, which amounted to almost ten, must be the mana potion. Seeing he immediately gulped them all means he was going all out!” Isaac
Time seemed to stop again, but it only worked at Isaac. He felt the wind, but as though he became a wind. The air resistance that became a barrier because of his speed seemed to disappear, causing him not to feel the roughness of the wind on his face anymore. In addition, he felt he could borrow the wind to penetrate the fire shield. If it would really be achieved, he could use the wind to block the heat entering his body! However, he was proved wrong when he finally entered the fire shield. “Hot!” Isaac felt his flesh was scorching, and the tremendous pain was traumatizing. Halfway through his penetration, he grew accustomed to the pain and suddenly heard the system’s announcement. [You have acquired the Heat Resistant.] He ignored it afterward, even though he was questioning if it was a skill. It would be good for him to remodel the system after he assassinated the goblin wizard, who was now staring at him in horror. The goblin wizard knew the mosquito monster had survived from
Three hours later, after looking at every nook and crook, Isaac finally found the tome. It was hidden in an isolated hut, which stood at the northern part of the goblin village. When Isaac found it, he immediately tried to open it but couldn’t. Aside from thinking of using his needle mouth to open it, there was no option as his limb was small and thin. It doesn’t have enough power at all! Therefore, he decided to ask the system about it. “System, how can I learn the tome’s content.” [Simple, the host only needed to touch the tome, and the system will absorb the contents through contact.] Isaac’s eyes lit up as he discovered more about his skill, Digestion. However, to validate his assumption, he decided to ask the system. “Will you use the skill, digest? That unique skill shouldn’t be that omnipotent, right?” [As for the host’s first question, the host is wrong. As for the second question, the host is correct. The prerequisite for the skill to be activated is needed to store the
Three hours earlier, after the fifty remaining mosquitoes gathered around the corpse of the goblin wizard. They discussed and considered what to report to the King. As much as they wanted to leave the job to the Phantom, the Phantom's assassination of the goblin wizard, which they feared the most, caused them to dismiss the thought. Therefore, they finally decided there would be only five of them to report to the King in case they encountered the other races along the way. They could only pray at least one of them to safely reach the destination and report an important matter to the King. Under the leadership of the pervert mosquito, they journeyed to travel to their old kingdom. Meanwhile, the remaining mosquito decided to split themselves and formulate a map for the goblin village. They were exhilarated and enthusiastic to get their job done as they thought the map would greatly please the King. They dispersed and only two remained to guard the goblin wizard's corpse. Two hours
Isaac was about to return to the battlefield when he found out about the sudden appearance of many mosquito monsters, causing his blood communication to overwhelm him. Thankfully, only a meager amount of mosquito monsters tried to communicate with him.Of course, among them was the call from the king.Although Isaac sensed the overwhelming call from the king as though he was being summoned by a powerful figure, it only happened once. Thus, Isaac didn’t continue to give time to ponder over it.After all, the sudden appearance of an estimated five thousand mosquitoes surprised him.“What happened?” Isaac asked himself. “Three hours have passed since I looked for the tome. It should be sufficient to report to the king they were talking about, and the five thousand mosquitoes must be the population of the mosquito kingdom.”Isaac landed on the ground and continued to think.“Hundreds of mosquito is flying in my direction, and I only have five seconds to think before they can point out my
Isaac finally arrived on the battlefield and was surprised to see mosquitoes creating a border with themselves as though preventing anyone to enter the battlefield. Isaac was confused as he activated the skills, Appraisal to one of the mosquitoes appearing to be a guard or soldier.[Name: LawsonLevel: 3Species: Mosquito monsterSkills: Mosquito bite.Note: An average mosquito soldier.]Isaac was amazed by the simple introduction but specific. Knowing their name should not bring him into trouble since he had no recollection of their name aside from the revered mosquito called king. If he didn’t recognize a single mosquito in his race, it would naturally bring him into trouble.Without further ado, Isaac fly to the mosquito soldier called Lawson to ask him some question.“Lawson, what is this barricade about?”Instead of getting an answer, Isaac received an expression of surprise and then came later delighted eyes.“Phantom, you actually remember me? You didn’t ask for my name when we
Isaac arrived at the goblin wizard’s corpse and was surprised a lone mosquito standing atop a big ball radiating energy. Isaac recognized the solitary mosquito from his aura alone and the gaze directed towards him when he made his appearance. Without a doubt, he is the king. The mysterious king that Isaac was curious to meet, the king that stood above all the mosquitoes, whose twisted personality naturally leaned on superiority. As he thought about how sophisticated mosquitoes he met were, Isaac couldn’t help but raise a thought. ‘Does the king like that as well?’ “Who permitted you to disturb me, Phantom?” The king asked with a chilling tone. ‘How intimidating.’ Isaac was slightly perturbed but then regained his composure as he calmed his mind. He immediately acted like Phantom. “Huh? My kin had been insisting on reporting me to you. Now that I’m here, why does it appear you are pissed? Did I offend you in some ways?” Isaac’s tone was genuinely innocent, as though he wasn’t a
